At 73 years old, Arnold Grayston is about to start the most important journey of his life. He is sailing around Wales by sea and the rivers that flow near the border with England in a small inflatable boat, all in the memory of late wife Karen.
He will start in Shrewsbury, travel down the River Severn to the Bristol Channel, then by sea around the coast of Wales, including Anglesey. He'll enter the canal network at Chester, then navigate the Shropshire Union Canal and the Montgomery Canal to the point where it crosses the River Morda, Then he'll travel down the Morda, The River Vyrnwy and along the River Severn back to Shrewsbury.
He expects the whole trip to take about two weeks, and hopes to raise as much money as he can for Severn Hospice.
