I can say with great confidence that they have done a hard job to change all the swords into a better version. Now it doesn't matter which swordsman appears, pro or novice, they will still be able to kick anyone's ass even with a regular katana.

Mate they not only reworked em but buffed some of them Here is one: Dual Katana Whirlwind does way more knockback helping you kill bosses as you have time to run and heal when you are low.

i do realize that after the revamp of all sword, the damage secretly nerf by a little. Proof that before his katana damage fron the x skill was 40, but now after the revamp the damage is 36. You can see it at the beggining.

cause when you hold x more, the aoe of the move becomes much larger. So they decided to nerf the damage so that it'll be a little more balanced
