Well I don’t think that this film is very realistic to begin with.. It’s also set in an alternate universe. And in this universe Japan police have big guns in their cars. And since a zombie outbreak is also happening Im sure they are glad they had those big guns lol.

1:26 there's so much meaning behind this scene it's insane. On one hand it's the inane zombie stuff, but on the other hand it's a metaphor. The girl is a "depressive" malcontent wearing blue. She's a broken person, she bumps into someone (Alice) looking for an emotional connection. Alice recognizes she's not like the others. And like all broken people, she lashes out at others to stop feeling inferior to them. She ends up biting the cookie-cutter looking guy who looks like he has his life together, as a way to regain her dignity. Alice then realizes the world isn't normal again, she's back in the hellworld where she has to fight off broken people and reprobates.

The chain also has a deeper meaning, it symbolizes her attachment to what she is and not who she wants to be, therefore it binds her to the fact that she can never be truly human and it’s kinda sad.

Look we all know the movies aren’t amazing in terms of writing or adding to the series much, but if you take them as they are they are a lot of fun and good popcorn movies. I also liked the visual style in Retribution, it was cool. Really love Alice and Mila does a great job playing the role. I hope we get to see her in one of the games one day as a side character or even a cameo. They finally added the lasers from the first movie in the newest DLC they did in 4 remake so I still have hope to see Alice somehow in a game.

I think the biggest problem with these movies, they started to take away the action from an action packed scene by slowing it down. 1 maybe 2 fights, ok. But afterlife and retribution were just ridiculous.

blame the editor 😂 he used like every clip that was given to him even though he only needs a few + he keeps going back and forth with the same scene which makes you dizzy because it only lasts for .5 seconds every movement 😭

Probably Anderson listened to the critisms towards afterlife and returbution for the overly use of slow motion and tried in 6 to film it in actual motion but he realised it looked like crap and made it completely chaotic so we couldn't see the bad staging
