Well in kairi's defence no amount of training unless your as good as a master can get you out of Xemnas I mean with no keyblade aqua got slapped around by xemnas even thou she did gave him a good kick but that's about it so I doubt kairi's current state can fight her way out of it...... I'm more concerned that sora, roxas, xion just let xemnas take kairi lmao (its more of sora and the others not paying attention and just let xemnas take kairi) than it being kairis fault cause she's the least experienced out of them all

@Eaxl Well, their relationship in KH1 was cute and had a bittersweet conclusion, but instead of expanding on it Nomura just kept Kairi in the background and focused on Riku instead. No wonder there are so many gay shippers when the main love interest is kept out of the picture as much as her, and considering the Secret Ending of KH3, Kairi will just stay back home and let Riku do the heavy lifting like usual (even though I don't have proper context obviously). They had a chance in this game to expand on her character, but they blew it. Let's just see how it continues I guess.

@@kev1nno The KH2 reference is kinda... iffy... We need even more intel in Keyblades. Cause I mean, the ONLY reason Kairi had a Keyblade in KH2 is cause Riku literally GAVE it to her (physically). Another question is wtf Riku got another Keyblade. If that's enough to summon a Keyblade, Jack would be able to too, cause Sora willingly handed him his KEyblade in KH2.

You gotta remember they were basically in the hyperbolic time chamber too though. The forest they were in stopped/slowed time. For all we know they were training for years worth just to be able to fully summon/wield blades in just a few days in the world with Sora and the rest. Shits complicated so who really knows anymore

Tatherwood Nah, the reason she was able to summon a keyblade was because she touched Aqua's keyblade while she was holding it in BBS, since Aqua was a master, they keyblade acknowledged Kairi as someone with potential to be a master. We got letdown though in this game, hopefully she becomes useful in the next one

Be that as it may, I think Riku had to go through more than Roxas. You're right that Riku was the one responsible for his own guilt, and that's what makes it worse. It's easier to get over something that's not in your control than it is to do the same with something that's you're fault. He caused so much pain, so much damage, and nearly destroyed his friends. That's a lot to shoulder, and that will follow him FOREVER. He spent the majority of the series feeling guilty, feeling unworthy, trying to atone. He went through a lot of soul-searching, as that's kind of what you do when the demons inside of you are... yourself. It gave him HUGE development to see him fall from the grace of being the Keyblade's chosen wielder, come to terms with his fuck up (though not forgive himself), find his own power without an official Keyblade, develop that power into a completely unique form that no one had conceived before (light and darkness together, a darkness that's not evil), and finally rise to become an actual Keyblade Master. Roxas didn't quite get all that. He didn't develop as much, but he still had to go through shit. He's still largely the same character he was at the start, while Riku is completely changed. Also opinions can be wrong. There's a difference between subjective opinions and objective opinions. A subjective opinion would be "I like x character better than y character". You can't be wrong when it comes to personal feelings. An objective opinion, on the other hand, would be "X character is better than y character", and THAT is when your opinion can be put up to scrutiny. You can feel however you want about the sky, but the minute you say "In my opinion, the sky is actually green" that's when you gotta be ready to defend that thought or relinquish it, because it's not immune to criticism or contention just because it's presented as an opinion.

I think Kairi is still gone, and has to learn to fend for herself in KH4 until she is saved.
