It still blows my mind that Miamoto though the DKC games were a "disappointing mistake". One of the few times he made a bad call, glad he can appreciate them now.

I just realized at the end game screen of DKC2 where you see Mario and Yoshi...you can see Sonic the Hedgehog's shoes next to the trash that says "No Hopers". That is a hilarious dig at Sega during the old rivalry days

One thing 3 had over 2 imo is it had the best and most challenging bosses. Save for 2s battle with k. Rool which is just best in the series overall imo.

Can someone help me? in this phase of the final boss, in the last part (in the very last part, after the message appears on the screen, at the minute of this video at 06:22) when he starts jumping, I can't dodge. I've seen in some videos the person passing under him when he jumps, but I can't do it at all. I always end up bumping into him and dying. Can someone help me? I've been stuck on this for months.

all three games are good though the first game will always be the best for me. the first game i can complete but only on the snes mini. the second game i got past the first boss but struggled after a few levels beyond that. the third game i got past a few levels but not got as far as the first boss yet. the gameboy got a port of the original arcade game with additional stages in 1994 and a DKC style game the following year in the form of donkey kong land. the nes and virtual boy should have got similar games like the donkey kong country games on snes and donkey kong land on gb. having watched the playthroughs of the nes hacks my ideal nes donkey kong country/land game would have dixie as the main protagonist with diddy and kiddy having partial roles in the game. most levels and bosses would be from the second and third games of the DKC series though the first battle with krow in diddy's kong quest and the first battle with KAOS in dixie kong's double trouble would be omitted. most kremling enemies and DK's animal friends along with the ruins levels from both donkey kong country and donkey kong land would also be in the game as would the factory, treetop, ice caves and minecart levels from donkey kong country; and the scaffolding, tall building, airship, swimming section in the ruins and cloud levels from donkey kong land thus making this game almost as big as ninja gaidens 2 & 3; smb 3 and castlevania 3 on the nes. this would come out on a yoke yellow cartridge just like DK land on the game boy and just like zelda came out on a gold cartridge on the nes and majora's mask came out on a gold cartridge on the n64. mario vs donkey kong should have been a snes game also. it would be in a similar vein to the donkey kong games that came out on the nes. the dixie kong game would come out in early 1997 a couple months after DKC 3; and mario vs donkey kong would come out in early 2000. kerozene and kroctopus would be in a DK country/land game on the virtual boy.

Ashame we dont have k rool in future DK games. He was a king in 1, pirate captain in 2, mad scientist in 3, and a boxer in 64. Just imagine the possibilities of what profession he would be in future final battles in the DK series. (But yeah Nintendo bring back K Rool and the Kremlins in future planned instalments.)

I love that in DKC1 K Rool got beat 1 time, 2 times in DKC2 ( main and secret part ) and in DKC3 he gots beaten 3 TIMES ( main, secret part and by the Banana Bird )... XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Each one had one huge factor in common: it showed Rare couldnt make a boss fight great

The original is the most fun to me, while the second did it best. The third lost the touch a bit.
