This video provides an extremely slanted and inaccurate view, all of the people interviewed in this report besides Zeina Khodor, have their day-job as being an anti-hezb mouthpiece, take for example Hanin Ghaddar whom is a senior fellow with the Washington Institute for the Near East Policy. Anyone that knows that ThinkTank know how stained and dirty these foreign policy advocates are. What's funny is that they actually skipped over the entire formation of Hezb. What kind of 'Start Here' report doesn't even mention the names of the leaders whom started this movement, where did they come from? What were their motivations? If a person knew nothing about this group & watched this report. They'd think exactly what America & lsrael would want you to think, which is that they are a sophisticated Iranian militia and the only plus for Iran is exporting their influence. It's been since the 80's, If that was their plan I don't think it's a good ROI; why does Iran fund the fighters in Gaza, whom they clashed politically and ideologically with? Was it to spread their influence, or was it to keep them surviving & to support their resistance? It's funny that while this video exists for 5 hours, it has more views than an English interview from Ranian Khalik to one of the leaders of Hzb where she asks them these questions about their relationship with Iran and whether they are a proxy or not. Do people also think that the Houthis a movement that had started before the Islamic revolution in Iran is also an Iranian movement?

Certain bias in reporting. There was no interest in spreading Iranian idiology. Iran saw it as duty to help Palestinians, the oppressed, Palestinians. The security Lebanon has today is that Isreal would think twice before attacking Lebanon again because of Hisbullah.

They don’t take direction from Iran as they are not a proxy. They work closely w Iran and Iran provided arms and funding, but they act independently and in the interest of the Lebanese people.

When the victims (the Palestinians) of a bullying force (the Israeli government) meet their protection, any power that represents the victims and defend them become heroic force. That’s the nature of life. It’s impossible to change that.

Then with time they didn't see no help but from Iran! Whom armed and made them even more powerful! They chose their leader! And since then as long as Israel still exist, they can't be disbanded! If Qatar was forced to pick between being friendly to the Muslim Brotherhood versus being friendly to the Iranian regime what side would they pick? How would that affect coverage on Al Jazeera? Very good report or episode and thank you for this education. "Vive la Résistance", and may the religious differences be left aside, for each person to be able to freely choose for themselves. Religion should never be an excuse for committing war betwen people of differing religious beliefs only because of such differences. The focus should be on peaceful, civil, cooperative co-existence.

Start Here is one of the best news documentary programs out there. They manage to take a complicated subject and break it down into an accurate and concise mini documentary. I am a student of, and researcher on the Middle East and I often start here If I want to get up to speed on a subject. I have seen some of the comments below. And I understand. I just take the title of the episode as my guide. This program was a primer of what is Hezbollah and how is it linked to the Gaza war. There is a lot of material to cover in a short doc, and they have to get right to the point. Their job is to be impartial, and not beholden to anyone. I am certainly not an apologist for Israel especially considering the genocide in Gaza. I am also well aware of Israels bombings, assassinations and campaigns if disinformation in Beirut/Lebanon. All of which are reprehensible. Israel has made it worse for themselves, their neighbors, and the region in general by shooting first and asking questions later. Everyone knows that if they ended the occupation and made attempts at restitution, and saw the Palestinians as humans instead of 'Animals and Vermin" they would not only spend less money on defense, they also just might make their neighbors a lot less likely to lob missiles at them. I realize that I'm being pretty Idealistic here. I also realize that the Israeli government is full of narcissists, racists and extremists, making any type of real progress very unlikely anytime soon. I also see extremism and corruption in Hezbollah as well, even though I place the onus of aggression and discord in the region squarely at the feet of Israel. Information can also serve to influence, even if that is not the goal. It's easier to take criticism if someone also presents positive traits about the person or state they are criticizing. No I am not affiliated with Al Jazeera. I am a fan of this program and format. If someone disagrees with my post please make a kind comment and state what part of this Start Here episode is inaccurate. Please be specific. It will help me in my studies.

As a Bible-toting Christian on a current events and history tour of the Middle East in 1977, it became clear to me that pre-century religiosity is the bane of 21st Century polity. There really is no separation of church and state since it all depends on the consent of the governed, and most of us are at least remotely religious. Therefore, what was needed when Constitine declared a one state, one religion order in the 2nd Century, is what’s needed now; and! It’s been ordained in America, at least in writing. Unfortunately, when the US Constitution was ratified, most Americans did not have access to it, or could not read. Hence, instead of regulating commerce, commerce regulated Congress; and now, those pulling the purse strings of influence believe themselves to be God’s chosen few. Therefore it’s obvious, peace in the Middle East calls for a constitutional renaissance in America.
