Nice to see a few comments who understand how facts work instead of just feelings. Suicide bombing in civilian areas, did they increase or decrease? If you look at the wikipedia list of suicide bombings by a certain group you will see a sharp decline when the check points and walls were fully implemented. This is similar to airplane hijackings, in the past a certain group likes ro hijack and take hostages in exchange for release of criminals and terrorists but after stricter security. Almost no more hijackings. There is a common sense reason for things and not always imagined and made up narrative.

The correct name for this area is Judaea and Samaria, it was where the first capital of Israel was, SHECHEM.

So for context. Because of the Oslo accords, the West Bank was divided into 3 administrative zones. A, B, and C. A is strictly Palestinian controlled under the PA. Area B is Palestinian administrative control and Israeli security control, and area C is strictly under Israeli control. So we got a mish mash of jurisdictions here. You have to travel through a lot of security zones to go from one end of the West Bank to another. It will make sense there would be a lot of checkpoints. It' is no different from going to Mexico to the United States. There's check points going from one country to another. My point is that Israel has an interest to set up Customs checkpoints to make sure there are not wanted terrorist and contraband traveling into its territory. Occupied West Bank? Nay. West Bank was originally belonging to Jordan. After losing the war to Israel in 1967, Israel gained the West Bank. In 1988, Jordan officially ceded the West Bank to Israel. So its rightfully Israeli territory. The Arabs living there found themselves under Israeli jurisdiction. The Arabs living there had Jordanian citizenship. But now after 1967 they call themselves Palestinians. It doesn't fit the definition of an occupation which is, control and possession of hostile territory that enables an invading nation to establish military government against an enemy or martial law against rebels or insurrectionists in its own territory. The definition does not fit since Jordan ceded its claim to the West Bank it belongs to Israel now. So what now? What Al Jazeera fails to mention is that the West Bank has a lot of terrorist groups who does not recognize Israel existence. Groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Their sole mission laid out in their charters is to wipe Jew off the face of the Earth and eradicate Israel. Those checkpoints are important to Israel as a matter of National Security. It is not to humiliate Palestinians or make their life harder. If Palestinians want convenience, they should recognize Israel's right to exist and advocate against violence.
