Here I was thinking that this bass was 2 recordings dubbed over in a video via editing hahaha. You're an innovator, Indicator. By vindicating the validity of your bass with this video you have become Indicator the innovative vindicator. Godamn that just sounds so fucking badass. Even if it doesn't really make perfect sense grammatically speaking. Most people with enough common sense and a little shitty humor will get the joke as implied. P. S. That comedic gold bitches ;)

Your poly sub bass sounds like it’s coming along nicely too, bro. You should post more vids of you showing it off🔥🔥 do you have any tips for people trying to learn poly sub bass that you feel like could’ve helped you when you were learning this?
@shredder96432 жыл бұрын
@@alkmibeats2133 thanks bro! The biggest thing for me being able to do alien bass even to this day is whether or not my chest, throat and nasal passages are clear and not full of flem or mucus or my chest being all weezy. Gotta have clear passageways for it to work. Even so I usually gotta warm up for 10 or so minutes to get the 3rd part of that register to harmonize and come in clearly. People should just realize that you don't have to push hard or strain at all. It's not like any other bass used in beatboxing. You will feel the first to registers almost fold together when the 3rd one finally connects for you and it will be almost effortless. You just have to kinda work on getting used holding that almost, vocal fry, you have to do to initiate the 2 key parts that makeup alien bass. It's not a natural feeling for those who haven't done it before cuz it's almost non-stop noise you're projecting. It's constant aside from the few breathing breaks that're tastefully located throughout the piece. Learning breath control is a big thing on this one too Id say. Otherwise you'll be left gasping for air coming back up on the next measure and you won't be able to stick that 3rd subharmonic register cuz your throat isn't relaxed

I kinda knew that it was mostly subharmonics as soon as I heard the song, as subharmonic sounds are very distinctive and powerful and can sound very robotic, and this technique is similar to overtone singing, so it’s a form of overtone singing done with subharmonic techniques, the overtones being the elements that create the robotic / alien sound, so it helps a lot if one already knows how to do overtone singing and how to control the overtones - for me, it’s naturally very easy to use the subharmonic techniques, including the more advanced ones that sound very robotic, as I learned the regular subharmonic technique years ago together with overtone singing, plus my chest voice can go very low around A0 or lower using the subharmonic technique and around A1 or G1 using the humming technique, even though I am not a dude, so I got the robotic sounds after practicing subharmonics for a few days,, but I have difficulty with the other technique that is based on the chest bass sound that uses the false vocal cords, which I cannot control at the moment, so I have to practice the chest bass sound more!

Fun fact: the subharmonic note that the “nasal component” is making is actually an UNDERTONE, not an overtone, since an octave under the true vocal chords’ note is being produced by the nasal subharmonic. Thank you so much for this tutorial though, big up’s to you my friend, this is a very special bass indeed and one that I along with many others have been waiting to add to our repertoire! You just earned yourself a subscriber!

lmao yeah I can explain it do you have time for a discoed call? I can’t do poly sub bass because it’s so difficult to maintain both subharmonic basses but I can do both separately
@alkmibeats21333 жыл бұрын
DrizlaXgaming basically there’s a type of bass that’s not very often-used in the beatbox world but is a pretty well known technique in the vocal singing world, it’s called subharmonic register. It’s a different kind of vocal bass than throat or chest bass because it just uses your true vocal chords, nothing else. What it is is basically a perfect 50-50 ratio balance of chest voice (your regular non-falsetto singing voice) and outward vocal fry. If you get a perfect blend of both happening at the same time, you can get a pitch that’s an octave under your regular singing voice’s note. Unlike throat bass, it’s smooth and sounds in timbre like your regular singing voice, just an octave lower. It’s almost the exact opposite of throat bass in terms of tension and constriction, requiring a very finessed looseness. If you want a rare example in the beatbox world, zureck’s/xureck’s “insane vocal fry technique” shoutout video is him using subharmonic register bass to a beautiful degree of control. Enel’s “electric bass” is a type of subharmonic register, but using the “tight jayton voice” instead of the regular, uncompressed chest voice. What indicator’s poly sub bass is, is you’re producing a subharmonic register note projected through your NASAL cavity, and then ALSO singing a subharmonic register note projected through your ORAL or THROAT cavity, the resulting harmonization or resonance I guess between the two creates a lower, third tone. This tone is poly sub bass. Again, it’s super difficult especially if you’re not used to singing or used to throat bass to even do subharmonic register bass well. Doing two at the same time using the nose-mouth simultaneous singing projection is even more difficult. But obviously, can be executed cleanly with practice. Hope that clears up some stuff

I just tried it out and I think I got it, starting to understand what you mean by third step being both mouth and nose (I think that’s what you said). Just gotta keep practicing. When I do the bass it also takes me bit to get the bass going, it starts bad at first then it starts to come together so you can’t do it well on the spot unless you make them wait a few min lol.

@@victorvitez7328 I think the way he explained it wasn’t very good. There isn’t really sound coming from the nose, but just an subharmonic sound from the nose. Basically the way I do this is to do 2nd subharmonic bass (not second note but second subharmonic) kinda mixed with the normal subharmonic.
