Aligning Gaussian Splat with Footage using Syntheyes, Metashape, After Effects, Postshot & irrealix

2 ай бұрынSorry for the terrible microphone quality, my laptop manufacturer spent all the money on the GPU and forgot about the microphone...
For this extremely long winded and soon to be out-dated tutorial, you will need:
- Syntheyes
- Metashape (plus this script: export_for_gaussian_splatting.py found on the Metashape Github page)
- After Effects (plus the irrealix Gaussian Splatting Plugin)
- Postshot
Let's hope someone comes up with a better solution for this soon.

This is what I've been trying to find for the longest time. I made a VFX vid where you could look through a portal and see to the other side (like the videogame portal), and to create the transition as the camera moved through, I used Gaussian Splats. I had to align the camera manually with the GS scan, which was an absolute chore. I'll keep this in mind for next time!

Watch corridor digital. Is there a way to do a room scan or a hall space accurately marker it to a phone ar movement. ? Jetset i heard works a bit but there is no post solution to this. Please take a random marvel scene mid complex enough, an try to do it via this method. I currently looking for a end to end pipeline before starting my own projects.

There its easy, because the Corridor doesn't have to be exactly placed in the scene.
