I think the reason yorrichi survived a long time is because he didn't have to put a strain on his body to unlock it so it was like he never activated it

Guys, that mark wasnt an ‘undeveloped’ mark. It was a burn mark tanjiro got when he protected his brother from a falling brazier when he was younger. Later he was injured on the same place during final selection so i looks quite similar to his actual mark, but it is a scar. The other person that appears in the show who is in fact born with this mark is in fact tanjiro’s father, tanjuro. This information can be found in season 2 of demon soayer, the entertainment disctrict arc, when tanjiro is fighting UPM 6,. Shinjuros letter is being read as well as tanjiros reply, stating that his scar is the mark, however tanjiro saying that he injured himself in here in final selection. He did gain the proper mark later on though. I hope you found this helpful, sayonara

I think Demon Slayer marks are closely related to breath of the Sun.There have been only 2 survivors who had Demon Slayer marks.First was Yoriichi and Second was Kokushibo because he became a demon.Sun Breathing is the most difficult form to learn and very taxing so I think we can say that only a Sun God can generate enough strength to negate the side-effects

Tanjiro didn't had the slayer mark all along. the slayer mark was only activated at entertainment district arc.

@army blink you are correct and how he got the scar was when something I think it was a tea kettle it almost hit his brother but Tanjiro jumped into it and it developed when the hand demon hit him in that spot in the final selection

Tanjirou defeating akaza?? no. Akaza killed himself after realizing that it wasnt a good choice to be in the bad and lost his will to fight.

Not really, Akaza killed himself cuz Tanjiro beheaded him and won the fight fair and square…And Akaza loves fair fights so he surrendered himself and died on his own will.

@@JmzYuju only a sun breather can unlock the DSM first. There has been only 2 eras where the Demon slayers have had the DSM. The golden era and the current one. The thing they have in common is that each era had a Sun breather who had the DSM first and spread to others.

(Might contain Spoilers) Giyuu already became the strongest Water Pillar before he even unlocked the mark. The fact that he created a new form of Water Breathing despite lacking the motivation to even train, was an impressive feat. In the fight against Akaza, he stated that he has never fought against someone as good as Giyuu since 50 years ago. Furthermore, he was able to fend off and survive against Muzan in a short fight despite suffering from extreme fatigue(to the point of passing out)due to fighting Akaza.

Let’s talk about how tanjiro is easily the strongest person to use sun breathing in spirit. He was the only one born without a demon slayer mark, yet he can still use it and grew his mark over time. This power is overwhelming

Fun fact: there are some things called Adrenaline and Hysterical Strength. Adrenaline lessens your pain while hysterical strength breaks your limits and goes harder on what you are doing. NOTE: you can obtain this by being in a dangerous situation (one thing that can take your life). So humans can basically have slayer marks. There you go guys.

Its not actually. That was just a coincidence ,at the start of the story you can see how that mark looks like a scar. But later on the story the original mark covered his scar. Even genya said that the mark on his forehead was increasing in size

His father had the same “burn mark” it seems that the Kamado bloodline passes down a incomplete version of yorichis mark because it slowly evolves through out the story until it was identical to yorichies so the demon slayer mark everyone else gets and the one tanjiro has I believe are different. His demon slayer mark is one u can have untill old age and not just till late 20’s like the rest of the slayers and I believe it’s because of the sun breathing style and how it’s the true style and since everyone else I’d using and inferior style and I believe has serious back lash and why there body Isent stable one receiving a mark hence why they die soon after. It’s like the kamado mark and sun breathing create a demon slayer organ for the breathing style ti funnel through hence it’s stability and able to live untill old but when the other slayers use there own breathing style since it’s not the true style no demon slayer organ is developed leaving the power and aura with no vessel and no where to keep it stable so when they receive the mark so now they have the full power and since there no vessel or container keeping all this power together and stable it runs haywire and it kills the non sun breather awhile after.

If you watch entertainment district arc you will notice that the attacks coming tanjiro was slow so it could be that tanjiro slowly gaining the ability of thr demon slayer mark

he is weaker than most of the other hashira who are extremely muscular and have abs and stuff, but he is still strong enough to cut off a demon's head. Basically mostly just lean muscle tho.

I think sun breathing / Hinokami Kagura is what grants (without someone else who had it to spread the mark) a user their mark. As the only people who got it from no one else were sun breathers (Yoricii, Tanjuro and Tanjiro). I also think sun breathing Constantly (Either perfected or Hinokami kagura works too, depends on wether tanjuro died or mark or a different sickness.) is what allows someone to live past 25

The scar in tanjiro on his forehead is not a hidden demon slayer mark. It was stated that he got it from when he was saving his brother from a boiling water. He said this himself when he has about to fight daki

Tanjiro was NOT born with the mark. The scar was from an accident, in which he protected his brother. Later in final selection, he was injured in the same spot. Making the scar look like a demon slayer mark. However, during combat, Tanjiro's mark awakens, and it is larger than the scar. Also people do know why Yoriichi lived past 80 y.o. with the mark - he was born with it. That's the only constant.

I would say you have to have not only a pure heart but a pure soul…like tanjiro…almost every other person has some darkness in their heart or soul but tanjiro was pure all the way which seems to be pretty rare and not only that you have to be a demon slayer which makes the odds of it happens so much more lower…

To Be Honest I Think That Giyome Died Because Of Blood Lost And Injurys He Sustained During The Battles Because If You Noticed It Is Stated In On Of The Guide Books That After Muzan S Death The Curse Of The Mark Ended And That Shows How Tanjiro,Giyu And Senami Were Able To Live Till Their Old Age Despite Still Having The Mark

Still it's unfair to 1v1 uppermoons,the mark has drawbacks, maybe give the hashiras the same healing ability. I don't understand why people keep repeating akaza is stronger than flame hashira, ofcourse isn't it obvious?

You did get one thing wrong @Yeagerists Tanjiro did not have that mark all along he got the mark from boiling water that almost spilled onto his brother. Then the mark changed after his injury at final selection.

Tanjiro was never born with a mark, he got the scar from a kettle and it scarred him again in the final selection

No lol. The mark covered his scar(from the kettle) even later on in the series the mark slowly increased on his face (genya said)

@@huzi2142 no lol. If u watched ent district, u would see that before tanjiro got burned there was nothing on his head, so after he got burned his scar got shaped into the one he had after final selection, and then he awakens his slayer mark against upper six.

Well Tanjiro’s dad had the mark when he was born but he died to a disease so if he didn’t die to the disease, he would’ve been one the strongest person in his Era

I still don't fully understand this. In the Hinokami Kagura flashback in the manga and ep19 of the anime, Tanjiro has his scar BEFORE his brother was born. So was it just a mistake from the creator, or is Tanjiro simply not remembering he always had it???

Maybe i am late but i just wanna say maybe why yorrichi didnt die at age 25 is because his mark match his breathing...we can see that in tanjiro era all the hashira awakening their mark match with their breathing maybe the reason other than yorrichi who awaken the same mark as yorrichi die because the mark is to strong to match with their breathing which weaker than sun breathing
