Just put in the 445u. Coming from someone who runs 100-200 watts per mod in my other vehicle. This thing has some good power. On stock mids/highs rn. Mclaren mids next week

Yeah it's more powerful than the Alpine radios. The one I had in my Jeep Liberty CRD was 45 Watts Peak not RMS. This is much more power. I'm putting a 445u in my Tacoma to power my kicker speakers with a powered sub too. I want a nice sounding system that isn't too over the top. I like the factory head unit and prefer not to have an aftermarket radio because people still like to steal those.

There’s a comment here that I can relate to. Retaining the factory subwoofer in an 04 Pilot. I had seen a video using the KTP-190U previously and was leaning that way. Having seen your video and answer about a stinger 2 channel or a Boss CE102, I’m having second thoughts about the Alpine-190U. I love my Pilot….but not enough to spend $$$$ on a new sub and amp. I’m planning on replacing the head unit with a JVC KW-56OBT. The question is, since you made the video and answered the post it’s been over three years. Is there something you would now recommend that’s newer? Truly appreciate your answer. Thanks in advance.

is the KTP-445A too weak for Alpine R- series speakers ?

I only have a 10 amp fuse in my truck and I have an alpine head unit, I bought the one specific for the head unit and it’s plug and play but I feel like I need to run a power wire Atleast since it’s on a 10 amp fuse? But with saying that there is no hookup for a power wire, and I don’t wanna take it apart unless I know there is actually a power hookup in the amp.

Hello Sir, upgrading the head unit in my 03 Honda Pilot that has a factory sub. I'm leaning towards the KTP-190U (new off eBay) for the sub. You mention the two empty pins and an 8v line driver. What else exactly do I need to buy to allow this to work with my new head unit and factory sub? (I know this is an older post, figured I would try). V/r, John
