Ali Siddiq is a stand-up comedian, public speaker, and writer out of Houston. Ali’s unique style of stand-up began behind the walls of incarceration, an incubator for interesting experiences and good stories.
People received their first taste of Ali Siddiq when he appeared on HBO's DEF COMEDY JAM and LIVE FROM GOTHAM, and in 2013 he was named Comedy Central's "#1 Comic to Watch". In 2014, Ali impressed comedy enthusiasts by displaying his ability to captivate an audience with his "Mexicans Got On Boots" tale, descriptive storytelling, with over 15 million views, of a prison riot on THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, the first of three appearances. His stories continued with his HALF HOUR special, which premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2016. Immediately following the premiere of that special, Comedy Central offered Ali an hour-special where he performed for inmates live in a Texas jail, sending Ali back to where it all started. The hour special, Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars, premiered in February 2018 on Comedy Central. In 2019, Ali could be seen as a Top 5 finalist on NBC’s BRING THE FUNNY. Most recently, Ali could be seen as a guest on THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE.

Hugs to Ali. I’ve lost my baby sister to homicide. I’m still not whole, I never will be. The pain is unbearable. I thank him for talking about sibling loss. The bruhs and sisters’ grief often get overlooked, we hurt too.

The loss of a sibling is earth shattering. My older brother, my only brother died from brain cancer and it broke me. You don’t realize how much of your identity is wrapped into being someone’s sibling.

This was a LEGENDARY stand up for me. Up there with Eddie Murphy’s “RAW!” Because of the depth and sheer emotions he takes you through…. Showing you the comedy and tragedy 🎭. I can’t remember a comic ever going this deep where you laughed and cried with him in the same set. Kudos to you bruh.

Hearing your story, in a way it's not just your story, It's a lot of people's story. This is the story of everyday Americans. The struggle is real, the desperation real, the love, the joy, the hurt it's all real. I appreciate that honesty. This is why whenever I hear someone from the older generations talk about how much safer it was back then I cut them off. We had wars and anyone that hadn't grown up with a silver spoon in their mouth were drafted. People suffered and struggled back then just as much as they do now. Those that say otherwise have just been blind to the suffering of others. It's narcissistic, ignorant, and naive. Please keep telling your story. Let them know what the world is really like outside of their bubble.

Getting ready to go to work listening to this and it broke my heart. I lost my sister four years ago when I was 48 years old and it devastated me--I was so lost, so sad so angry. It was such authentic raw emotion. You can feel his pain. It’s take a strong and brave person to be so vulnerable in front of so many people. You can feel it. I lost my baby brother in 2008. He was 19. I was just stunned, shocked, and in disbelief. I understand how it must feel to experience losing a sibling.

Baybeeee, the way you relived that like it was yesterday, your ability to process that in front of SO many people, many can't do that with even 1 on 1 with a therapist. You broke my heart. And the feelings/grief are/is so real that your whole face changed; like you were a different person, and on some level, you were...Every time you tell that story I'm sure Ashley smiles knowing just how much you love her. I'm glad you were there to have your own moment, so you didn't have to endure the trauma of watching it. Thank you for sharing your story. I'll use it in my session with my age-appropriate kiddos. Grief never dies but it eventually will get to a point where you can talk about it. The pain is still there, but you can process, acknowledge, and move on to another subject. Blessings brother, and thank you for spreading joy. Off to watch the whole special now! ;)

This is why you're my favourite comedian right now. You share your experiences honestly. I admire how you include raw, human emotion in your stories. Makes us feel like we're right there with you and reminds us that life isn't all chuckles. We should talk about the things that hurt us. While most comedians would never share their wounds with total strangers, you remain fearless in telling your truth. And in doing so, a sense of shared humanity is felt by all of us. Thank you for sharing this part of you with us. It can't have been easy reliving this awful moment onstage. I feel this new special is a Masterpiece and I remain in awe of your talent.

I’m crying for you my brother, because I’m the youngest of 5 siblings, I’m 64, I’m the only one to make it past 49. My brother, the 2nd oldest and my twin sisters passed away before I was born(my brother accidentally and my sisters with an illness. My oldest brother was a month away from turning 18, when I was born, and he was murdered 30 later. I didn’t understand growing up, why I thought my mom was so protective of me, because she hid her pain inside herself so well, that I didn’t even know about the fact I had twins sisters till I was 12 years old, when my aunts told me. I couldn’t even imagine the grief and pain as parents they felt. Not knowing the affects that my siblings would have had on my life. My brother was my best friend and my hero growing up, so losing your sister at 8, I pray for you, one love ❤️

I still cry sometimes but I’m getting through it and I’m celebrating my daddy, the worlds greatest dad. It’s a process but we get through it. ❤September 2nd is my dads birthday I celebrate him every year not only on his birthday but just in general.
