We are specifying it by given name. Or when we say India have one of the world's wonders ,that is Taj mahal . We are emphasising on this name. Bharat is native name. India is foreign name. Given by Greeks then English people. A country uses it's own name. We say japan ,Japanese call it Nippon or Nihon ,(earlier it was yamato). It doesn't matter what we call them. Nippon is their identity. And bhartiya is ours as natives. You can use india when outsiders are in picture ,even tho more and more people are now being aware that india is called bharat. As seen in many videos of visiters when they start their blog " and today I'm in bharat, the 2nd most populated country in the world" Have some respect for natives.
