@@RebelTech1990 i notice something from my Zoom F6. When I use it as an interface via usb c cable to iphone, the sound is terrible. Eventhough I use sennheiser e935 dynamic mic, but the ambience sounds was too loud in the recording. I have much much better result when I use Zoom F6 as a recorder. So quiet without any noticeable ambience sound. Could you explain why?

I may have missed the first noise test on the SM7B but I'm kind of torn between these two. I'm only streaming and/or recording for YT gaming videos but my room is absolutely horrible currently. Lots of background noise and treating just is not an option in this particular room. Currently using a condenser (Blue Yeti) and as such I've been forced to use NVidia Broadcast to filter background noise which is really killing the sound quality. If you had to choose one of these based purely on noise cancellation would you have a preference? I assume the Shure SM7B?

The Shure Sm7b is definitely better but at a cost. You can get a mv7, wave xlr, fethead, and cable for a little over $400. It’s just a little over the sm7b cost but you get a lot more. The sm7b, wave xlr, fethead and cable would be close to $650. That being said, if you have the extra cash, the sm7b is well worth it. You can try to finance it on musicians friend, sweet water and probably more if you look. Hope this help! Thanks for checking out the video!

I bought a MV7X just to talk to my buddies with on Discord. I love it. Edit: I actually personally hate the orientation of the XLR port on the MV7X but it's not enough to be a deal breaker for me.

It is a great mic, the plosive rejection could be better but that can be fixed with a pop filter or windscreen. Thanks for checking out the video!

How much gain does the Shure MV7X need without a cloudlifter booster?
@ChrisSpiegl
@ChrisSpiegl 2 жыл бұрын
Powerful comparison. Now it's not a surprise that the Shure SM7B is the (pretty clear) winner. But it's obviously also coming with a much higher cost - always room for both options. I find it really hard to make comparisons like this on my own channel… one is better but the other has clearly a better quality but costs more. Never an easy thing to stay unbiased and try to still talk about these devices as valuable for the right customer.

I definitely find it hard to keep my “audio snob mentality” out of it. I need to just listen with fresh ears and keep and open mind. I even mix up the tracks to try to trick myself. Or see if I can tell the difference in a blind test. I think you would do well with these. Mostly because you can break down gear very well. That’s most of the work. The opinion is just something to give it a personality to the video.

A great comparison to show the differences and similarities. At the end of the day they are both magnificent mics in their respective class. For example, compare the MV7X vs the Presonus PD70. Comparing apples for apples, and both are marvellous. I own all three SM7B, MV7X and PD70 and they are all great. I'd like to hear what you think. Keep it up mate. Cheers from Australia the home of Rode.... but that's a whole other story.

Will the MV7X be good for professional voice over and podcast in an Untreated room? Or will you recommend SM7B for untreated rooms?
@RebelTech1990
@RebelTech1990 2 жыл бұрын
I think you’d be better off with the MV7x but I say this because you can use the extra cash to get some moving/sound blankets to reduce reflection in the room. They don’t reduce outside noise perfectly but, for me, they work very well. Considering how it was before of course.

As the chart shows the difference is at the highend, the old one is softer despite of that very detailed, the new one is harsher at the top end, Howevever for the old one price there are better options in dynamic microphones as far as sound goes,

Great Video, well put together. I myself prefer the Rode Procaster as it suits my voice better than the SM7B. But I did buy the Shure MV7X as a backup microphone, and I do like how it sounds. I seem to be using a lot of Condenser microphones lately, but I always come back to the Rode Procaster.

Also, my dude, very unrelated question, but I need to ask. I kinda noticed a Go XLR Mini in the background. Was just curious about the latency with headphones. Is it okay? Like a usual audio interface? Also, will there be a review on it? Hahaha! Cheers again. Great stuff as always!
@RebelTech1990
@RebelTech1990 2 жыл бұрын
I never noticed any major latency. I use it for all of my streams and it works great. As far as a review, it's already up. Unfortunately not many people have watched it. It's just a device that was a flash in the pan but definitely paved the road for future gear in the audio world. Here's the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o9uknLd1rNzHcYE.html Let me know what you think and if I can make some other cool stuff around it.

You should look into the Wave XLR first. To be honest, if I had the choice between the two I might have gone with the Wave XLR instead. ElGato is a reliable brand and TCHellicon basically has given up on updating the GoXLR. I might even sell my GoXLR and get a Wave XLR. Of course after doing a comparison video lol
@itscarlosreally
@itscarlosreally 2 жыл бұрын
@@RebelTech1990 so I've heard. I think the TC-Helicon peeps who developed the GoXLR actually went over to Elgato (unconfirmed, must double check lol). Also, the Wave XLR is almost half the price of the Go in my country, so, indeed, worth considering!
@RebelTech1990
@RebelTech1990 2 жыл бұрын
They actually left and made their own company. They are about release their own mic and multifunction pad/interface. Basically trying to start up their own Elgato. The company is called Beacn. Alpha gaming will have a video out soon and it looks like they are gonna change the gear game again.

hi bud, great and helpful video.. im deciding which one to buy right now but as u say it depends on the use. My personal use is 1 for voice overs as a job and 2 singing as I do a lot of vocal recording... obviously the sm7 is the clear winner but the problem is I live in the UK and basically every penny i earn goes to tax in order to sustain our mp's who have a dificult life exting on 86k a year plus 160k in bonuses and having housing and food paid for.. i dont know how they survive! anyway what im saying is im pretty broke.. so i need to know if the mv7x would cut it for singing vocals..cheers bud
