The funny thing is .... the story is GREAT. In fact its amazing, and fully ties the plots of Aliens 2 and Aliens 3 together. The game designers actually did something that film makers couldnt.

Only reason I watch this is because I ran out of Alien movies and this is Canon

When the game first came out, I played it with a friend. I was so excited, sounding off film trivia and getting immersed into it. There was a lot of things I liked, the layout of the scenes, including on the Sulaco and Hadley's Hope. The Easter Eggs, audio logs, dog-tags, and the legendary weapons were good, in my opinion. Over time, however, it started dawn on me the game's flaws, not only plot wise, but also technically. Some of the plot was predictable. Then some of it was 'WHAT?! WHY?!' Even before the true ending came, I already knew what was going to happen. When it did, my friend asked 'How'd you know?' I replied, "I just do." We played it together just once. After that, the game just sat there while I watched 'Aliens' and forgot it existed.

I grew up with James Cameron's Aliens and I skipped getting this game at first because of bad reviews, but then I got it cheap, played it and loved it! The Stasis Interrupted DLC was really good too! I really don't understand the bad reviews, more than the AI can be buggy sometimes and the graphics, I don't think were really that bad at all, but they were a bit dated for the year it came out. With those 2 flaws though, I still loved the game. There was so much fan service, I loved the locations, the weapons and classic sound effects from the movie, the score, the voice actors, damn near everything. 4/5 stars from me

At 1:12:06 it becomes very interesting. I never knew about the placenta of those Alien embryos. It's amazing, the more I go through the Alien-related games I get the impression that movie makers should probably work together with game designers and let them tell the story. For instance, Alien Isolation could deliver the storyline to a sequel in between Alien and Aliens.

i never understood why corporation wanted xenomorphs so badly. sure, it's fascinating lifeform, but is it really good investment? why they didn't rather explored technology in that alien ship? advanced armor, computers, weaponry, FTL drives...don't tell me this isn't much more profitable.

just one single drop from a face-hugger in the original movie went through like 4 decks of the ship, but in this game apparently they don't even bleed acid at all anymore, no need to even stand back from them while shooting them. the floor doesn't melt after they fall down dead, nobody gets burned, nothing. the aliens are incredibly weak and stupid and non-threatening in this. when u see one, just shoot it and move on. they show up 4 at a time, just shoot them and move on. one jumps directly on you, just shove it off, no big deal, shoot it and move on. they only did the "coming out of the walls" thing one time. no grabbing you from under the floor while you're shooting like what happened to Hudson, no ambushes/traps like Resurrection, instead of using the air vents they just run out in the open and let you mow them down. meanwhile they keep referencing Alien 3, where right now as this nonsense is happening just ONE alien is killing everybody in the entire prison by itself because durrrr it knows how to use the air vents and ambush people. the aliens in this game as worthless as the one in covenant that went around banging its head on things and walking directly into traps without a fight. when did xenos get so lame?

Playing on PC? Time to replay, because the AI's been fixed! Or, rather, YOU must fix it. There's a typo in the code for the PC version that prevents the Xenomorph AI from properly reading the room data. Seriously, a typo - ONE LETTER. The xenomorph AI is CONSIDERABLY more challenging once fixed, even on lower difficulties. Numerous guides now exist as to how to do it.

i don't know why they consider this to be a bad game. i got it and the dlc and to me it turned out to be great. i always wanted them to make the sequel that should have been made from alien 3 but they made this instead.

Honestly, xenomorphs would make fantastic terrorism weapons, but as far as real military application goes, I feel all the effort is just wasted; a conventional army with modern-for the time in-universe-weaponry would honestly be more versatile, reliable and overall better.

if anything the amo on the pulse riffle is incorrect its supposed to be 99 not 40. the sound from the riffles are semi good. you guys want to play an alien game this what we get. otherwise play the aliens vs predator game thats more accurate not story wise but weapons wise. i love the first 2 alien movies saw prometheus and thought ok this is an ok film when i say alien covenant i was like what the hell thats not how it was supposed to be.

I love how poorly the audio matches with the actual game. You can tell Michael Biehn phoned it in with this role, meanwhile O’Neal’s voice actor gives it his all but the limited engine prevents his facial movements matching what he’s doing so his character is screaming with his voice breaking from stress as his character models’ mouth lifelessly flaps open and shut out of sync. Literally the soundtrack and arguably the story are the only good parts of this steaming pile of shit. What I wouldn’t give for a full rehaul of the engine and audio, problem is I’m a console peasant so I can’t mod the shit out of it to fix it either.

Played this the last couple days to experience the shitness for myself with the ACM Overhaul mod and some graphics mods, still looked horrible, played horrible with most hits / deaths feeling cheap and some boss battles that literally had no skill elements and purely were based on luck. Sound, story, and audio logs range from serviceable to good but is not enough to elevate the game above a 5/10 at best and 2 of those points come from the mods installed. Sad thing is there is a heartbeat to this game and with enough time in the UE3 editor some people could breath the life in to this game to make it what it should have been. Those people would need to be very dedicated but its possible.

I can understand why they would botch this game so badly over the years it's actually quite amazing it just needed a few touch ups and needed a few fixes that's all it needed some time to make it perfect before its deadline I think they rushed it and I kind of had a few flaws which are repairable but in the programming that's all you had to do is also a few warnings in the program it should be back up the park or at a patch but I heard all the horrible stories about this game but if you actually look at other games and you look at this game this game looks absolutely f****** amazing I mean the graphics are amazing explosions are amazing weapons are cool I mean the the aliens are awesome Scott incredible voice similarity to The Originals and I loved it I mean I couldn't believe it at first ten bucks after all the bashing I mean it's just imagine what type does to a game I mean I thought it was great I couldn't understand why they were so mean about it I mean it was awesome
