NUR 112 / Fundamentals of Nursing
- Tuition, Supplies, Books: ~$3,000
- Class Days: 2 days/week
- Lab days: 2 days/week for one month
- Clinical days: 2 days/week for one month
- For tests I utilized the pre class assignments, PowerPoints, my books, and the evolve question bank that was included in our tuition.

@@daishanewsomednp6956 WRTTC in Ft. Stockton but it's through Midland College. I live out in far West Texas and I'll still have to drive 1 hour one way to get to school and when we start clinicals I'll be driving close to 3 hours to attend different hospitals for a broader experience than just a community hospital.

I recently discovered your videos and they are helping me push myself to apply to LPN school. I'm currently an MA working full-time and I know for a fact I can't not work full-time while in school so i'm looking into evening/weekend courses. I feel in my heart that I can do this, money is the biggest issue at the moment. This gives me drive and inspiration, thank you. 🙏

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m looking for a part time program and I did find one for 16 weeks. It’s just I gotta take the e teas so that requires studying for that. Goodluck girl! You got this

Hey. I’m in high school right now and aspire becoming an LPN. I am not that good at maths and science in high school. Will I be able to make it studying for LPN or pre reqs?

Yes you can study I live in Houston Texas and my prerequisites were 2 classes which were vocational nursing nutrition and A and P since you are in high school just buy the books .Not for sure if you can take evening classes for prerequisites and the crn number you have to get from program people .I graduationed in 2010

I’m scared of the dosage calculations pharmacology. Any tips?

I was scared at first but it’s not that hard, we use calculator . I don’t like math ever since but dosage and calculations is the easiest one. Just follow the formula and you’ll be fine. I am in LVN program right now and we are on module 2 and we just finished our dosage and calculations exam.

How do schedules works? Mine will be 8am-2:30pm Monday-friday. I've seen is similar for most lpn programs but also people say they went a few hours one day and day 1 day off.

Class was 2 days a week (8-3) and clinical were 2 days a week (7-3)

Not really in first semester. It was mainly just conversions. It did get harder 2nd semester.

Typically what time do you have to be at clinicals?

They were 7am - 3pm first semester. 2nd and 3rd semester we had 7am-3pm mostly and a few 3pm-11pm (maybe like 3 total)

I just wanna know how bad are dosage calculations? Lol. I start LPN school August of this year and 1st semester will be pharmacology and fundamentals. Good luck with your journey!

First semester dosage cal isn’t that difficult, but once you start med surg the IV math was little hard but once you get it down you’ll be good.

Don't you think cnas should be exempted from some of those fundamentals

I think so, because most of them aced fundamentals because they learned it taking CNA classes. The only new thing were the meds and skills.

I have heard about that school and I heard bad things about it, they had low pass rates in my area. And I heard it was expensive. And southern union state community college

you can make it, you'll just have to do a little extra work to get better bc math and science are highly important. The Organic Chemistry Tutor and KhanAcademy on KZfaq are very helpful for math and science.

Some Tech Community Colleges at least the one in Louisiana only requires an Accuplacer test to get into the program. Sorry this is so late but am thinking of returning to school myself.

There're 20 months and 11 months LVN school. Whatvare the difference

The one with the shorter months usually teach faster and have a lot more info to go over so your tests will have a lot more info compared to the 20 month program.
