1 Gambit map at this point would excite me more than majority of the loot from the last 2 seasons

The thing that made me start loving destiny is when in D1 you could pick a weapon at the start of the game. I picked the Hand Cannon thinking it was just a cool pistol but quickly learned how cool it felt to fire that thing. After that it was just trying out every gun I found cause they felt good to use and looked cool. Destiny’s gun feel is top notch

Not really on the strike specific loot, but more on the wearing what we fight. I think it would be really cool for Bungie to bring back some of these concepts of literally just taking a piece of equipment, or limbs from the enemies we fight and make them into armor pieces. It would be really interesting nowadays since we've expanded on the transmogrification systems since last time we had access to these kinds of armor pieces.

The loot is what made me love destiny plus the lore of said loot , the thorn/Last word story is by far the best

The gunplay got me in. Rolling around in Rumble with the Last Word felt unreal. Good points with the armor here man, they've gotten way too focused on seasonal themed armor, then monetizing all the really interesting animated armors...

Strike Specific Loot would be such an easy way to rotate old armour pieces for Transmog & Collections. We have so many unobtainable armour pieces

in the destiny 2 strike "insight terminus" there is a rare chance you can get the strike specific "The Long Goodbye". I remember grinding GM's of insight terminus and it dropped. I had no idea strike specific loot was a thing in d2 but i have that sniper in my vault right now, so cool

The thing about d1 strike specific loot, is that it felt really good and really unique, especially the armor, now cool stuff is mostly locked into endgame content and most weapons that aren’t endgame aren’t able to compete. Really wish that d2 armor and weapons could be on par with d1 in terms of uniqueness and acquirability. Edit: after finishing the video, i’m amazed to learn that majority of adept gm weapons are recycled from being strike specific loot, I did know militia’s birthright was one of them since It was one of my first weapons I got when I joined in shadowkeep, but wow, thats painful to know, and it’s sad because strike specific loot didn’t have to go, we’ve only gotten ~around 5 new strikes since shadowkeep, like imagine if the glassway had a vex themed sniper or pulse and hypernet strike on neomuna had a vex network themed class item or rocket launcher. Or even the throneworld strikes having lucent hive themed weapons, that could also drop adept(but couldn’t be focused for) whenever those strikes were gmnfs! It would make them exciting to play and actually be wanted to play because those gms are terrible to grind in.

The helmet at 6:50 is better then 90% of the current gear in destiny 2

What if Bungie made it so that you can go and select the strike that you want to get the normal version of the loot, but if you wanted to craft the weapon tied to that strike, you do the nightfall version to get a chance of getting a red border version of the weapon.

I fell in love with Destiny because of the characters and gameplay, loot was an added bonus

Thanks for the reminder that a WORM GOD was a Strike/Story boss in Warmind. Also, Nokris shared this distinction despite being a character hinted at in lore and also related to Oryx. Technically got doubly done dirty in being a boss in the Season of the Arrivals as its final boss.

Man, I’ve been playing through D1 for the first time recently and besides from long/no matchmaking, loving it. I can only imagine how much fun it must’ve been back in its prime.

Y'know id love to see you do a video on the Strike Variants that we got with dlc releases in Destiny 1! That was also some of my favorites, keeping these strikes feeling refreshed and important to the overall story again as we were given reasons to redo them

I have all of these. God knows how many hours I’ve spent doing these strikes I’ve gotten sick of them but now that they’re gone I kinda miss them.

Can confirm the Scion Flayers part. When I got my Hunter up to 40, I grinded nonstop for all three cloaks

Strike specific loot and hardmode raid armor ornaments got me into destiny for me

What it was for me originally was seeing that I had leveled up a gun or unlocked a perk. Itd show up at the top of the screen and it felt satisfying knowing the grind paid off. Now all u get is ur season rank, which means nothing.

I loved the Garden World strike!

I totally forgot about half the strikes & the loot. Let alone didn't realize some items I've had back then were strike specific. I've acquired everything ATLEAST once. I loved & miss them. Darkblade ❤ + Lightsout Modifier 😅

I do strikes for the vanguard engrams, and focus them into strident whistle

I remember farming Omniguel so much. Killing her in the hallway section, with at least two golden gun hunters

I genuinely played strikes for HOURS trying to get the Titan gauntlets from the Cabal brothers, the Hunter cloaks from the Psions, the Imago Loop, Grasp of Malice, etc.

I also loved strike specific loot. I remember grinding for a god roll Imago Loop before the age of triumph update trying to get anything similar to Fatebringer

I miss strike specific loot it was always cool trying to get a piece of loot that dropped from the boss and being that it wasn’t always guaranteed made you want to grind the strikes for it😢❤

I never got to experience strike specific loot because I came in during Shadowkeep and didn't have the old expansions.

Bungie seriously if anyone who works at bungie is watching this video this is needed back in destiny so badly.

I genuinely think it needs people to only play short periods of time. Burn out is real with this game and with so much to do it's crazy when someone says they did everything after a week with new dlc or seasons.

i did not know that horror's least was strike specific, i got that thing (the legacy version, not the reprised) earlier this month and was shocked to see it, now im definitely not getting rid of it

Also I'm pretty sure the legendary sparrow Gambler's Palm could drop from The Fanatic Nightfall. It was Cayde-6's sparrow and it could also drop with the same speed engine as exotic sparrows.

Strikes that would appreciate strike specific loot 1.Scarlett keep- a hive theme handcannon or shotgun or glave 2. The lightblade- alak hul helmet or a lucent hive theme weapon 3. The corrupted- stolen will 4. Fallen saber-warmind theme weapon or baron ambition 5. Devils lair- fallen theme weapon 6. Lake of shadows- stolen will or another taken theme weapon lmg maybe? 7. Arms dealer- bring back trophy hunter and the rocket launcher from season of dawn? An idea I had strikes have a chance of dropping enemy theme armor fallen, cabal, vex, taken etc... to replace that basic armor Zavala sells but, if you get a bounty from Zavala while farming for other loot you do a few strikes of a certain enemy faction you get a guaranteed piece of enemy theme armor of your choosing it will add another reason to grind strikes besides the loot and can be for solo players that don't have teams for raids or dungeons to that theme armor set

Strike specific loot, year 3 d1 raid type armor, less items only obtainable through eververse, expand postmaster, add button that allows you to determine how much of a resource you wanna use or diamantle, bring back factions, less monetization, more effort.

this video was extremely help cb! i didnt know there was cosmetics tied to nightfalls in year 1 d2, probably why I felt strike specific loot was never added in destiny 2

Cloak of taniks was my go to in d1 I really wish they’d bring it back, or at least a couple more hoodless cloaks that aren’t torn up

I really do think that activities like strikes need to have more specific loot, or maybe even certain drops that generate with certain strike mods

i got the RatKing Sparrow from the Weapondealer GM back in the days, i only use this because looks good and is unique. Specific Loot again would be very nice.

I don't know why but every time I see a sniper or auto from D1 I get so much nostalgia due to the fact that almost all the scopes looked different or just a vibe

Duty bound, i love auto rifles and this one has to be one of my favourites ever. I wish they would give strike specific loot again, maybe once they add enough of the loot pool back in, it might make a return?

I think playing the destiny 1 demo and doing the devils lair strike during the summer of 2015, seeing my mom buying a copy of destiny and giving to me for the ps3 has always been nostalgic to me.

Treads Upon Stars was my favorite D1 Scout, dont really know why, it just was. The Psion cloaks were still the coolest thing to date.

i absolutely want devouring maw back. i still to this day have it on my warlock, and i even use the tangled web helmet for warlock in d2 to have the same look

I think a lot of players would actually be much happier if they hadn't removed content from the game... It's so hard for new players to jump in if they literally can't start from the beginning, and many players would want to try that instead of jumping into the middle of it, where you don't know or care about anything happening.

You know what else D2 NEEDS? Weapons day. You order a package from Banshee and a couple days later, you got to choose a gun from the selected pool. Weapons could also roll with sights other than red dot. Doesn't sound like much but after having red dot on everything in D2, having a change of pace would be great. Sparrow racing. We 100% need this back. Was nice to take a break from shooting things and doing something different.

The question at the beginning is honestly pretty funny to me, my first exposure to Destiny was a Rhulk Meme, where it starts off funny only to cut to an imposing image of Rhulk, his music and him speaking "you are not fit to serve the deserving" after that? I looked around, found out his name was Rhulk from Destiny, downloaded Destiny 2, and in my blind Niavity i bought SO MUCH from that game Do i love the game? Absolutely! Ive been playing for 2 years for a reason

The Taniks cloak would go really well with the Scorned Baron chestpiece too As far as Alak Hul, there is nothing more metal than ripping off your enemy’s head and wearing it. Much like Leatherface

If you think about it, they almost essentially took what could have been strike-specific loot, and turned it into the legendary ornaments you can buy in eververse. If they have made strikes to better theme those items, we would have likely seen them as the strike-specific loot instead of cool cash shop cosmetics. Over delivery i guess :/

100% agree strike specific loot needs to make a return, i cant believe they literally gave themselves the opportunity to put the darkblade's helmet back into the game and didnt take it. bungie needs examine what made things replayable, and that comes down to not just good- but also *cool looking* loot in their games, the war numens helmet looked terrible because they probably knew the darkblades helmet would be even more desirable by comparison, i know the second i got it i put away my taken king helmet

I am a crappy PvP player but the items in my vault I tend to cherish are the decent weapons I did earn in trials. I still pull out my astral horizon and Shrayas wrath on occasion depending on what I need to do in PvE. Activity specificand good loot not tied to RNG that you have to earn is appealing to me. Me earning Not Forgotten and almost earning Luna's Howl before sunsetting were some of the accomplishments I can look back at and say I did that. The forges with Jotunn after 100+ powerful runs in Bergusia were moments that made me want to play the game. There was a sense of accomplishment and they made me a better player, by taking me out of my comfort zone.

Now that you mention it (At 8:52), i also have no idea why they didn't put this strike back in the rotation considering we're back on titan (Kind of).

Favs are definitely devils dawn, ahlakuls head, malocks head, malocks pulse rifle and the helmet from the big shank boss and the warlock arms from echo chamber!! Honestly all the D1 specific loot was amazing and it needs to come back like that in D2! It’s honestly a shame to not keep that going!! It’d breath new life into the strike playlist! And weapons or armor, not cosmetic, unless it’s extra!! Like insight terminus could have EASILY brought back the cloaks from dust palace!!!

It was the mystery in the lore that got me initially interested. My favorite bits of lore were the Mysteries in the Grimoire. Made you feel like everything had existed for an incredibly long time before you and will continue long after. Feel like a lot of that doesn’t seem to exist in the current lore we get. I get it, decade old franchise, can’t stay mysterious forever, and you have to give people answers eventually before they lose interest. I’m not sure how to describe it. The gunplay made me stay, of course. I don’t think there’s any gun in any game that feels as good to shoot as an Ace of Spades with Mori active in Destiny 2. Just wish they’d lean a bit more into that.

Since you mentioned it near the end. wardens law was confirmed to be coming next season reworked into a brand new archetype.

I have been waiting for all of D2 for strike specifics to come back.

Destiny 1, for me was because I loved halo and wanted to play destiny, for 2 I fell in love with red war story’s line. And the slightly difficult strikes and missions.

Taniks was the first strike I farmed, and Does Not Bow was my first drop. i think Haakon's Hatchet and DNB were the only legendary autos I used, while Quillum's Terminus and Baron's Ambition were pretty much the only legendary heavies I used. Don't know why Bungie doesn't do this anymore, it's literally just a single weapon or armor piece every strike or two, and adds a ridiculous amount of replayability, and is responsible for a lot of my best D1 memories, and part of why i started playing. It's a win win for everyone, VERY cheap to make compared to a massive season like Deep that doesn't even need all the content it adds, and would make things much less stale for players.

ik im late but they really could add back strike specific loot to d2 idk how hard it is but they just say hey we added stuff to these old strikes

Destiny 1 felt great because there was so so so much loot in the game and so many weapons/armor that you never even heard of. The overall aesthetic of the game and feeling of satisfaction when you achieve the loot you wanted to look and feel like a bad ass was what kept me around. Now D2 doesnt have that magical feeling D1 did, it feels like it constantly tells you what to do to like chores.

I started destiny 2 around 2019 like holy crap I knew we had as lot of stuff vaulted but I didnt know it was this bad. As some have also said they should add armor gotten from the body of bosses back.

We need Taniks cloak back and the dark blade helm ASAP
