In the hospital the day My dad passed from cancer, we left the room to give my parents time to talk while he was still responding. She said she climbed in the bed next to him and he scooted over as much as he could move and as they laid there she spoke of the good times and he said I've enjoyed my life with you honey. She said we had some good times. This song makes me think of that moment. He passed later that day June 8, 2023. August would've been 55 years of marriage. I love their love story.

I also like the way that John's part is in the Key of D, and then it changes to the key of F for Alison's part. Very unusual. And when Alison sings, "I knew when I saw you smile" is absolute perfection.

I agree with every word you said. The modulation was perfect. This is the most romantic man and woman duet I've ever heard. The contrast of John's gritty voice with Alison's feminine, pure, lovely voice creates the most beautiful blend. So real, and human. Jerry is wonderful as always too as he duets with Alison on lap steel this time. He makes any instrument sing he is so expressive. This piece of music is entirely astonishing. And you/re so right when Alison sings, "I knew when I saw you smile"is perfection.

It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. the performance of these two people is simply like a patiently hand crafted work of art , to be the finest piece ever to be produced, The band did exactly the same, haunting, heart touching music , so well orchestrated and with a tight grip on my attention it is so magnetised between my hearing, listening and watching the performance. John touches the sky, whilst Alison polished the edges so that this craft of a song is theirs that never to be matched. Beautifully sang and diligently executed. I stumbled on this song about 3 months ago and I can relate the lyrics in many ways, be it , the love for our parents, our pets, our union with others, the woman I loved. The music is perfect. Alison presentation and her voice added the gold rim around this masterpiece. Thanks.
