Kailey Kornhauser and Marley Blonsky are on a mission - a mission to change the idea that people in larger bodies can't ride bikes. The duo aims to make cycling more inclusive, beyond just inviting people of all sizes to ride bikes, but by changing the entire idea of what it means to be a cyclist - not just on screens, but on trails and in people’s minds.

That's true to a point, but not everyone who rides a bike is a cyclist, in the same way that not everyone who drives a car is a motorist. I think that to be a cyclist you have to enjoy riding your bike and be passionate about it; the same applies for motorists - there has to be an element of skill involved and pride in what you do, that's what elevates a bike-rider to a cyclist and a car-driver to a motorist. Maybe I'm just waffling; tell me to shut up!

I took a day long mountain bike course one day and our coach / instructor said: if you don't get off your bike , it's not an adventure. (in other words....get off and push!). So don't worry about how you get up the hill. Great on you guys! Inspiring. Decades ago I was drinking and smoking myself to death and then I saw a fat guy just trying to jog around the block. It is on that day that I decided to stop killing myself and at least try to get around the block. It's all about getting out. It's all about one block at a time, one ride at a time. Right on guys! You're great. Life inspiring.

Fair play. You are right that it should just be about getting out there and enjoying trail ahead not how you look. I’m not fat but I am a disabled cyclist and get a lot of “are you sure you can do that?” Negative stuff so can’t imagine the grief you get. So fair play for just enjoying riding bikes and inspiring others to do the same.

I can’t even begin to say how much I love this. I am a fitness coach for 21 years and I have always preached “It doesn’t matter what you look like, just move that beautiful body of yours and DO WHAT YOU WANT!” I lead a weekly women’s group ride in Fort McMurray called ‘Rip ‘n Sip’ and I encourage all ladies, no matter what size or level of rider you are, to come out and play bikes. We ride as a pack. No one is ever left behind. Ever! Then we all go have beers and food together at a local pub. It’s freakin wonderful. We only get one shot at this life. Live it the way you want. Do more of what makes you happy. Screw what anyone else thinks. I am sharing the crap out of this. Love everything about it. WTG ladies. YOU ROCK! 🤟

Props to these women. I use to be a couple oreos from 400 lbs. I didn't even consider getting on a bike until I was 250 lbs. I was worried how I'd look being big on a bike or if the bike could support the weight. Biking was definitely a catalyst for me losing more of the weight. At that point I already had done much of the work with intermittent fasting and lower carb. Biking made exercise more fun and a habit that made me not feel like I was working out, but doing something enjoyable. I'm glad they didn't let their weight stop them from enjoying the sport like it did for me.

Does it matter...my age.....my body.....my bike.....how fast (slow) I ride.....how far I go??? I just want to be out there ‘flying’ on my bicycle, listening to the birds, watching the sky change, breathing in the changing seasons, soaking up the scenery..... If you girls lived near me I’d so love to share those experiences with you. 👍👍👍🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️

I'm stoked for everyone who rides. Personally carried over 260 - 275 lbs all through my 40s and 50s. I too found myself behind any group etc but never let that bother me. Now at 221# but the loss came from changes in appetite due to Covid-19 ( a blessing in disguise for me ) and retirement. Keep up the great attitudes! If you want to lose weight it is 90% how you eat. "Portion size and exercise" is my new mantra. These days burgers are beer are a rarity. LOL

@@systemsbroken ever heard the saying, “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all?” Or in layman’s terms, shut the f*** up and let the adults carry on the conversation. Bye.

Thank you so much for that! Love this! It's just so cool and beautiful to stress this side of cycling, just riding your bike, traveling, enjoying yourself outdoors and feel positive about yourself. It moves me deeply. While athletic, ultraendurance feats and watts per kilogramm are astonishing to watch and inspiring in a different way, we tend to forget that those things shouldn't set the norm to measure us against. This journey and their stories are so much more inspiring. It's a reminder to readjust our perceptions everyday, to selflove, respect a person and not accept bodyshaming in any way. Cycling is simply a great quiver of possibilities to have fun, get around, get to know yourself and in touch with others. Again, THANK YOU!🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for reminding me that bike riding is about the joy of the experience - and not all about watts/kilo and VO2 max. I will share this video with my racing buddies to remind them too. Well done Kailey and Marley!

Thank you, this is an important video. Too many people think they can't cycle, because they aren't thin, don't want wear spandex, be hunched over on a racer, and spend as much for a bike as an old car. I am 58, and fat. Cycled 4,000km last year, did three centuries last year. Planned to cycle 100 km in a day this week, but the Swedish spring weather had other plans, snow and 45 km/hr winds.

Well done... Thank you Kailey and Marley for sharing your stories and using your experience to empower other cyclists. My favorite quote from this film is “to be a cyclists, you just have to be a person riding a bike.” So true... Keep having great adventures!!
