Reminded me similarly to Alex's debut at 205 against Jan. Didn't look the best and it wasn't the most exciting fight, but it solidified his position in the division. He then won a title fight. Aljo needs one more top 5 win, maybe in 6-8 months to grow even further into his 145 frame. He has tape now to study on a few 5'11 fighters. Calvin, Sean & Cory. He can compete with Brian surely, he would have a speed & strength advantage. Keep Aljo away from Diego, tho.

@@IgotTigersblood?? Why would he not? That experience from fighting taller guys is gonna help him fight other taller guys. You do know fighters watch tape on their own past fights to learn from right?

Shame on UFC for not giving AJS a post win microphone in the ring. MMA means MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. This means that opponents test their skills against all types of martial arts styles. Isn't that what was suppose to be the whole point MMA when it first came to be? Ronda Rousey was a JUDO expert and was not a KNOCK OUT artist. Somehow armbar winnings within 2 rounds was considered baddest person on the planet status. Ronda was effective and elevated the level of the sport and is a hall of famer. The Gracie family martial art form is JUJITSU which is not a KNOCK OUT focused combat sport. The Gracies also elevated the sport and delivered the most utilized techniques that have become an expectation for all MMA fighters. So you better learn JUJITSU isn't that right? So I am shocked and disappointed that UFC teaches such bad sportsmanship and prejudice of AJS because of his wresting style. In the wrestling world... his style would be considered exciting. To UFC (DANA WHITE) and FANS only looking for wins by knockouts in a "MIXED MARTIAL ARTS "named sport means a lack of appreciation for all fighting styles. The booing should have been on Katar as it was his assignment to work himself out of those dominating positions. AJS is not a knock out artist but if you call yourself a mixed martial artist then find a way to win positions or sleep him before he locks you up. AJS completely shut down a striking phenom and doesn't deserve a microphone or respect? What AJS is showing is that MMA fighters better elevate their wrestling game as part of their skillset. I agree that its not as exciting but Until then stop all the Bull#$@!## about AJS style of combat. There are plenty of fighters that bring the same technique to the game, win the same way over and over and as a fan you know exactly what to expect. Only praising TKOs is not an appreciation of the diversity of development of all types martial arts. Please respect all combat sports art forms and the sacrifice it takes to win at this level.

Do you know anything about fighting or bjj? He literally said himself if he gives up position to chance a sub attempt he can end up letting kattar get up. He also had kattar fighting his hands pretty well against the cage so he couldn’t do anything other than sit on top of him with kattar grabbing his hands
