This years Scary Farm was so good better then HHN in my opinion, ive gone to scary farm 8 times this year and everytime the scare actors never fail, new maze was amazing I advise everyone to go before the event ends!

Knott’s Berry Farm has a lot of scary things.

Great job shooting these, but I feel like sometimes you do this 360 move to follow one character or follow them too long instead of showing more sets and props.

My local park, California Great America in Santa Clara doesn't allow taping. I see this was done on a media night. Does KBF also ban photography in mazes? Also very interested in the camera you used to take this. Low light performance looks good.

I just came back from this year's event; I didn't get to see Pumpkin Eater since i was too beat to go on (and going a little hoarse from yelping) but damn that was a good first impression. Wax Works was the first one I saw. I loved that some of the actors weren't monsters, but instead victims still in the process of being "remade." Really strong theming, and my only problem with it is the fact that a lot of the details rely on you not being rushed by the group behind you. The abomination at the end was Super fucking cool We went to Dark Entities next. Jesus christ the set dressing is effective. I was too scared to get anywhere near the walls not because I thought they would have actors on the other side, but because i was genuinely repulsed by the meat moss. The robots being mostly unaffected and trying desperately to figure out why the crew's vital signs are all over the place was a good touch. First one to get an audible scream out of me too thanks to an actor that had really good timing. Paranormal Inc was after that. The pre-show is SO good at hyping the rest of it up even if it's shorter than most. Loved the use of ziplines to make them fly. That ending in the "original" santiarium hall is by far the best propwork i've seen, and i'm shocked it didn't come from Universal. Also, when one of the actors leaned in to look at me as I was passing I nervously, reflexively said "Hello", and he just said "Hi" back in a completely unassuming voice, and once my guard was down he stomped his boot as i was turning around. God these people have a good sense of humor. The Depths was phenomenal. It didn't feel like any of the others, and combining the idea of a haunted mineshaft and a deep sea excursion into a flooded cave system lends it a unique charm, and even if it had the least actors at the time I went, it had the most unsettling atmosphere to me because of the set design being so good. Since most of the bodies were in mining outfits I couldn't tell which ones were gonna start moving, and what actors Were there, they went through the effort to learn very different movements compared to the other houses, using slow, graceful and smooth movements interspersed with lightning-quick bursts as if they were actual deep sea predators. The animatronic work and lighting really shines here, bringing the kraken and megalodon to life in a way that made them genuinely terrifying from how unfathomably large they were. Origins was tragically short, but a fun way to wind this all back to the roots of knott's berry farm by featuring a western tale of murder, revenge and curses. The ziplines here are great too, and the feeling of going through a cave system that empties out into the bowels of hell is a strong one. That giant hand reaching in at the final tunnel was VERY impressively textured, and the narration throughout all of it sells the hatred boiling over in the curse set upon Calico. Also on the way to it through the Ghost Town, my roommate accidentally dropped their water bottle and it burst open since it was made relatively cheaply. We were a bit devastated since that meant we had to buy bottles from the stands, but one of the actors just lets out a dramatic wail to the heavens in sympathy and we go from disappointed to complete hysterics and press onward. Dark Ride was just plain fun even if it was the longest queue time we had that night. A paltry haunted house set up in a rented-out theater being overtaken by demon clowns that make things all too real is a brilliant idea. Everything felt lively, especially since this is the "home" of the clowns overtaking the boardwalk area surrounding the maze. It gave the whole thing a nice buildup. I accidentally turned on a flashlight I had and a clown prepared an entire set-up about thinking I was taking feet pics, saying he was considering it himself for his OnlyClowns, and cackled as he left once he saw we were unable to really respond from the laughter. Mesmer, I didn't realize was a new attraction when I went on it, but I hope to god it becomes a mainstay. The propwork here is phenomenal, and the voice acting for Mr. Mesmer is genuinely intimidating and yet enthralling. Each change in scenery felt like a disjointed shift in cognition, and after a certain point it's hard to tell if even Mr. Mesmer has any control over what happens anymore. The queue here was also kinda long, but it was absolutely worth it for that experience. I absolutely wanna go again next year.

Eh…as an old person who has been year after year until I moved out of Cali- doesn’t look that exciting. Pumpkin Eater looked the best and had old school vibes. The screens suck. I miss vampires and magical sets. Edgar Allan Poe, Jack the Ripper- the old Clown maze, Malice in Wonderland. Definitely seen better.
