I love how the Alien actually acts cautiously around the player when the flamethrower is equipped. Great detail.

One small problem: The alien AI learns over time, it has several behaviours and responses to stimuli locked at the beginning of the game, which slowly unlock as you progress. For instance, at first the Alien will be distracted by flares, but if it sees you throw one and you survive the encounter, from that point on he will look for the point of origin of the flare throw, rather than the flare itself. This is most apparent with the flamethrower, where once the Alien knows what it is, it is steadfast and approaches you cautiously, instead of rushing towards you and getting burned.

When I got the shotgun and encountered an Alien with it, I thought I could paint (and melt) the wall with its blood. I even yelled 'Eat this!' like Hicks did in the second movie just for the spirit of it. ...it goes without saying that I got an early game over from it, lol

Unfortunately we will probably never see Alien Isolation 2. According to CA the game only sold a meager 2 million copies. They barely hit the break even. Which kinda sucks because the game was actually very well received and praised. Probably just bad marketing on their end.

This was cool - most players don't use their items nearly enough to get a sense of what they can do. The (admittedly limited) effectiveness of the smoke bomb and shotgun was surprising, though.

The bolt gun at the start, the alien is like "really bro ?! REALLY ?!?"

Imagine when the alien threw you to the floor when you're holding the revolver and its little mouth comes out and you put the barrel in it and fire

I thought they should have had this mechanic in the game, instead of "killing" a xenomorph, something like a point blank shotgun headshot, direct pipe bomb/molotov hit, or fully charged bolt gun body or head shot should knock the alien on its ass for a few seconds, have it wriggle in pain, and the run away at top speed. Like you fucked it up badly and it retreated.

0:30 The Xenomorph takes a cautious step towards the player before beginning to walk her way, waiting for the retaliation before deciding on moving in and closing the distance. I absolutely LOVED that!!!

For fun once I lured the alien into a massive pile of 3 flash bangs 3 pipe bombs 3 molotovs 3 smoke bombs and 3 emp mines. Shit almost crashed my game 😂

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the shotgun can chase away the alien if you keep shooting it faster, while it's not charging at you. very expensive, 3 or 4 shots I think

I'm surprised the shotgun offered more resistance than the bolt gun I shot a man with full charge that it popped his neck up and tucked his head under neath his shoulder I popped that alien with it and it stopped dead still and turned around slowly like AW HELL NO

One thing that made me mad was that once you basically had all the weapons and had powerful equipment, and you were thrown in an area swarming with the beasts that had been terrorizing you for the entire game, you couldn't do anything against them. I believe that at least the bolt gun should've been able to put an alien down since the bastards are *not* immortal.

I always use Flashbang, Noisemaker and Flares to distract the Alien. To make him retreat I recommend Molotov and Pipe Bombs (make him go back to the ducts instantly).

I always wondered if the light from the objects (especially the Molotov) gave the alien a higher chance of seeing you.

Most of these weapons should’ve done some serious damage to the xeno. But I know I know...it would’ve taken away from the entire point of survival and evasion.

Playing this nest section of the game was one of my best gaming experience. Just imagine for myself running and gunning aliens with my team. Really wish to make some day good Colonial marines game. And please, make Alien isolation 2.

The fact that the Shotgun can't outright murder this thing is somewhat disturbing, since in the movies, they Clearly hurt the Aliens.

Shotgun is good for destroing eggs (why waste flamethrower) and its main role is taking down androids. One or two shots to the head from close range will do the job. As for the Flare and Noisemaker didnt Xeno get used to it the more you use it? I mean the devs say that he learn so i guess he should not stare on them for 16+ second the second or third time.

The only thing i haye about this game is how bulletproof the xenos are. Like seriously... A pipe bomb didnt make it explode to bits? A bolt gun didnt penetrate its skin at all? Or a fuckin revolver didnt explode its head? Much more.. a shotgun cant blow it away? And like the revolver, not make it explode to bits?

Shotguns really good at running away. Also you can see that it makes the alien bleed.

I find it ridiculous the pipe bomb and guns cant outright kill them. I know they needed an invincible monster to keep up the tension but once you get to act 2 and realize theres a whole hive on the space station they could have at least started limiting the rule. Hell Hicks killed one in Aliens with an old 12 gauge Ithica pump and Vasquez point blanked one with an old 9mm Smith and Wesson. Shit Goremans gun was a 9 too, not that he got to use it, so the arguement of "well the marines had superior weapons/ammo" just doesnt hold water.

Tried an everything i have plant trap but still couldn't kill it- i know its a game rule but sigh. You do get to see it fall down to its death in the sythetics factory (where you see those carbonite like slabs swinging across), i think its a game glitch where the alien is dropped into the scene in an odd place, flops over the rails and the ground scenary below has no collision detection and just falls to infinity till you re-enter the areas from a different door- the humans even shoot at it!

I hit it with everything. A good shotgun blast would rock it long enough to flee. So long as you broke line of sight. Near the end level I had place firebombs and pipe bombs all over the place and all it did was piss it off and made it ten times more aggressive. It took me two days to get to the part where you talk to Verlaine about the docking clamps. Thank God for saves on each end of the long corridor. Without them I might never have got through that section on hard after antagonizing it. I seriously had less trouble in the nest

One thing i found absolutely ridicolous is that a the Bolt gun and Pike Bombs cant kill or at the very least severely cripple the Alien. Like come on, the bomb should at the very least blow its feet off

I finished game on hard, and i never learnd how to use pipe bomb, smoke, flare and shotgun on alien... lol i was so bad in this game XD. I was using pipe bombs on androids XD and smoke on humans.

Though it's annoying and also kind of disturbing that the Alien can ignore _shotgun blasts to the face_, I'm surprised by how it still actually works, compared to the revolver. I can't help but wonder if it's loaded with like birdshot or something like that, something that doesn't have the raw power of buckshot but that's still fatal to human beings. I'm glad smoke bombs and flashbangs work on a creature with no eyes though. I've rarely, if ever, used smoke bombs due to a fear of both attracting the Alien and then not being able to SEE the Alien once it shows up, but it's nice to see that it actually works. Does the explosion of it tip it off to your position? Funny story re: pipe bombs - the first time I used one, I actually placed it below the vent that the Alien comes out of when you're in the medical center (so basically at the point where it's finally hunting you), and hid under the gurney kind of close to it, just to see how it would react and if it would just instantly "NOPE" back up into the vent. When the bomb went off, it somehow _instantly_ knew where I was and killed me. True story.

you have a shitload of flame thrower ammo on that lvl, on hard mode you only have enough ammo to make it to the next save station if you run like hell that is haha
