I actually write on anything and anywhere, I find paper and I just write, my thoughts are every where, I look back at them like wow I wrote that during my training day at work or I was just waiting for my drink. Thoughts come to mind and I write it, it's like an itch - I have to write it so I can remember! My writing are nostalgic it's always remind of person, place or thing, similar to photographic memory! It's a beautiful healthy way to engage in life aspects, understanding and as well as myself!

I journal every night on my Samsung tablet. It's the best tool to process thoughts and reactions to any matter, situation, or people. When I go back and read it, I realize not all my opinions are justified or correct. Rather than be impulsive and jump to any conclusions. It helps me rely on myself rather than depend on the external world. It's building the habit of trusting my gut.......

I've been journaling everynight for 22 days straight. My intent is to do it for 180 days. Instead of dates I count down from 180. I also only write 2-3 lines per entry summing up my day and things I am grateful for (e.g started on entry no. 180 now on no.160.) I also deleted all of my social media profiles. I have been really content with life these past few weeks.

Fantastic! I Love Day One . I can’t believe you don’t use it’s best feature and that is being able to take entry from just audio. I use this daily on my commute into work while I’m driving by myself. Because I like to read the text as well I will use justpressrecord and then import into day one. Extra step yes but it removes all friction of typing if you are not able to when the mood strikes.

Just remember this: your journal is simply a conversation with yourself. A problem shared is a problem halved, and this is true of journalling. You're not doing it for anyone but yourself. It's about slowing your stream of consciousness, reflecting on yourself, ejecting mental static and discovering who you really are.

I journaled every single day in 2023❤❤🎉🎉.....that was a big deal for me. It was wonderful and really helped in so many ways. I used free style and guided prompts depending on the day....sometimes I journaled in the morning or night and sometimes both. Some people really benefit using a commonplace junk journal which is everything and anything....journaling, painting, sketching, collecting plane tickets, movie stubs, concert tickets, menus, recipes, song lyrics, quotes, good books....whatever but some people say that opens a new world for them. ❤

So, any distance that you can create from your own mind and body functions as a lubricant for life. Essentially when you pen down your thoughts or journal, you distance away from them. This distance is the lubricating factor which helps you firstly to calm down, be less overwhelmed and be more motivated to manage your thoughts (because they don't scare you now).

An interesting conundrum people face when you work FOR other people rather than WITH them is that it can be very, very difficult to tell the difference between thoughts/feelings you can share with your co-workers and bosses, and those that are liable to get you into trouble. When I started my first job two years ago, It was actually very easy to share how I was feeling, and make my co-workers aware of my difficulties and anxieties. Two years later, there have been two occasions where me sharing my thoughts (in a way I thought was measured and sensible) has nearly gotten me sacked, or my supervisors have agreed with me (just so they don't have to listen to me whine anymore.) And it has become very difficult for me to feel that my thoughts and feelings are anything but invalid.
