There are a few inflection points in this when the gas was really stepped on hard: Fubuki memes first appearing. Korone playing Doom64 and Doom 2016. and the launch of the EN branch. Gotta give big props to Gen0, Gen1, and Gen2 girls for grinding it out when their subscribers only numbered in the thousands.

I'm not 100% on the details, but I seem to remember hearing that she went through some shit early in her Hololive career. Sickness and maybe some other stuff. What matters is she got through it and is now one of the most beloved members of the agency. She should be proud.

Her struggle was very real and sad for most of her early career. And it wasn't showing any signs of significant growth for quite a while when suddenly clips of her GTA streams started going viral in the west, which first started Hololive itself to being exploding in popularity. (It was actually the clip of her innocently quoting the infamous Lamar meme that basically started Hololive lol)

It's crazy how much of a struggle it was to even get to 100k in the beginning and now we have new gens that have 100k subs before their first debut stream. Hololive has come a long way and I'm happy for them.

I'm pretty sure that's because a vast majority of vtuber viewers sub to many vtubers with some ebbing and flowing depending on preference. Gura is an anomaly who has millions of subs exclusive to her everyone else is an indicator to the current popularity of vtubing and as that increases newbies will have an easier and easier time rapidly growing

She is the "normie style streamer" vtuber, so non weebs are also liking her streaming style. Kusogaki, a little bit toxic, family friendly (no lewd jokes), her multitalents (dang, playing 4 instrumens at the same time) persona catch many Indonesian viewer... Her catchy Mantra Hujan arguably has the most fanmade versions of hololive song...

Based from trackholo, she's expected to have 1M subs in mid july, as long as she can keep her 9k-10k daily new subs. If it really happens, she's going to be 2nd fastest holomems to have 1M after debut, after gura ofc. But my wild guess, it's gonna be end of july, or maybe start of august.

Honestly i'm surprised at the growth rate of the hololive EN girls. I felt like Vtubing was more easter oriented so they wouldn't be as big, but Myth took off like a jet engine and is going super steady. Guras growth is insane to among the members. Wild to see it like this.

Westerners love anime too. Plus people kind of already new Gura so she technically hit 1 mil twice. There's also just way more English speakers in the world than Japanese. a few of the JP girls were really big on bilibili when they streamed on there too like Aqua was huge and fubuki i think too maybe

I think many people outside of America underestimate how big Americas online presence is, we just have a lot of people who use the internet and they do it all day every day, so all it took was 1% of all those people finding vtubing interesting for it to take off like this

@@mcronald6213 I think it's the opposite. I think you're overestimating how much of these non-japanese viewers are American. There's just as many Australians, French, and Europeans watching english vtubers, just as many people online all the time, if not more. America is only part of the equation.

It’s insane how the hololive girls combined subs(if you don’t count yagoo and the retired girls) have amassed just a little over 60 million subscribers! All of this in the past 4 years and 8 months! This niche Vtubing community is niche no more when just hololive alone has this many subs. Now if only they can finally add a hololive español branch. That will easily help add several more million subs so they can spread to the rest of the world

Most of the overlap will be segmented between language groups. Like not a lot of en fans will sub to Jp hologirls because of the language barrier. Like to enjoy Jp, I have to wait for clippers to translate. I'm subbed to all the en girls + Reine and Anya of Id. If they wanted to expand, Spanish would be great, and Hindi.

I hate to say, but I think she is somewhat lost at this moment. For various reasons she had a slow start, and then she had a long break due to family reason, at the critical time of her subs growth period unfortunately. She didn't stream often, and even though things have been a bit better for her recently, I think she still needs some kind of change for a breakthrough.

Being the lower list hurt so much if your subs are only in the hundred or a thousand, but after a hundred thousand Total Subscription becomes no longer really matter that much. Engagement, counted by Concurrent Live Views and Total Views, took control to be the most important parameter because they contribute to the number of superchats. Sana's view are decent compared to her JP senpais, and similarly with SC.

She's all about the grind bro. Idk if you've watched her story but I'm so glad she never gave up. Slow and steady grind to the top. Then she got her live concert I was in tears watching it thinking she deserves all this. It was magnificent. I will never stop being a hoshiyomi

She didnt transfer to Hololive until gen 3 i think. I'm pretty sure one of her first group streams as a hololive member was the stream where she got the name psycopath. I could be completely wrong though. She def wasn't with hololive for awhile though

Suisei was an independent vtuber for more than 1 year before joining INNK music (may 2019) and later being transferred to hololive together with a new model/character redesign (november/december 2019).

It's interesting to see how everyone gains subs every time a new gen debuts. A rising tide truly raises all ships. It's especially evident the moment EN debuted. I remember the entire community felt like it was hitting a breaking point, and then Gura dropped the "A" that shook the world.

New things bring new eyes. And, while they're there, new eyes can look around and find something else they like. Like a lot of people, I jumped on the band-wagon during covid. I subbed to a few, but I only really started looking around after EN debuted. Now I'm subbed to a number of talents, EN, JP and ID.

Can definitely confirm for me personally. I haven't heard of hololive before I saw a clip of Kiara doing one track of Mario Kart completely in german. That's where my fall into the rabit hole started and ever since I fell in love with the a shark, the reaper dad, the purple cat and yellow doog combo and many more.

Actually, the prototype of EN is Coco and ID gen1... They have positive responses from english speaking viewers and making way for the EN girls...

@@triviakenny6878 Certainly true. EN likely may not exist without Coco's input. ID likely had an influence, too. But, at the end of the day, the MYTH girls are incredibly talented. To be fair, it was an excellent call on Coco's part. English-speaking audiences far outnumber JP ones. English is one of the most common second languages around the world. It opened up an enormous potential audience.

damn theres so many emotion seeing this, i know vtubers 1 month after Gen3 debuts, now that i see it, Sora really deserve all the respect for her 2 years lonely struggle and carrying both gen 0 and gen 1 on their early stage, Gen 2 and Gen 3 really are awesome and i think those that responsible for how big Hololive now, and its funny that water related talent always the strongest contender on all region (Gura,Marine+Aqua,Kobo)

Everytime i see something like this i get depressed because its so sad how the very first hololive members got left behind and stil struggle until this day with subscribers compared to the 3rd or 4th generation of hololive members😭 well, theyro on around half a million so its not that bad, but compated to gura or korone or marine and all the others its just a lil sad

Yeah. She got struck with so much bad luck. Got hit the hardest by KZfaq sub purge, her pet passes away and then back illness force her to take extended leave. All this caused her growth to suffer terribly. But the hardest part is over and she just released her first og song. The future now is as bright as the sun.

Very enlightening video. It was entertaining trying to match the times to events in order to see what impulsed some of the girls growth (Like Korone´s Doom streams, or Miko´s GTA ones). Loved the little touches like Fubuki´s ¨YA-BE¨ as she was about to be overtaken by Korone, and then said doggo´s ¨WTF?¨ when a hydrodinamic Shark blew both of them out of the water. Well done. gura - 1st calli - 2nd ame - 7th ina - 14th kiara - 17th its honestly amazing how all five of them are in the top 20 with ina and kiara even switching places a couple of times in the ranking, im more suprised with ame though with how she got 7th place in the ranking so fast too, truly holomyth is really putting their all into their careers with how fast they went up with the rankings, specially gura who got 1m and 2m in just about 2-3 months after her debut, mad respect to all five of them for persevering through all the trials and challenges they broke through truly legendary

ngl, the JP members faced 100 times more trials and challenges than any EN members. Sora kick started Hololive with only 13 viewers in first stream. Fubuki carried Hololive to its current popularity and was facing tons of pressure to the point of tears. Miko and Suisei were indies and were doing terribly on their own. One false step and they would have quit really early on. Haachaman and Coco faced Chinese antis and it was not pretty. Gura says "a" and she got 800k subs.

@@munchuwu1649 That's hardly fair lol. They came to the scene much later, so it is beyond obvious they won't have as much intial struggle or pressure. The biggest worry in this day and age is visibility, but you don't get much more exposure than being a new debut at hololive. If you want to compare Myth, its much better to compare them to gen6JP, because there you also had a lot of built up demand (Gen5JP was like a year and a half before) with a much more similar sub-attracting environment compared to the early gens.

They pitched it to yagoo, he dropped his job at the time and started Cover. she hasnt even reached 1 mil yet. go support the queen!

I never pay attention much to the subscriber "race"? But looking back, this is such an interesting perspective. We took HoloFantasy for granted as JP's miracle gen, but they too were struggling at the beginning, Pekora was even the 4th most subbed in her gen, a far cry from being the most popular JP member today... I realize now that in Gen3 Noel and Rushia has a much more popular previous incarnation than Pekora, and PekoMiko previous incarnation pair was not as well known, a far cry from their Holo counterpart. Then as Coco bumrushed all her senpai she brought interconnectivity among all holomems with her asacoco as well exposing Hololive to kaigai audience, then soon the pandemic happened plus the fanclippers exploded, and with it blowing Hololive popularity sky high, dragging all members with it, but maybe especially Pekora, as she has tons of clippable moments. So is Korone, Miko and of course Fubuki... Fubuki doesn't need clips, she scatman her way to dragging kaigai viewers into hololive. Then of course Gura and Holomyth happened and those 5 just stormed youtube algorhythm and this chart. Leading the way of english speaking vtubing. Meanwhile in a dark corner, Holo ID is persistently struggling, barely noticed but working hard. But then a single "Hey Moona!" changes that, Ollie debuting and screaming her way to rise in the chart, and then Kobo came in splashing. What a story it has been.

Apparently she had such bad luck that family, work, health and depression problems accumulated in her debut period... I like Sana, but I feel that she was not comfortable at the beginning and that took its toll on her, the same to Mumei, Kroni and Bae who were not 100% to be Vtubers in hololive due to personal problems, the only one that remained stable was Fauna and now it is seen with its public that it formed a strong base
