The second of three animatics from the Jekyll and Hyde Musical featuring Miss Pie as Mr Edward Hyde.
THIS IS THE FINISHED PRODUCT, we have no interest in fully animating this. That's a lot of work and Silhouette hasn't the patience to animate.
Completed by InkPotts Creations, consisting of:
Silhouette, who did the drawings, and GhostQuill who video edited.
"Alive" is from the "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Musical", performed by Anthony Warlow on the Complete Work concept album, released in 1994 under the subtitle "The Gothic Musical Thriller: The Complete Work". We do not own it.
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and it's characters are owned by Hasbro. We also don't own it.
ARTIST NOTES:
Kind of went overboard with this and how far I could take the expressions. Also just a side note; I had originally planned to make Pinkie's eyes coloured in the previous animatic but forgot. DEAL WITH IT

This animatic is astonishingly good. The facial expressions are captured perfectly in line with the vocals. The whole scene in general is just bliss and complements the original work. I've tried finding something to critique but I've got nothing. The whole of the video is flawless in my book.

0:48 I spot a similarity between Hyde and Jekyll. "I'll show to them I've made it on my own!" - Jekyll, "I'll seek it alone!" - Hyde. It proves that Hyde's more than just the potion's byproduct: his methods in achieving goals are the same as Jekyll's. Also, I think that's his / their problem... If he / they asked for help in the start, it all could have been avoided.

The entire song is a counter to This is the Moment, including "Damn all the odds!" and "Conquer all the odds", as well as "I'll sit forever with the gods" and "Take from all the gods". I can probably pull up a lot more, but I'm just going off the top of my head.

If Jekyll got help, the outcome would've been the same. It's social commentary on the repression of the 1800's. If you read the book, they're not two different minds. Jekyll is Hyde is Jekyll. The anonymity freed him of society's restrictions, and very quickly, he began thinking of himself as Hyde hiding behind the face of Jekyll. That's why the uncontrollable transformations, and why he had to start using potions to turn into Jekyll, because he wasn't Jekyll anymore, but Hyde. Jekyll was just a mask he wore. That's the message of the book, that all this repression was turning people into Hydes behind a facade of Jekyll. In other words, sorry 'bout the imperialism love, but don't this waistcoat look posh? It still has application today. The anonymity of the internet frees people, and some of them certainly do go Hyde. This is the REAL troll song.

The vocals are astoundingly great. They make my hair stand on end with the power and evil the talent brings forward. The animatic plays into this with great skill, Pinkie's expressions magnifying the chilling nature of this song.

Forgot to add. That part in the song where Hyde is referring to the prostitute he's about to murder. Changing that to be referring to Pinkie was a brilliant move!

A while ago, I commented on how epic this conecpt was on another video. Now I am at the point where i favoed this and confrontation. Hyde's singing is incredible. A pure joy to listen to over and over again. I have the catch tune of hyde singing he'll life forever stuck in my head for days now. Best ear worm I had in my entire life.

This is already a masterpiece. I guess fully animating this would represent an EXTREME amount of work but it has so much potential that it could be one of the best animation of the fandom. I can totally picture Disney's animation style on this, probably because of the music genre ^^

Those expressions... I really want to see more. They're so ruthless and chilling, but so alluring. I've always been fascinated with this kind of villain, and this animatic and music really bring an enticing experience. It's a shame there aren't any plans to do more. A true shame, not just a little one.

Honestly since I've found this song I have watched this video at LEAST 50 times. I put it on loop and play Minecraft, or just watch this animatic with beautiful pictures for hours. And sometimes when no one's home I play it at the loudest volume and freakin scream the lyrics! (Not gonna lie I think I've done that with ALIVE, CONFRONTATION, A STORY TOLD, I WILL BE THERE, EVERYDAY A LITTLE DEATH, and HELL TO YOUR DOORSTEP.) You know, when I was searching different versions of the soundtrack, the Anthony Warlow was the most recommended. I am SO glad others agree. He just has such an amazing voice and I could listen to "Confrontation" a million times over. Oh, are you doing to do "The World Has Gone Insane?" That'd be tricky, but fun to animatic.

This is amazing. Even though you say this is the finished product, even with the stills there's such a great sense of flow (particularly from 1:20 and onwards, like woah) and the expressions are amazing, almost to the extreme, but given the subject it really fits and gets across the manic nature of the song and events going on. Aaaaaa I just love it! I can't wait to see number 3 in the series!

I call Jekyll and Hyde the worst musical with the best soundtrack. the musical itself is decent at best, but the songs are amazing. just stay away from the Hasselhoff version

I swear, these video's are the reason I've started drawing again. xD This one is still my favorite, though to be fair that has a lot to do with the music and performance. Fits so well with the visuals

Oh my god these songs are incredible! I'm definately going to find a way to watch this (the real version). I really loved this animatic. Though it saddens me that they won't be made, your character expressions were incredible and the whole thing was really well done! Thank you!
