My dad claims he sees weird lights that seem to move in the forest that surrounds the house he's finishing. It's on land he bought years ago, he sees these lights and maybe hears weird noises when he stays in the house overnight. There is no power and no working lights yet, so it is pitch black outside. There should be no lights reflecting off of anything down there, and there's not that many people near the house either.

We have our fair share of cryptids and hauntings, so I can guarantee you won't be bored just learning about them. North Carolina is a pretty haunting state.

After that ufo sighting Id be running too! That light painting video sounds really cool. I saw some ufos in the 80s and 90s, plus at least one missing time experience when I was 13 in Silver Creek Idaho. Im happy you got to see the Milky Way for the first time. Thats how amazed I felt up in the mountains years ago before I was trapped by city life. One of the best sightings I had was seeing the exact same formation of two solid white and one blinking red lights 3 weeks and 500 miles apart. The way that orange light you saw zipped backwards was no meteor. Im glad you got away from whatever those footsteps belonged to. Thats just nuts!

Well, what made me think of your experience. The reversed ”shooting star” could be explained as a military drone, for example. On the other hand, I see many UFO or alien abduction experiences as manifestation of the spirit world, that takes the shape of present day culture. The very concept of aliens as extraterrestrials is quite new, the concept of UFO as well. Alien abductions often take the form of sleep paralysis, and sleep paralysis is a much older and widespread phenomenon, that can very well be explained most better as manifestations of the spirit world. So, since spirits can, at least very often, shapeshift, it makes sense that experience regarding aliens are, at least some of them, experiences with spirits. Regarding yourself, you shared with us from your experiences regarding the supernatural, like when you were back in Seattle and had that wendigo-like experiences. And not just those. It would make a lot of sense that there is at least one spirit attached to you, doing things. One or more. Both those and this new experience can a manifestation of the same beings. Also, being a desert, away from Human habitation, many spiritual beings can reside there, a thing that is well known by many spiritual traditions. Perhaps you and the crew were considered some sort of intruders. Or a combination of your old companions with some local thing? We can not rule out that. But, most likely just some old companion/companions from the spirit world.
