I've really enjoyed that Michael is a mainstay now. The fact he has his own Roman style armor to bring is just the cherry ontop.

Yeah, they have this tendency to have great guest players (Michael, James "Mr. Initiavite" Jones, Jind, Tanya the Warmistress, etc.) that over time become kind of part of the family. And I like it. Great players make for great games.

I really do enjoy the First Blood Games, they are quick and interesting and don't bring in those awful rectangles and squares. The Old Dominion, I swear between that and the Nords bringing the Giants I feel like this game was based off of Dominions. I got my Tempered Sorcerer finished as a Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer and will be playing it as a Rune-Priest in AoS.

I like the reinforcement system of heavier units arriving later in Last Argument of Kings, but I think that only really works with more units than this, or else become way to dice-dependent. Nice quick action with this version, though it didn't seem like a particularly large amount of meaningful positioning choices are necessary, especially when wiping the other side off the table turns out to be the winning move.

Salve is pronounced like this (sawl-way) and then there is also goodbye which is pronounced (wall-ate-A) I take Latin in school so ye :/ but keep up the great vids

I was chewing it over when he said it and thought it was wrong also lol. If you think of the other European languages that have similar words like "Salut" (or anything else derived from Salve) there isn't a "v" And we know that v's were used in carvings instead of u's - e.g Julius was always engraved as _Jvlivs_ So I would personally pronounce it "sal-oo-ay" but then again we weren't there so I guess we'll never know lol

17:46 So if they instead turned the other way and ran for the hills, maybe tagging the objective one last time, Tycho would've won with something like 23:20 points, right? Much more cinematic choice to charge in! But that makes me wonder whether an objective marker based scoring system was a good choice for this. You should never have to choose the unimmersive route to win, imho.

There’s two seperete rule sets using the same miniatures. First blood. And last argument of kings.

Are you able to post the OD list? I don't know how you fit so many models in 800 pts. From what I put together that list is 910 points without account for any items/upgrades.

Have the rules for Conquest changed? My only exposure to this game system has been through PlayOn but I noted that in previous games there was an element of rolling each turn to bring in new models, whereas in this game they deployed everything upfront before the game started. Also, I may be misremembering, but didn't the bases used to be square and units would move around in blocks?

Oudated Scenario, they released 12 new ones last week. Normally though in First Blood objectives are the most important part of the game and leaving them uncontested is crazy.

Yeah, in playtesting we found that if you take the fastest units you can hit the objectives first turn and that could lead to the game finishing real quick. So they new scenario pack that came out has a higher point ceiling and often times they're testing out different ways to score points (like destroying enemy monuments and the like)

I'm lost...This isn't warhammer in 40 minutes. Where am I?...Regardless, tonite on POT gear: The Spire becomes a huge attraction for Ireland (seriously, it's a massive pole in ireland that lights up whenever there is a new star wars film out.) The old dominion wishes it was the young dominion as time slowly sneaks up on us all and Steve is out somewhere fondling dice at casinos to curse them so that the house always loses.

I don't know the rules that much, but without ranged attacks, units ambushing, or other movement tricks, basically the game ends up being a big brawl in the middle of the table. What am I missing? because this doesn't seem very exciting.

The game has all that. Ranged attacks, something like ambushing, alot of command abilities and spells that affect movement enemies and victory points. You can see all that if you check out their army builder.

There are other units that are ranged and/or have movement abilities, it just so happened that neither of these armies brought any. There are also other scenarios/modes that are a bit less grindy iirc. Play On has more Conquest videos on their channel that show those game modes/units if you're interested.
