Not really most people do not get drafted to War, but they go anyway. Ali didn’t and besides Ali wouldn’t of been in Actual Combat but basically Giving Boxing Exibitions like Joe Louis did. thesly74 Yup. John Wayne didn't want to interrupt his acting career so he used his Hollywood connections to stay out of the service. Other entertainers like Henry Fonda, Kirk Douglas, Audie Murphy and Glen Miller, enlisted and served. What's ironic about Wayne is that he appeared in many war films and was a tremendous war monger.
