This song is a masterpiece. Experimental, haunting and futuristic, and Frida's delivery is CRAZY! One of my favorite ABBA tracks of all time.

This is used as the opener to ABBA Voyage. They rise up out of the floor during the fade in. Perfection, perfection.

This is one of my all time favourite ABBA songs - definitely in my top 5! It is a very serious and sinister song and lyrics. It is about political dissidents in the cold war Soviet Union - waiting for the KGB to come and get her! One of ABBA´s few political songs! The lyrics, the synth sound . and most of all - Frida´s vocals are just oiut of this world! FANTASTIC SONG!

The Singer in the song is a Russian dissident who the old Soviet KGB {Secret Service } is after. She is expecting a Visit from them and is scared out of her mind. That's they way it was behind the Iron Curtain in the 1980's. Read about it.

This is hands down their best song. A total banger from their best album. It never fails to give me chills and I've heard it thousands of times. I've been in clubs when they've played this at 2am and it has gone OFF!

"The Visitors" is probably my favorite Abba Album. Everything sounded so different in the early 80s with more modern sounds and rythms.

This particular ABBA song has a very dark context. It is essentially about the Stasi (Secret Police) in East Germany and the control and terror they inflicted upon citizens.

Well, I'm so glad to see you again together with more reactions to ABBA songs "The visitors" (1981) gives me complex and different sensations ABBA was in a delicate personal stage, since they began recording the album right after Benny and Frida's separation. Björn and Benny were with their new partners, and as composers they entered the stage of experimenting, and with the project of writing a musical That is why I think that the title of the song and the album is not accidental, since in addition to being about the dissidents in the former USSR, I think that they speak of themselves as "visitors" of what "was" ABBA originally (in as for them as couples) Even the cover is very graphic: the Four separated and isolated (image that will be deepened in the official video of the future single "The day before you came" in 1982) the song itself is very good in its genre, it has a futuristic air (it could go as a soundtrack in a "Star Wars" movie) Frida does a great job in lead voice, the chorus is good but different from ABBA's more traditional, the use of synthesizers by Benny is majestic, and Björn's lyrics are strong I really like the song itself (8pts), but on the album "The Visitors" I prefer other tracks, the one I like most is the moving "Slipping through my fingers", which was performed live on the TV special 'Dick Cavett meets ABBA' I think that "The Visitors" was a single in a few countries like U.S. and is the opening track ot the homonymous album It hasn't a video or TV perfomance, but now in the Voyage Concerts that begin last May 26 (2022) in London is the fantastic opening concert I leave you a cordial greeting from my land Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America

ok so this track of ABBA, to me, is like riding a roller coaster. the beginning is the going uphill, (click, click, click......,) then the smillingggggggg part is the top of the hill,.....then the roller coaster decides at the first drop, speeding up, making your tummy tickle.......it goes in the twists and turns and up and down and all around, very much like the song does.......very very fun song from ABBA!!!!!!

4:48 I believe that was the melody Benny was originally going for but changed his mind at the last minute 😂. This song is a tour de force and if only it was as innocuous as expecting friends and family over for Thanksgiving. It's a lot more sinister than that. Even you , at the beginning felt like there was someone in the room with you. Spooky! Fun fact: Frida actually had singing lessons to train the natural vibrato our of her voice. Hence she sounds more cold and clinical, in keeping with the song's theme. Viva la Frida! 😍

This song is amazing and so chilling. When I was a kid I would play this loud (when the parents were out) and I could picture how the music video would go... A person ignoring the ringing phone in terror, the door handle being forced... When the chorus hits, the authorities burst through the door... and when that stunning instrumental bridge hits, the person is being dragged through halls to a room to be interrogated. I always hoped for a full-blown music video to come, but it never happened 😔 I'm sure there's scenes from a movie that would fit it perfectly 🙏💗

Why this was never a single, I’ll never know. Towards the end of their career B & B seemed to favour Agnetha for the single releases. Frida’s voice is stunning. Same with When all is Said and Done, which should have been a UK single.
