U.S. National Champion Alissa Czisny skates to “Chasing Cars” by @tommeeprofitt & @Fleuriemusic at the ‘Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer’ fundraiser hosted by ScottCARES at Ford Ice Center in Bellevue.

Imagine being a close friend of hers, and she says she’s been working on something that she deeply believes in for a while. Then, out of the blue, she invites you to the local ice rink for a, “performance”… The spotlights turn on, the music starts, and you watch your friend, right in front of your eyes, become the incredible star she’s always been. 🎉👏

I was spellbound by Alissa's performance. Pretty sad that I couldn't watch it again, but omg, it's on youtube now!! Thank you for uploading her stage. I’m not sure what she did that was so magical at 0:44 to 0:57 but I can’t stop replaying it. She starts with such a gentle glide she’s literally just standing and it’s still so pretty, and then some beautiful movement a few seconds later around 0:52-0:54 I really wish the camera was a bit closer at that part, and then that little backwards leap at 0:56 exactly on the music. So beautifully choreographed and executed.

Outstanding camera work! The way it evolved from the beginning to the end of the performance was perfect. I've been a big fan of Alissa since 2005. As the great Dick Button would say, "she is one of the most exquisite skaters of all time". Exquisite sums up this performance.

Beautiful. A young man that lived with me and my children on and off from the age of 17 called me mom and was a part of our family died by a hit and run at 24 on December 17th. I'll never be over it. I'll always remember the police coming to our home that morning to tell me. This was one of his favorite songs.

This song was mine and my dogs song : I remember playing this as i was having to say goodbye. I feel this performance said exactly how close he and I were and how I felt when I was loosing him. He is still living inside my heart!!!
