This may have not been the best adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, but you do have to admire Tim Burton and the visual effects crew for creating such a creative world with just some green screens.

It's amazing how artistic and realistic the backgrounds looked, even though they were fantasy backgrounds. I applaud the visual artists and everyone who worked on this. And poor Johnny Depp, having to wear all of that clothing and makeup.

Watching All the behind the scenes stuff before I take in the finished product. (I was brought up on the Goon Show, Monty Python and Faulty Towers) these type of movies are a blast. I absolutely love Their acting craft. Interesting also that although LC's universe as experienced thru the books and subsequent movies are used as a base, but then enhanced thru TB's vision and then amplified even futher through JD's imagination. Many different person's 'intuition' incorperated into the final product.

Oh my God... it must be very difficult to act this way... without special effects or a real scenery to interact with. You have to use all your imagination and be serious while doing it! It's gonna be tough for me if I wanna do this....

In today's movies and TV there's a lot more digitally created material than you would think, and not just in fantasy movies like Alice. Set extensions, background replacements, compositing, digitally created characters... Once you learn to appreciate the art of the visual effects people, you can't call it laziness. It's one more tool in cinematography, and a pretty damn amazing one.

that's how it works - shot with green/blue backround etc. and then the things that were green are changed into what you need it to be on the computer. Sooo many things in films now are just made and added thanks to the computers...

I love Alice In Wonderland. I suppose I kind of live in a wonderland myself. I'm obsessed with fantasy and the unknown world and that's why I love these types of movies. Green screen is the best thing that's ever happened in my opinion! :D xxx

I find it so incredibly interesting to see behind the scenes footage of films and watching how the scenes went down and how the actors really look. I find it almost breath taking to watch Johnny Depp. I could watch him for hours on end, just taking in every little tiny detail. It's... wow!

People like to hate on this kind of acting, with a lot of green screen, but I truly believe that this is one of the most difficult forms of acting. Acting with nothing around you but a bunch of cameras. You need to be VERY skilled to do this. You literally have to tap into your inner child and play pretend again.

It's amazing what they can do with cinema these days, i never would have guessed the backgrounds were originally green and superimposed! JD still looks hot haha
