Random Thought:
What a difference a week makes! Mom is resting comfortably at home after her emergency hernia surgery. She's so grateful for the prayers, and dad and I have made sure she has all the soft foods a person could possibly want! :) Outside of having kids, this was mom's first hospital stay- I'd say she's pretty fortunate! Mom is always the one trying to help others... and I know her time spent "just laying there" made her uncomfortable. But you know what? She apparently had lots of conversations with her roommate, counseling her as she was going through a divorce. To this I would have to say... classic mom. Managing to be a blessing to someone even when she's laying in a hospital bed. She rocks. Thank you everyone, for caring! I love you!

Emily, we have a similar eye shape and your eye makeup always gives you a such lifted effect that I’m always trying to achieve. So I rewatched some of you videos and I realized that when you put color in your crease you stop a little bit before the outside corner of your eye. Many other youtubers take the crease all the way out to the corner of the eye. So I’ve been trying your way and I’ve achieved the lifted look I’ve been looking for! Thank you!

Happy Saturday morning Emily! I am crying right now because I’ve been having a very stressful week, husband was in the hospital, one of my babies is sick and we had to do remote learning due to a covid case in my kids’ class - so this video and all the ones you’ve posted this week have been my escape. Thank you so much for providing that for me! Hope your Mom is doing a lot better, I have been including her in my multiple prayers this week 🙏💜

I remember Cheryl Tiegs as the Cover Girl model for their Clean makeup line! Late 70's I believe. I really enjoy their mascaras and their TruBlend bush in Love Me is really pretty. Love those Milani blushes on you. Lovely look!

Love the little story about the girl in high school who you thought knew a thing or two about makeup! She was wearing highlight before we used words like that!!! Ah, so enjoying my morning ☕️ Why does no one else talk about these little Covergirl palettes? I was in a pinch one day, and I picked up the Desert Heat palette from the grocery store. I was so impressed. For everyday looks without a bunch of sparkle, this is the ticket. It’s blendable, you can keep it light or go dark. I’m loving it.

I remember in the late 90s/early 2000s L’Oréal made these single cream shadows in a clear package. They were pastel frosty shades and I had a light frost pink and I ROCKED it as a brown bone highlight. 😆 oh the frost pink and blue we wore in those days.

New drugstore 🙂🎉 I'm getting a bit tired in seeing an overload of Indie make up and luxury on YT lately...It's starting to bore me 😶 it's nice seeing more options! Especially because I like to actually go into stores to shop and try new things ☺️ I never really get any bad products from drugstore brands and like them as much as my other make up ... maybe more because I prefer to save money 💰

I love that light color for pale skin in the blush palette! Gives a bit of life to the skin in a not pink way which generally light colors are pink.

Ah the parent/teacher conferences. My daughter is autistic and every year has an IEP (Individualized Education Program) meeting to assess and go over behavioural goals and whatnot. I always hold my breath a bit before the conferences. They have not always been completely positive but at 18 years she is evening out..I absolutely adore her. Emily, thank you for your great videos. They give me wonderful and much needed breaks ❤️. Also, I am going to CVS and will pick up the Covergirl eyeshadow palette.

Something I LOVE about CG is they are THEE ONLY brand that I’ve tried that offers an EXACT shade match for me no matter the time of year. I have a VERY COOL undertone & I get really tan in the summer. And their TruBlend line is absolute perfection I’ve never gotten a better shade match. The original formula (not matte) reminds me big time of the WnW Tinted Hydrator too which I also love.

I'm in the same age bracket as Em and I would imagine many gals watching her channel are also in the same age bracket. It's not that we are not pretty without make up but, despite the face creams and care we do, make up just instabtly transforms that 37 yro skin in such a satisfying way. I even remember being a kid and wanting to get into my mom's make up bag. She used to tell me "One day you will really need this stuff. Now you are just perfect the way you are!" Nostalgia.....

Hey Emily. I always love your videos. They help me forget the real world for a minute. I want to say I’m glad your parents are both ok and we’re both taken care of very well. My Nana (paternal grandmother) had a stroke recently and was in the hospital for a few days. She’s now in an inpatient rehab facility and is doing well thankfully. Thank you for reminding me that even though you are a makeup channel you are still a person with loved ones.

Hey Em, loved this try it out video and omg the Charlotte Tilbury video was so good too! I'm low key wanting to buy all the things you mentioned. But I also had this thought, have you thought about doing a "this is how to apply makeup" series? Like going through and explaining: where to put highlighter/bronzer, what some products do, how to do your brows, eye looks, etc. I ask because as a woman that didn't learn makeup from a female figure in her life, I've had to pick up things from KZfaq and I still get some stuff wrong (hello contour). And I wonder if there are other men and women out there like me who would love to learn the basics or even some more advanced techniques. I think the way you talk to the audience and the explanations you do in videos are great and I love to hear you talk about how products work. I'd love to learn so much more from you.

Yes been using the clean fresh covergirl foundation since early summer.. it still has noxzema smell, but brings me back to the 80's..🥰. luv it! You look wonderful!😍👍

That eyeshadow palette is a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury big palette in Pillow Talk. That plummy brown and several others remind me of the big Pillow Talk. Just without the really cherry reds at the end of the PT palette. Cover girl duped the more wearable less scary shades.

Hey Emily! I'm wondering if you've seen the newest limited collection from Wet n' Wild, with Little Twin Stars. Some of the makeup products look beautiful- although not very fall or Holidays appropriate imo- but WnW can be very hit or miss with their special releases. I know you are really familiar with their formulas, so I'm quite interested about your opinion on that. Also wishing a safe and quick recovery to your mum! Most mamas are so used to being the one taking care of everyone else, so they may be rather resistant to the idea of taking some time for themselves. I'm having a similar experience with my mother currently 😅

I've been using the Covergirl clean makeup foundation for YEARS! Love it. Keep going back to it. You talked about the kids needing to know about the shimmering sands, but I think y'all need to know about the country woods quad. That is definitely the daily worker. I have been using those colors as long as I have the foundation. Along with the foundation in classic ivory, country woods with glazed ginger (no longer can find it 😭😭) I used soft sable cheekers for my wedding makeup. I did use a Maybelline wine colored lip liner & Revlon wine with everything for my lips. I used a mascara from a brand no longer around. Covergirl though is the brand I keep going back to even after dabbling with high end products.

looks like rosacea to me...of course, it would be a rosacea flareup if I used that foundation with the noxious Noxzema fragrance...sorry, Emily, but IMHO that blush layering result is not your usual sophisticated look.

I feel like those Milani powder blushes would be great to mix together and get whatever kind of tone you want! I feel like people often forget you can MIX blush and other face products. If a blush is too deep I just dip back and forth between my blush and my face powder and it lightens it!

The palette is beeeeeauuuutiful but it looks like the many , many palettes I own in that color story. And I want it 😭 I like the CoverGirl shadow formula.

So excited about this video! I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised how pigmented the CoverGirl palette is. I can’t wait to see you use the other palette! I’m so happy to hear that Mom is home and doing well 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 of course she helped her “roommate” while she was in the hospital. Classic Mom! It's chilly here in Maryland and we had a gas leak in the garage so we're waiting for the plumber to have heat and hot water. Watching you with a cup of coffee and two shirts on!!! So much new cruelty free stuff! I’m intrigued by the reformulated covergirl eyeshadow, because their shadow tends to be a bit powdery and not pigmented, too many shimmers, not enough mattes. It might have passed muster 10 years ago, but not today lol. Hopefully they’ve updated to a more modern quality formula.

I always wanted to see a blended layered blush look on you and you look phenomenal! Haha I’ve been a subscriber for years and I like when you apply blushes but this look in particular was so nice on you in my opinion.

we don't have covergirl in my country, so I only know about it from Topmodel and the contestants going "easy, breezy, beautiful covergirl" my 14 year old self still remember this, even though it was so long ago :)

Hi Emily I was on the verge of being excited when you pulled out the cooler toned palette with those purples and turquoises, but alas no we got the much more familiar warm toned palette demoed. Overall as ever I enjoyed the video, but as a pale/cool toned person I would never wear those warm tones and would have liked seeing that other palette chosen - just as something a bit different. Autumn/Fall tones for me don't include anything orange based and instead I use green/khaki, mauve, plum and burgundy shades. The cooler toned palette had more of a Winter or party vibe and something a little less seen in affordable brands. Best wishes.

Same , I also use hunter greens and Grey as fall colors , that pallet is like a cool tone dream for some fun looks yr round 🥳 might have to buy it and check it out myself

Leaving for Florida on Monday, had to get my Em fix. And I must say that Cover girl foundation looks amazing on you , dare I say better than some high ends!
