Let’s Gooooo Aces! I lope you win it all this year! I know that it is technically labeled as a, “disability“. However, dyslexia is NOT a disability; it’s a learning difference! . It was LITERALLY was nicknamed the MIT gene bc almost half of the ppl in MIT have it. So please don’t think of it as something “wrong”. people who have dyslexia make great entrepreneurs, artists and scientists! Albert Einstein, Tom Cruise, whoopie Goldberg and more! As a fellow dyslexic person I remember the shame and fear of struggling for confidence. My mom got me the help and a diagnoses. this enabled me to have support and readers in college and I was able to go on and become a successful person in my field of study. I love the fact that Coach Staley included faith in the thing that caused A’ja to struggle. To be honest the Bible is the only book that I could read without struggling. I guess it was something supernatural… Lol. So please don’t frame dyslexia as if it’s like some huge or even dismissive thing. Yes it’s important and we need to make sure we equip teachers and students to understand this learning difference, but it is not something that we need to treat like a disease or frame like it’s something we have to fight like cancer.
