Exactly my thoughts. I tend to prefer JP dub as a whole because they rarely actually fail with casting (although I have certainly seen it a few times), and the voice acting is just so well done. Japan has one of the most competitive voice acting industries so it's only natural they have to be good. The way they are able to portray emotions in sometimes subtle, and sometimes strong ways is something I admire and respect so much. Did you hear Neuvillettes voice shaking at 5:08 ? Like it's so subtle but the amount of emotion that one breath gives is so impressive to me.

I initially was also surprised that he doesn't sound as deep in JP but now I just love his gentle and calm voice. It expresses his "difficulty in expressing emotions yet sensitive" personality so well.

Even if Fontaine is elevated, the defeat of the whale that triggered the flood happened there. Things need a certain time to move, so I think it went like this: Whale defeated -> a lot of water is released in Fontaine -> Fontaine is flooded -> the water naturally flows to a lower place -> since Fontaine is elevated, it is no longer flooded.

But of course we know Focalors doesn't know that the HP is currently incapacitated, so we got the archon quest. We also don't know if destroying the hydro throne would require the death of its current archon. Could it be possible that it could be destroyed without the archon dying? But we know that it requires a huge amount of power, the accumulation of indemnitium to destroy the throne, hence why it took 500 years to realize.

Let me explain: The way I think the prophecy works is that the person who made it could only see a few images from a particular person in a particular moment in the future without context. That's the only way they wouldn't have seen other people being alive in the water, Furina getting a vision or other things that wouldn't make sense in their interpretation of the future. In simple terms: they see a few things and those things are set in stone, they WILL happen, but the interpretation the visioner gives to those bits of info might have flaws. Assuming they only saw the four images, then the interpretation they came up with makes sense: The people of Fontaine are judging the hydro archon (Remember, that's who the oratrice sentenced), so that girl named Furina must be the hydro archon; then Furina is all alone in the same room while everything is flooded in primordial sea water, people of Fontaine dissolve in PSW, and this reinforces the idea Furina is the hydro archon since she isn't disolving, so "all the people dissolved and only the hydro archon remained is a logical interpretation". Thats why Foçalor passed a sentence for the hydro archon and why the deception and the sacrifice was necessary: The sentence to reinforce the idea that Furina is the hydro archon, the deception so they think the humans dissolved when they were seeing a human not dissolving, and the sacrifice to save the humans from dissolving in the first place.

I don't know if you read the quest, but I'm certain the EN team didn't, the amount of mistranslation and mischaracterization there is in the EN translation and voiceover for Fontaine quests in particular can only be explained that way

neuvilette has mentioned multiple times that he isn't great at expressing emotions and is learning the way of humans, so i guess that's why he sounds a bit more emotionless in his speech. I think the JP voice fits his character perfectly
