i will never forget her in GHOST STORY (1981), she truly made that film and acted Fred Astaire, Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jnr and john Houseman off the screen in that movie

Funny thing, her accent. She usually speaks with a near-perfect British accent, as she has lived in Britain for a long time, but she is originally from South Africa and presumably Afrikaans-speaking, which one can still hear. But this?

I am not feeling the American accent. There were a good number of horror movies out in the early eighties. Ghost Story was the first time I saw her, and my age was still in the single digits. I remember the ghoulish, decaying character, but I could NEVER shake her simple, effortless beauty and sensual nature of her accent and speech.

Actually I'm Russian but when I found out about Alice extreme and when I saw the movies in which she is made how good she is actress I wanted to be the same as she is at the moment I try to learn English and so far I have

Я немец и изучал Русский Язык самостоятельно. Свое английское очень хорошо. Смотри, в США сделали фильмы, чьих главные актёры явились Славянскими. В фильме Гостбастерс в 1984 году, Сербская актрица Славица Йовен поиграл главый антагонист "Гозэр". Тогда, её английское не было отлично. Но, она была очень талантливая актрица. Из-за того, расрешили дубляж для её волос. Талент наиважное. Удачи!

She is from South Africa and Afrikaans (they call them "Kaffers" I think) speak ebonics which she does not. She's sexy, but I didn't get the humor in Sleepwalker...

Why the hell is she talking like that? Did her agents insist she not speak in her normal South African accent? That's pretty dumb. Almost as if to suggest: "they'll like you more if you don't sound like yourself." And we all know another, even more popular, South African actress who does the same thing at all times. wtf?

Maybe , that’s what Gillian Anderson did during her stint on the X-Files, in interviews she used her amazing American accent she had for the show , it wasn’t till the show ended thats he started doing her lovely natural British voice. People must have got a shock back then and then a double shock when we found out she wasn’t a red head lol

@@DaraGaming42 I wondered about that. Throughout the years seeing her on screen it’s a constant switch between red and brown. Not sure what her natural hair color is tbh. Lol! But I think the red is sexy. Just my opinion.

@@DaraGaming42 yus, but not all of them pull it off so beautifully. Her shade of red in season 10 of Spooks was gorgeous, along with young Christabella in Silent Hill. Thinking to myself, hmm, yes, keep it like that please. I’m such a simp for a red head. 😂😂

I'm a fan, and have been, since I first saw her in Barfly. Classy lady, and very magnetic on screen, and here in this interview. It seems to come natural for her.
