She was part of the all-female Christian pop music group ZOEgirl. After her music career, she found her way into the world of Christian apologetics. She’s an outspoken opponent of “Progressive Christianity”. She is the author of Another Gospel? A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity and Live Your Truth (and Other Lies): Exposing Popular Deceptions That Make Us Anxious, Exhausted, and Self-Obsessed. Im a Christian from the UK and id literally never heard of calvinism until i encountered Americans. Ive been to a dozen churches, son of a preacher and never even heard it spoken. When i heard of it and showed it to my christian friends it was universally rejected. I highly doubt that only the current american reformists have it right

The reason God knows who is in the Book of Life is not because HE chose them beforehand, but because at the moment of Creation HE knew time from beginning to end. He knew who would choose HIM. I don't see how you can think we have free will and then have God make the choice of whether we are the elect or not. It's only real worship for YHVH when we decide to follow HIM in faith. If HE wanted a bunch of automations blindly worshipping HIM 24/7 it was in HIS power to do that. He chose free will and, therefore, a real relationship.

We don't know who the elect are ultimately. We are called to preach the Gospel and raise kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The elect will be saved through that, and the non-elect won't. There is a difference between not getting a good answer and just not wanting to accept the answer(s) you are given.

We will know them by their fruit, but it's true, we won't really know at the start of the "potential elect's" walk with Chist

What if it's with your spouse? Do you stop talking to them about the gospel because you have different religious beliefs?

Calvinism is the achilles heel of Christianity cause the atheists could always say "I'm not chosen, just let me live my sinful life I was predestined to." Derek Webb is using Calvinism as an excuse to abandon God and to mock Christianity like Abraham Piper.

Just finished reading the gospels and Jesus refers to regeneration and the elect multiple times in each of them. God is responsible, He is the creator and sustainor, and we are guilty sinners. They're not mutually exclusive. We don't blame Tolkien for sauron, but when God hardens Pharoah's heart we want to take up Pharoah's part. I would go as far as to say presenting God's providence as an excuse for sin is itself an example of the hardening of the heart. We can find great sympathy because we all face that temptation, but the premise is just not true.

😂 "I love rants"😂 Great rants on this podcast. Sad though that Trump and politics was such a catalyst for deconstruction. Unfortunately it has been leading more often to progressivism than seeking biblical moral truth. Probably because progressivism promotes self and here we are, in the age of instant gratification.
