It kinda feels like they never intended this to be the "best in the franchise". They're showing potential but everything's limited so we don't get overwhelmed with the changes. Farm decorating, but make it limited to how and where it should be placed. DLC characters, but all for fan service. Online, but just for sharing photos. Never the whole experience.

They should've brought back the "build mode" from previous SoS and made the buildings only moveable in it.

I think this is an okay update. Like you said they could definitely do more. I just wish that the developer of this game would have taken some notes from the 3ds franchise because Trio of Towns and the first Story of Seasons game as they raised the bar. I am glad that they are making updates and i am still playing the game because it is great to go back to it every now and again to get a break from RPG's. We are still waiting for that furniture update like i really want to rotate my furniture because it is bugging me the way that they are placed lol. For me the DLC is not worth it that is why i did not buy it and i am glad that i didn't. I would also like for them to have more than one request on the request board a day. Like maybe have some easy to hard ones to complete. Maybe have a better reward with it besides money. Great video.

Would've been nice to have all the NPCs from the DLC at all of the festivals, but at least the DLC marriage candidates won't leave their date hanging anymore when it comes to the couples events.

I'm surprised they're still updating this at all. That 3x3 harvesting looks awesome. What a good addition. That last quest chain is basically a slap in the face though for all the effort/hoarding that's necessary.

I really appreciate that they've continued to update the game. I think it shows that they really do care about what they're putting out there and how fans experience the game. It isnt a perfect game but it was worth every penny for me. I think about how I paid full price for harvest moon: one world and playing both really reveals which one of these games was made out of passion and not because of a recognized name that will sell easily with little effort. 😅 I'm really excited for whatever game comes out next from them. It's not often that I feel like I can really trust developers of a series to make the next even better than the last.

Think ill wait to get this game till they make the house customization and farm decorating less limited. Also they need to allow makers to be placed indoors and closer together

Hopefully with all of these patches, changes, and additions, the developing team is taking this into account for future games in the series.

This game was so lacking it made me miss trio of towns. So I started replaying ToT last month and still enjoy playing it so much that I havent touched PoOT ever since.

Thanks for showing the rewards for the spirit quests! I'm currently working on the one to unlock the tunnel. I'm a little disappointed that there aren't really any more rewards after that, so I won't waste my materials! I'm still in year 2 and i am very inspired by your beautiful farm!

I would like to be able to organize my crafting box. Trying to find makers and other things can get a little irritating when it's in random spots.

As someone who is still in the beginning of the game I’m excited about these updates, but I hope they add more content for late game! Moving the items within the museum would be a big improvement.

Excited about this update and I still am. Just got a bit underwhelming. I'm guessing it's because the real focus was to integrate the spirits and the quick harvest option. The latter is pretty much a step-up mechanic. The rest were just a bandage solution for the game's lack of challenge and the museum renovation might even be a last-minute addition just to compensate for it. It felt like straight up mockery for doing so much I'm sorry 😂

The measum they massacred it now it looks like everything else. Still the triforce easter egg was cool. Still not enough to get me to play again.

I think they made the update seem better than it would be. Showed two new outfits on trailer but they were out of 3 :/ and then the hair cuts are only short hair ones. It was a needed update but was expecting more. DLC characters would have been nice to see in Olive Town too. There is still the construction area as well on the game where there are just construction barriers.... I thought they would have fixed that where there was a purpose for the path being blocked off.

Late response but I'm still hoping for portraits in a future update. I know it's extremely likely to never happen (especially with the camera option to show everyone's faces more) but I'm still hoping.

I like that they are making updates to bring players (like me) who beat the game and stopped playing a reason to play again. I wish we got more content in the hairstyles and outfits though. I can't see myself wanting to pay for any of the new three outfits. I only like the girly clothing options though so maybe this update was to fill out more of the androgynous or male clothing choices. As for the hairstyles, I only liked one of them but I never end up picking any of the short hairstyles anyway. Plus I feel like there aren't a ton of long hairstyles to begin with. I love the challenging quests and the new harvesting mode though! Thanks for telling what I've been missing, it was a great video!

it's really cool update escpecially the harvest system and characters from dlc that you're dating came to the festival, eventho really like more if all of them can go to olive town in festival without dating, random its okay just send some people on the event and the others people on the next event. it will be amazing if they do that

This is a nice update, but to demand such heavy and hard to get items and fish then no real reward and still be unable to adjust the museum’s items is just not worth it to me. Once I get to those quests, will probably stop there. I’d like to wait and see if they ever update those. Still sad the other villagers don’t visit the town for all the festivals or don’t have any festivals of their own on their islands relating to their old homes.

Thanks for the overview of the update. The hype on social media made me so excited but maaan apart from that shortcut to area 3, the mass harvesting ability and a few quest lines there's not much else that interest me... it's disappointing that they have all the resources to make the game good but just don't really bother to do so. The fact that indie developers can make the game so much better but charge a lot less is something that annoys me so much 😒 was hoping for something like may be a shed of some sort like in stardew valley so you can store all that ugly crafting machines or storage boxes in, or hide them all in a factory like in my time of portia since those just take up so much space... oh well...

Honestly i hope they will add so many fun things from sos trio of town like, npc have special dialogue after you give them food a day before, food have special effects like make you walk faster

Im just worried about the company, I mean the Doraemon story of seasons, even the mineral town remake where so good, but Olive town and the new Rune factory, feels like there something missing, like for some reason a big guy say hey ! Rush the game I dont care is you finish the development process. I hope this doesn't affect the company and furthers games.

I just downloaded the game about a week ago. Almost through the first year! I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE, now that I KNOW for SURE 3x3 harvesting is a thing. Hi Josh! I have a question about an area in the game I have yet to unlock. I can’t find any info online, and maybe I’m looking for the wrong thing. But there’s this blocked area north of town close to Iori’s house. Any idea what’s in there and how to unlock it?

Still waiting for them to do the rival marriages. Might not have been as promising for the Japanese gamers but for many American players it was part of the challenge and fun to see all the other villagers children and interactions later.

I was so excited when I heard about this update because I feel - while there are a lot of hair styles and clothing choices - it was pretty limited compared to the other SoS titles. After seeing this, while I though the new additions were cute, I was expecting more. I admit I haven't touched my game in... well over 6 months I think but each time there was a dlc drop (I paid for those when I bought my copy) I did boot it up to check it out. However each time I was more disappointed. I felt they really under utilized the additional areas. They could have introduced more regional animals/crops/festivals. I also would have like to see something that helps you with the moles in the lowest levels in the third mine. Perhaps a single use item that would repel or lessen the appearance of the moles - just made with a mix of foragibles and other crops or flowers.

the 3x3 harvesting should just be a thing since day 1 🥺🥺

How do you get the quest for the hair styles?

Already have the update - released early in the west. So..yeah this was an okay update, i still would've loved, added expansion - real ones, that allows you have more content with the marriage candidate... another one again I would preferred portraits over zoom in faces. Anyway, I am glad I stopped playing this game - never got far cause the game is just bad :/, it was really boring, I have been playing the older series - really much more good, however, after this update, I will end up playing this game again after just not wanting to touch it due to the issues it had. I wonder if this update is just a tip of more to come. Like for example, the DLC marriage candidates. Perhaps they didn't want to risk a massive update for those candidates to go to every festival 🤷🏼‍♀️ I haven't played in awhile (other games and that) but this update just seems a little lackluster. Then again I only want 2 key things: - rotate furniture - hand in all items for appraisal at once Maaaaybe your kid growing more and interacting more with others, but that may be asking for too much lmao

Maybe, SoS PoOT need update like, when Winter, Character need some specific cloth or hot drink to against cold air XD. Especially when snow rain. So it will more realistic, maybe ? XD Or when rainy, character need raincoat, or character health/stamina will drain if not use the raincoat

... I mean... The tunnel would have been super useful to someone at early game. late game we dont really need it that much anymore because we've done a lot already. Seems too expensive to me. Also the costs of making the exterior of the musiem different is disapointing because all that materials just for something asthetic seems dumb too. Aside from us being able to harvest in a big area, there isnt much that i'm happy about for the expansion. I was hoping they would open the blocked off area by this point. I agree also having marage candidates join you for festival events even little ones would be nice. I assumed thats what was going to be happening so honestly I was just more disapointed in this update. At first I was excited, but when i realized things werent going to be how I immagined they would be finding the realitiy of it was very disapointing. Still plan to play it, on PC now, but yeah i'm a bit underwhelmed with the hype for the update.

I preordered this game and paid for the DLC and I’ve tried on 3 separate occasions to get into it but I find myself getting more frustrated than having fun after a few hours. For one, the respawn rate for trees, weeds, rocks and PUDDLES (omg I get so tired of running around and scooping puddles and banging down trees on a daily basis, then poof no more energy to do much else) is unreal. Secondly I hate having to run to the museum almost every day to have the same 5 items appraised. It wouldn’t be awful but having to appraise each item one by one? Come on. I feel like once one item has been appraised, it should come out of the ground as that item and not a mystery bag. That would save more museum runs as well and build up excitement knowing that when you DO get a bag it’s something you haven’t yet found. Also it sucks that I can’t get rid of the eyesore lakes on my farm, just adds more frustration to the constant respawning of trees and large clunky makers and pumps that take up way too much room. Sorry this turned into a rant, love the video covering the updates I just wish they were better updates. It just sucks knowing that I’m not the only one by far who has issues with these things and they’re still not being addressed/fixed. I personally don’t care about new clothes, fix these annoying issues and I’d probably really love playing the game! I’m just so dang annoyed that this game could be so much better and easier to play. I’m angry I paid over $60 for it because I thought i was going to love it as much as previous titles. 😞

Honestly, I really like Story of Seasons. I've played about 4 franchises (Mineral Town, Sunshine Islands, Leaf Valley, Trio of Towns), but I havent been into PoOT as much as I did with the others. This game just seems lacking. Don't get me wrong, it's still good and I still want to play it, but it's definitely not one of the best. Probably even pretty low on the list 😔

experimenting on Unity, having no "full feature set", makers being a call back to SoS1 but SLOWER, this update only rectifies the DLC and a little QoL, but even then the QoL still has to be ground on but I think its them testing the logic "can we make a 3x3 plots" soon thats instantly harvestable yeah seems like its setting up a 3oT like experience down the line, the events are fine but I guess they need to make a better scenario writer, maybe we will get another update down the line that simulates the functions of Crop Circles from 3oT. so right now I feel like this is basically their beta sandbox platform to poke around Unity but here are my hopes down the line bring back the Crop Circles, BUILD MODE! (your farm is effing huge) also being able to see your overall farm layout not like SoS1 or ANB, lastly a "foundation" building system

This is my very first game of SOS, and hearing everyone find that the game lacks some quality, I have to agree. It felt like it was missing things that could make it better. I’m also glad I didn’t buy the dlc since everyone was slightly disappointed on that as well.. i personally wouldn’t want to spend $60 on this, I’ll definitely try the other versions.

I was excited with this, but wasn't able to get it because of financial constraints. But I was able try it with recent NSO game trials and it just felt lacking, in a way that there's not much event at the start. The previous entries, especially with mineral town remake had a lot of cutscenes at the start -from first meet and tutorials in the morning. This one feels empty in that, the tutorial is even late. I had already planted stuffs before it came, maybe I am biased but I think even newbies would've already done that. The game model is a real upgrade, but it's not really engaging game wise.

Wait, are the new hairstyles you showed locked behind post-game? We don't get them from the get go? Did I understand that right? Kinda sucks that we have to go through all the storyline and then some to get those 😕 I can understand making the clothes a reward but hairstyles? C'mon, I want that cute braided hairstyle to start with, I don't like the other short/mid-lenght "girly" hairstyles we have, and we don't have any braid ones iirc 😣 (been a **very** long time since I played this game). I also find kind of dumb that we get to have shortcuts on the farm in post-game when it's in early/mid game that it'd be the most useful imo.

Such amazing farm gameplay cool farming features with completely no life added to it. I have never had a game feel so hallow to me. Such lifeless characters. The world feels empty. Besides the cut scenes.

Honestly the dlc characters not showing up to all the festivities is really disappointing I’ll definitely be waiting to get dlc when they do decide to make another game don’t get me wrong I’m happy ludus is in there but other then him all the other characters are basically useless but I do think they made some good changes witch I’m happy about but I am mostly done with the game so I think mabey I’ll try one more playthrew and then I’ll wait for the next game

They had a final, three step quest with huge costs and it's.. a reskin of the museum with no interior changes. Not even a gameplay reward? Ah, I don't know. It's not going to bring me back to the game, especially not with the updates/new game releases this season.

This game should of been developed more it just doesn’t feel complete for some reason and the fact that there’s no harvest festival, animal festival or cooking festival is another reason why this game isn’t as good. I actually prefer the SOS games on the 3DS over this one.
