Hi Everyone! Welcome To My Channel "Ali Academy Biology Lectures"
About This Video ........................
In This Video Lecture You Will Learn Basic Concept Of Mechanisms of opening and closing of stomata
The guard cells function as multisensory hydraulic valves. Environmental factors, such as
light intensity and quality, temperature, relative humidity, and intracellular CO2
sensed by guard cells and these signals are integrated into well-deined stomatal responses.
guard cells (during night) water leaves the guard cells by exosmosis and guard cells become laccid
There are two hypotheses which may explain the opening and closing of stomata.

About This Channel.....................
I make these videos cause I love to draw and connect the complexity of science and medicine into art. I'm not saying. I'm 100% correct in all my videos, but I do try to obtain the information from credible sources.
One-stop destination for all biology lectures.
_ students in class 11, 12 or appearing for competitive medical exams ( NMDCAT ) will find it very beneficial
_ The videos are categories under various heading to make the students life simplified

First theory is Starch-sugar conversion but you have explain only glucose levels during day and night time, what about starch conversion???
@asimo526
@asimo526 4 ай бұрын
In daylight, with abundant light, guard cells undergo photosynthesis. This reduces CO2 levels and increases the pH inside the cells. The higher pH activates enzymes that convert starch stored in the guard cells to sugars like glucose-1-phosphate. These sugars increase the water potential (turgor pressure) of guard cells through osmosis, causing them to swell and open the stomata.

Nice video but sir in day time osmotic potential which is solute potential increases in guard cell only water potential decrease so water comes from outside to inside plz correct me if am wrong?
@quyyumasghar4175
@quyyumasghar4175 2 жыл бұрын
Water potential and Solute potential are two different things. During daytime, water potential inside the cell decrease. and Yes! you're right.

@Rida Rasheed....yeah u r right....since I have been watching this video today so it's little late reply ... I have got same doubt while attending this lecture and inside guard cell osmotic potential will increase and water potential will decrease due to which water moves from outside to guard cell and stomata opens..........vice versa with stomatal closure case...sir has done mistake in osmotic potential explanation.
