I personally really love that she chose to speak in her mother tongue - I think it shows the love she has for her country and what this award meant to her.

I was wondering why is she speaking in English when the festival is in Goteberg (Sweden). Then I understood that it's for Scandinavia so she needs to speak in a language everyone understands.

she didn't have to do that because of the other scandinavian countries, everyone from there would understand because all three Scandinavian languages are pretty similar. She did it because there was international media there from non Scandinavian countries.

She was in her home country, speaking her native language. That's not ridiculous, and not a waste of time because we understand it, which I think was the point!!
