Whenever a new character from DFBZ is released, I look forward to see this kind of stuff. Being 100% true to the source material in every move shows their love and passion for the long running franchise. Not every DBZ game are like this.

Amazing how fighterz is a massive love letter to the franchise. I just wished they had more characters from DB since it also has a colorful cast of characters like mercenary tao, general blue, Nam, evil king piccolo, Bacterium, prime chi chi, etc. Wish they did a fighters pass were it was soley based on DB characters...

@Dylan Ogega I mean, Kame (Roshi) is basically just a DB character in this game, I doubt characters like King Piccolo and Mercenary Tao would feel too out of place.

@Dylan Ogega not really, they can fit in well with the animation and speed, plus I'm sure there are plenty of DB fans out there that would love those characters. Plus, to me, characters like kefla always seemed out of place with tge artstyle and moveset -- like something out of Bobobo.

@Dylan Ogega I mean you could easily fit King Piccolo in Fighterz, ion think it'll happen but it would still be nice. I mean other than Tao(even though you could say he was like a mini boss), King Piccolo was the first main villain to give Goku a fight that he barely won.

It sort of gave me the chills seeing just how well they matched the Manga with his Level 3. The slight tilt of the mouth in the second pose, the angle of the charge, the shine on the sunglasses in the close-up, and they even incorporated the blue glow from the anime, it's just so good.

Yeah I could have added those. But the manga one was flawless as its the only time Roshi uses the twirling to attack. Whereas in the eyecatcher goku just powerpoles his dong head. XD

All characters in the game have references from manga, anime and even other games even the old db games, I think the only character that doesn't have is Lab Coat 21 because she's new

I love how much detail the Fighterz team puts into a character’s moves and even small things like a jab & kick. Drawing from the manga, the anime, the movies, and even from past DBZ video games

You deserve every single sub man. Your reference videos give me so much more appreciation to the amount of detail they put in this game. I've been saying this but they need more original dragonball representation in this game. Arale, demon king piccolo, tao any of them would be amazing. Edit: I know arale isn't from dragonball but everytime I think of her I always reminisce on old school dragon ball

This is quite honestly one of the best reference videos I have ever seen, largely due to putting the game and the reference at the same time, freezing on key poses, playing them simultaneously, and with perfect pacing.

Even before watching this, I knew every reference like it was my own birth date; I love OG dragon ball and Roshi so much. But this was still a treat to watch, everything is there, you even saw how he crouched down to take a breather when he first preformed the Kamehameha, truly wonderful

Actually his down forward normal "Rising Phoenix" is a reference to his introduction when he called for the Immortal Phoenix but it had died. Fantastic videos! This is always my first stop when a new character is out to see all the references.

João Felipe Corrêa da Silva Not to say that GT was a total wreck, some elements like Baby, the Shadow Dragons, and SSJ4 (even SSJ4 Gogeta) are salvageable, but should’ve been done better. Even characters outside the two main Saiyans, esp. Goku, should’ve had better screentime instead of just, y’know, “waiting for Goku” all the damn time

The resear h that goes into these characters moves has to be one of the major reasons we're not getting new characters any faster. This had to have taken some extra work and I love it

They hand draw every single frame of animation before they render it using their unique graphic style. One character alone take 4+ months to make. It's not like Xenoverse were It's just slapped on skins all using one foundational model. Which is a commom method, but Arc System Works don't use common methods. They innovative.

Roshi's back kick is based on the kick he used on Krillin when they fought in the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai. Right at the end of their super-fast interaction, where Roshi spat on Krillin's fist and they did roshambo, Roshi kicked him in the back of the head and it looked exactly like that.

It always blows me away how much attention the developers paid towards the series in all it's formats. I recently have been rereading the manga, and when I came across like 3 in-game moves, in like 2 pages of the manga when the RR army attacked Kame house, it was epic.

I love how Master Roshi’s Kamehameha’s are a straight beam, since that’s how a Kamehameha is supposed to be rather than Goku’s rugged Kamehameha’s. Hence why Roshi’s is called The Greatest Kamehameha.

Making alternative costumes in this game is not as easy as slapping another skin on the 3d model. It has to do with how 2.5d anime fighters are made (and arcsys games in particular). There is a nice video on yt explaining the process, and why it is so hard to make additional skins.
