Monthly subscriptions are always killer of any interest for me, at least give the option to buy it out right!

My balls are tingling literally. When Mojaxx gets excited about something you know it’s something serious. I’ve not used DJAY as I don’t use a laptop and do everything standalone but now with a couple of cables I can get my iPhone hooked up via the software to give me some additional features I lack in engine dj. And as a subscriber to Beatsource and beatport, it’s going to be even better. Thanks Mojaxx, I only ever listen to you…keep up the good work bro 👍

I used this app when I had an iPhone, 4S...thats how long its been since I used this app. I moved from that ecosystem to Android and I've never used a Mac to DJ, Windows for me and thats a personal choice. The updates to this app is amazing and if they come out with an Android and Windows capable version, I will get it. What I am surprised at is that no one has purchased this company, Serato, Denon (Engine), VDJ, Traktor, etc.

That Pioneer S5 really looks great with your custom Technics.

I used djay for years with a Numark iDJ Pro when it had the Spotify integration and never had any issues streaming. Also, used it in several remote locations over cell service. However, I sure hope Serato is paying attention. That auxiliary window is a NICE feature to group songs together!

These are the types of updates I expect when paying a subscription and Algorridim delivered. I’m slowly switching to 100% djay Pro because I like this type of company/service. Case in point - they just updated djay Pro 4.01 to support the DDJ-REV1. I’m Mac based so this decision is probably easier for me than someone on Windows. Also, being able to use my iPhone/iPad as a backup within the same eco-system is a big plus. I was mostly Serato and it’s still great - for a one-time purchase - but I can’t imagine paying a Serato subscription with their glacial pace of software development.

As a Serato Pro user, I would rather use Djay but if they didnt have a montly or yearly charge. I have it on my ipad and the features are amazing.

I have not gotten the DJ PRO DVS Vinyl cause it śold out. That’s very telling. I have used it with Serato DVS on a Rane 70 works well after some set up. To be able to use my technics with my iPhone…am I dreaming? Surreal. The ability to link songs that go well together! Feels like a feature that should’ve always been there. I can now freestyle mix. I don’t have to live by a list! I can feel/read the crowd and be a FREE DJ - mix in the moment. Wish list: Open this app to ALL controllers. Beat grid NEEDS improvement. Make it inter-app audio source.

Chris! Great review. We missed you at NAMM. We had Djay at our booth, and I had the chance to play with it. Absolutely love it! Instrumentals and acapellas on the fly! We had DJ Revolution cut on it. Can't wait to get deep into it myself.

Tried it out at Namm over the weekend..love it! Especially with the iPad..being able to swipe up and down thru the playlist..and the ability to use all streaming services at the same time is great. And being able to createa playlist in the software is awesome...Serato needs to upgrade on that feature..im going to get it forsure..👍

I have been djaying for long time always used vinyl.. now I came to sense to get an iPad use djay pro was a game changer 2017. Just got the dvs vinyl going to try this out with my djay setup hope I'm not going to be disappointed... One thing I did have to upgrade my mixer got one with a USB ipod mp3 Rockville hopefully it will do the job...

Really want Serato to come to iPad. This is super dope. Props to Algoriddim for staying ahead of the curve.

I recently got alogriddim and all i can say is serato , traktor and rekordbox its game over for you this app has literally blown me away , im a huge serato fan but dam algo is like your younger better bigger stronger brother

This starts to become really interesting now. The one thing that would hold me back now (apart from the subscription model) would be flexible beatgrids. That has always been one of the most helpful serato features for me personally. Does anyone know if Algoriddim Djay Pro supports those now? Love the lack of hardware-lockin, BTW!

Great, but DJ Player Pro (iOS) has had DVS for years.

The most interesting thing is the splitting of the songs. And the option to work with an iPad. I hope Serato follows suit and brings these features too.

I’m personally looking forward to Serato’s response to this. I’d ideally like to have Serato on my iPhone for gigs rather than switching back forth between platforms.

I've tested it and I love it! It feels just like DJing on vinyl without a computer in the way. The only thing to improve I think is when you stop the vinyl with the fader on, it doesn't sound good. Especially if you cut the power of the turntable.

DJ Player Pro IOS app supports DVS on iPhones and Ipads for ages….but happy to see that a big mainstream DJ software company slowly adapts technology that already exists for many many years in a small boutique app…:) hopefully others will follow to! (E.g. Traktor)

@mojaxx great reviews as always. Spend time with stems-mixing with them. I have with vdj and adj and even just the simple traditional bass swap is so much better sans all the other possibilities like dropping bass but keeping kick or vice versa. A new level of butter smooth mixes on the fly. I first used adj to make acapellas for dj edits but was on road to a gig and found I could do just about everything on it. I like you ahve yet to migrate due to library mgmt-but now iwth streaming and offline locker its a viable / practical option.

I enjoyed using this software. I am a hardcore serato user. My only gripe at the moment is that when you nudge if you don’t nudge lightly you will speed or slow it down waaaaay to much. I guess I’m use to pitch in time.

I have zero interrest in using a tiny phone but a Tablet with DVS is kind of amazing. DJing has always been my only reason to own a laptop. The stem separation thing is nice even though on many songs it sounds kind of bad but if the point is mostly transitions and whatnot it's good enough, the app itself is not as deep as Serato, Traktor, VDJ etc... it's much more basic and the subscription thing: well BOOOO! Hopefully, this pushes the industry forward as not much interesting has happened in a long time with the exception of MWM's Phase.

i have come to like Djay pro alot in the last year. it's the most fun to me. i still use the first Djay pro cause they had a deal before Djay pro 2 came out that if you bought Djay pro 1 for $50 u can keep it like i don't pay yearly for it, i use rekordbox 5 and 6 came with my pioneer DDJ-RB, Traktor 2.11 hacked version and ok i bought Traktor pro 3 but that was only $100 and i had to buy the real version if i wanted my color screens to work on the Traktor Kontrol S5 and if u want to use beatport link u need the real version also, And virtual DJ i never paid for it came with my Reloop Touch. so i can use any DJ controller that works with Vitrual DJ 2021 also for free! that is why i don't have Serato i'm not paying $300 for that. Also i do use CDJ's but when i use the mixer i don't use a laptop so i don't need Serato.

I’m a little vague on the adaptor part. I don’t have a usb plug in on my mixer so is that game over or can I use digi to phono adapters somehow and just plug into “line”? I was looking at Phase DJ as an option 🤔

I used to do DVS with an iPad with DJ Player pro, which was fine, but Djay delivers a way better experience. Really hope Algoriddim would hook up with Phase to offer HID integration, that would make Djay the perfect platform for me.

What a time to be alive. Is all the IOS stuff improving because the software takes less computer power or because small devices are getting more powerful? I would love a Traktor system like this that I could load onto the Denon decks with the ability to control the effects with the X1.

This is something I would try. As a Traktor user, I keep waiting for Serato to catch up with all the features that Traktor offers. This program might just be the one that makes me finally say goodbye to Traktor.

I gave it a test, and there are 2 things I don't like for now : 1-The dynamic related tracks is weak compared to Rekordbox, you can't set any parameters for what it will filter. 2-On the Reloop Elite I couldn't find how to edit/change the 3 main FX of the mixer, I only managed to do it for the 1st slot. The UI is very packed, you don't always know where and what to look for, mostly for settings. I might not jump to it now but it looks promising. My setup is at this day : a Reloop Elite + Rekordbox 5 and VDJ as a backup. I do use Serato when doing some guests mixes. Could go full Djay if I can find the library power of Rekordbox in there.

I have the Numark MixStream Pro as my main set of decks. That’s got all my library synced from Tidal > Mixed in Key > Serato > Engine DJ > Dropbox (which takes aaaages) I’d love a way to use my Dropbox tracks in DJay as bought the Hercules Control mix to use with a UE Hyperboom at the beach/Garden etc. It’s a great bit of software but as it’s a 2nd source, the idea of setting every tunes cue points puts me off. Thankfully work force me to have one of those iPhone things over a proper phone so at least I have access to Algoriddims better software.

Traktor Soundcard A10 ans A6 work !! They are class compliant !!! I got an A10 and it works !! 🎉 i ve tried a Rane Sl 3 and a Pioneer Interface 2, unfortunately they don.t work !!!

Mojaxx what is your favorite DJ software currently? I like using Virtual DJ. I own pro versions of serato and rekordbox, but virtualdj UI and customization is better for me. This Algoriddim iOS stuff seems fantastic in concept, to use a regular mixer and this with an ipad vs a laptop or all-in-one controller for files. I've been on Pioneer gear since the 90s with the DJM-500, and used Vestax and Urei mixers with vinyl all along too. The insane range of possibilities today is overwhelming. Same with new music on bandcamp. I miss the 80s and 90s and buying 10 records a week, simpler times.

DJay used to be my primary platform, but it doesnt support sound switch which is essential for me. Right now I am using virtual djay and I like but dont love it. Virtual DJ gets a bad rap as does DJAY. They are both great software. I think the sound engine in DJAY especially after the 4.0 update is better, effects are better and the time stretching sounds better. My main requirement is to be able to play music videos and do soundswitch with automix as an option for when I need to step away from the decks. I could do all of this with serato, but it doesnt have automix so I cant step away. Also the way serato does streaming sources is clunky to put it nicely. If DJay would add soundswitch I would drop Virtual DJ. I do wish people would get over the software wars mentality. DJ software is more alike than it is different. Our audiences could care less about the gear, they just want to enjoy the music, use what works for you. We don't judge authors by what word processor they use, I don't judge djs by their kit but by what they do with it. That said what you can do on a phone now is pretty damn amazing. Monthly subscriptions for software I'm not interested in. When will there be a purchase price. Give us that option. I love Serato DJ Pro but would try this if a purchase upfront option is available.

yes it read my crates but to use my Serato tracks with video they first had to go into a playlist.I take a long time sorting my crates and now i have to do that again so i can play video ...er no.

I gigged with DJay for a number of years using only an iOS device and a Reloop controller which I loved but I stopped as soon as they lost Spotify - it’s a great software, looks and feels super polished but for 99% of DJ’s rekordbox/serato is all you’ll ever need…

Hi - I just picked up an S7 as algoriddim said my S9 is not supported for IOS. I am trying to get it to work but am having issues - Got Phase tone on LINE channels and coming through speakers but when I switch channel to USB A (where iPad Pro is) there’s no control. Fed up trying to get help at Algoriddim. Can anyone tell me if I’m doing something wrong or stupid. ? - Weird thing is that Djay hears the tone and links and i can control the Djay app platters . But its tone NOT music ! …. Any help much appreciated.

As you can tell in my name do you know what I'm on! Always has been the best even though Cerrado had so many other features I just always gravitated towards DJAY! Being a visually impaired DJ it has really upped my game better than a lot of DJs out here and I mean the high-paying ones! It's a great software and as someone said in the comments it's getting very interesting… And at this point I think a lot of other software companies are nervous.

i am not a fan of subs but i might make an exception with this as there is so much going on .I am old fashioned so i keep my music in crates on Serato from my hard drive or ssd.No clouds no streaming no subs.The ability to use dvs and generate stems on the fly like this is huge and i know that its time stretching is really good so creatively is amazing.Like i said i am not into subs but for this just this once i might do it though i wish they would have a retail version.The question is what the hell is Serato -Record Box etc doing?This dvs feature will turn djs heads.By the way Mojaxx maybe get an M1 or m2 Mac book Pro to give these new features a real going over because as i remember your Mac is a bit on the old side...just a thought.

STILL - No exporting and iCloud sync of Beatgrid / Grid Start between devices. The beatgrids are currently sandboxed within the iOS application. We need to be able to back them up in iCloud so they can be transferred across devices. Otherwise we cannot rely on our cue points being accurate.

I had used this on Android years ago but it's not updated for so long! it's useful when no other means are available like being on a beach or at an after party with no decks. It was great playing some tracks I had on my phone storage but you are limited. Shame it's pushed towards Mac and ios users. Android has no beatport streaming. Would love to jam with stems on the road 💪 However not sure if it's safe to use with a DVS setup playing live.... what happens when your phone rings?... will it cut off the music or are you forced to miss that call?? Then saying that chip sets in phones and tablets are just as powerful these days and we've had DVS on laptops 15 years ago with some iffy processors so yeah the tech is there just needs to come to android and windows pc versions.

Love the app on IOS but o hate the monthly subscription fees. Id rather buy it outright once and for all.

I just can't get my Denon DS1 to output audio with Djay Pro AI. My iPhone and Denon are connected properly, I see the DVS works in DJay Pro, but I can't get any audio out of the Denon DS1 to my A&H mixer .... no matter what settings I use in DJay Pro AI. Frustrating

It’s a shame Apple Music isn’t available to any virtual dj software on iOS as that’s a huge library that’s not accessible.

I trust Rane twelves pitch run out of sync with this aswell. Hate to think it was only a feature in serato

Did a pair of gigs with my iPad and iPhone using the platform together with a midi controller. Everything went well live but it crashed twice during test mixes at home. The app is not reliable and I will not use it again for work.

It's a very nice idea and dJay on iPad is very good. But iOS devices tend not to last as long as Macs / PCs. My Macbook Pro which was bought solely for DJ purposes lasted 11 years before it was retired. Most iOS devices only last half that time.

tried this with my Rane 12s which they say are supported but control was patchy.The Rane 72mk2 is not supported so no pad control.I like the stems thing but i cant justify buying another expensive mixer to use this.What the fuck is Serato doing?
