Be honest. It didn’t get the hype then because no one was stuck inside the house watching stuff. Since everyone is on lockdown, it have help a lot of movies and shows blow up. Not saying it wasn’t good, I’m glad it got the recognition that it deserve because the show is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@phrdit7229 I have nothing against them personally but you see, black American culture is the face of "general black culture" globally. I lived all over Asia and when they think of black people, they think of hip hop, jazz, mj, and Michael Jordan, Louis Armstrong etc.,very rarely do they know the top black pop singers in Nigeria or Britain(of course there is 1). So black American culture is the cool factor for global black culture. When I lived in China and Japan, guys from Nigeria and other parts of Africa would lie to foreign women and tell them they were black Americans so they could get laid. They also would lie so they could get DJ jobs and etc. Black American culture is cool. So as for as the British invasion goes, Brits white and black grow up consuming black American culture and not wanting to feel left out, black brits would take on Black American lingo and style to in a way feel connected to us. This is not a problem, but what usually happens is that these black brits are no different than whites in the sense that they will dress up like black Americans, copy our style for entertainment but do not speak up against injustices that black Americans face everyday. These black brits probably go home and brag to their white brit buddies how cool it was to be a black American on film, but they probably won't go back to Britain to have a conversation about reparations for slavery, especially since Britain played a HUGE role in the slave trade which resulted in over 5 million black bodies under the Atlantic Ocean and about 1.23 million Black bodies buried in the United States, not to mention years of government laws that hindered Black American progress. This is not all of Britain's fault, more than half is on the U.S. but this conversation should be mainstream. You understand?
