I was on an open view coal train and I kept getting grit in my eyes. But it was so much fun. It was back in 1988. We still have passenger trains that go all along the Blue Ridge mountains of Georgia and beyond. Such a thrill. This brought back such fond memories. I went with my Aunt, my mother, and my husband. All three are deceased now. Almost made me cry. Loved this.

Oh WOW. Jay you have put up many great videos but this one tops the lot. That whistle was fantastic would make a great notification sound. The views were spectacular. It doesn't get any better than that!!! Loved them ride and the video I don't know if you have heard of Millbrook Village and camp crystal lake that is where Friday The 13th was filmed. I rode my horse all over that area when I was growing up there is a road to your left of the village that runs next to the Delaware River, In 1998 we were driving through Millbrook along side the river and a Bald Eagle flow along side us going up the river towards the Gap. That was the most Beautiful site I have ever seen. Again thank you for another wonderful view and memory!!!!😍😍😍😍😍

I have to admit that was a little scary when the train was going over the bridge, that was super high, but a very nice view. Beautiful scenery and landscape! What a beautiful journey on a wonderful piece of history. Thanks for taking all of us along. I live about 40 miles from a huge railroad museum that is in Green Bay Wisconsin. Now I want to go visit it. As well as Laona Wisconsin Camp Five railroad and logging museum.

I was there a couple of years ago with my hubby. I love this town! Train ride was awesome, we visited Asa Packer Mansion, The Old Jail, had wine tasting, a carriage ride and stayed at The Inn at Jim Thorpe, which I can tell you definitely is haunted. It was around Christmas so Santa showed up on the train and gave everyone candy canes! Absolutely love the train and this ride. Its only about 25 minutes from my house but a great vacation getaway!!!! 👍

Really enjoyed the train ride, it took me back to my childhood when steam trains were only way to travel, always at the end of the journey smelling of smoke & with small covering of soot.

OH, how I've anticipated this ride! Can't do it in person but I'm just as excited riding with you and RJ. I get chills listening to the train whistle. In N.C., there is a train ride in the mountains called "Tweetsie Railroad". When I rode it years ago, Fred Kirby (Little Rascals fame) was there as a featured guest. I know THIS ride will be awesome......let's roll!

I don't think they're doing it this year because of the pandemic restrictions, but the Rotary Club of Mountain Top, PA usually runs an excursion with #425 from the Penobscot Yard in Mountain Top down to Jim Thorpe every year around this time. It passes through the same areas of the Lehigh Gorge and then some. It would definitely make some great videos!
