He does not regret Vietnam and would not change sides, he thinks when should a country nuke another country is an excellent question...he has little empathy and is a dangerous thinking man. Sacha exposed him for that. That is the point, and you missed it.

Soldiers are impossible to hate. We don't put on airs and we don't bullshit. Sacha realised because he wasn't getting any ego, stupidity or bs off the guy, that he wasn't gonna get anywhere, so he just tried to make his own lines funny and respected the guy. Normally he finds a severe character flaw and plays into it... It was probably refreshing to just have someone be nice but also not an idiot. ......he still tried to 'suprise' him at the end again though 😆 probably because he realised the interview was kind of a dud
