This is so beautiful and peaceful and the documentary about Boubacar's life where is from je Chanterai Pour toi is one of the most impressive music documentaries I have ever seen. It really made me cry.

Music Lives Best in Mali, and it Manifests it's self in other Countries that were in the very womb of Mali. those such as Gambia, my home country, Senegal, Mauritania, Gunue Bessau, and more.

It's true! Whenever I lose my bearings I listen to those two, Ballaké Sissoko, Toumani Diabaté and his father... Many more. It works instantly, I end up feeling selfish for whatever I was anxious/angry about and all is well. Greetings from France.

@principessa1984 this is in niafunke, ali's hometown. this is the old schoolhouse where his album "niafunke" was recorded. the release date on this film is 2002.

well improvise then:) I am from Bosnia and we have a writing system where every sound has its letter. We use modified standard Latin alphabet (ABC...) so the "Diarabi" would be "Đarabi"(Djarabi). If you are from Afrika* (you probably are since you understand Bambarra) you could try to use standard spelling you use for your native language. I will probably decipher it. Thanks any way! * this is how we spell Africa in Bosnia

I know what the theme of the song is :) I was just replying to mehmus and he was giving blessings to Ali Farka Toure, so I joined in. By the way, is there anything more divine than love?!? :) I would appreciate if you could write the actual lyrics to this song (not the translation). I know how to play it on guitar but I have to mimic the words so I sounds different every time :)

well, i dont know how to spell the writing of language BAMBARRA. the words are spelled differently the actual "a-b-c-d-e...z" they write it differently. i only know how to speak it.
