I think they should make it so that each LL has access to their own bloodline's character for generic lords and if they want a Von Carstein for example they would have to use the Bloodline mechanic.

Vampires are the race that needs the biggest rework after the chaos factions. Would be amazing to have unique units for the different bloodlines

Didn't the general leading a Vampire army needs to be a Lore of Vampires caster on tabletop? Im glad that they've maintained this in game, though yeah it would be nice to see a Vampire hero with LoV

Really agree with Konrad as a LH, we need more like Ariel and Ghoritch, they're such fun additions!

I'm just worried that because of Ghorst and Isabella Von Carstein, we won't see the other Bloodlines represented as they already take up two lord slots where we have four missing Bloodlines. Neferata is a given, the blood dragons and Strygoi less so, while the Necrarchs seem very unlikely. It seems like a shame because these seem like interesting characters with unique potential mechanics that could buff up different parts of the army as well.

It's always interesting to me how much the community wants the Red Duke, a character who hasn't had tabletop rules since the 5th edition's Circle of Blood expansion box set that came out in 1997 and who barely got so much as a mention in any Vampire Counts army books. I've seen streamers confuse him with Malloubade saying he's Louen's secret son and Walach Harkon saying he created the blood knights. All because he's on the map and has a unique model.

The counts have some really good mechanics...but are in need of new units. Right now they feel extremely one trick.

I always felt like the VCs could use some more elite units as the ethereal ones are more situational/specialist units.

I look forward to the day VC gets a huge rework. They lag pretty far behind in the "excitement" department despite being, in my opinion, the coolest.

Out of all the factions VCs are mostly defined by the lord so if any faction is to have a bazillion LL options it is them. They should seriously consider adding a Character customisation option in TWWH3.

I specifically remember having skeletal archers back in my brief tabletop stint. I know it's kind of established now that vamp counts are a rush faction without standard ranged options, but I would kill for some skeletal archers for my skelly spam armies.

I think the idea of each bloodline having an influence in each human nation in the form of a legendary lord taking on the culture of that nation with the desire and goal of ruling it as a hybrid faction, ie: -Mallobaude AND OR The Red Duke for Blood Knight bloodline for Bretonnia, -Vlad/Isabella for Von Carsten bloodline for Empire, -Gashnag the Black Prince for Strigoi bloodline for Border Princes, -Neferata OR Kattarin the bloody OR Ulrika Magdova for Lhamian bloodline for Kislev, -Harakhte OR Xian Ha Feng for new Jade Blooded bloodline for Cathay, -Zacharias the Everliving for the Necrarchs bloodline based in Nagashizzar as the Necrarchs never sought to rule but rather to be as necromantic-ally powerful as possible.

Since Zacharius is so powerful, and his dragon mount actually plays an important part of his story, they really should give her a unique appearance. If only because zombie dragons are so overused for the Vampires, and dragons in general have gotten kind of old. Ditto for Harkon, and Abhorash if they decide to give him a mount.

"Super Legendary Lords" being an integrated mechanic into many factions makes sense. A campaign objective to bring back Nagash is obvious, but there is little reason it couldn't also be used to draw bring back Aborash, Giles Le Breton, or incarnate Valten.

The coolest way to implement the Bloodline leaders would be through the Bloodline System. They could be Legendary Heroes just like Ariel, but having them as Lords would be awesome as well. I'd love to see that implemented as not only to complete a bloodline to get them, but also having it beeing a Quest linked to their story.

Really enjoying this series Nathan, your videos have come on no end in recent months too. Great stuff!

I really hope we get “Neferata” by having the Lamian Sisterhood organisation added to “Total War:Warhammer” as a DLC race similar to how the Vampire Coast was added to Warhammer 2 as they could have a very interesting race gameplay mechanics and an interesting campaign focusing on espionage and gathering knowledge and influence as well as building up to a final battle with Queen Khalida. I think they could add more Lamian legendary lords to this faction through some of the various characters that were featured in the Neferata Black Library Novel, as well as the Jade Vampires that can be added to the race pack as legendary characters and units and have been mentioned in the Cathay lore blog for “Total War:Warhammer 3” Other KZfaq channels like Cody Bonds and Grey-Tiger Games have suggested having the Lamians added to the game as their own DLC race as well.

It's a common thing across many of the factions, wherein the lore there were separately specialised factions which would be much cooler. I think they missed a trick with vampire coast not emphasising the role of necrarch etc for the big constructs. Perhaps the most likely would be Nagash & Neferata with Coven Throne, Morghasts, and Spirit hosts, but I always think with a digital game, even if some of the units are mostly reskins, fill out the lore as much as possible. Give us Silver Pinnacle fallen heroes enthralled to Neferata, some variation of Ghouls for Stigoi and some kind of constructs for necrarch. Probably have to rely on the OVN MOD though...

If they made the bretonian and jade bloodlines hybrids of their respective humans in their area that would be cool

Banshees and Terrogheists with actual scream attacks like in TT would be nice. The former in particular works so differently in its Total War incarnation (a bad duellist) that I just consider it a missing unit. And a GOOD one, too... In an army that lacks shooting, it served an important role. There are so many weird and wonderful units now that get their own "bound spells", this one should be in too.

9:53 they may be an "ability" like Tomb King's " Scarab swarm". 20:24 I would love to have Strigoi faction because we could start in Badlands and ghouls really need buff from CA as units. Neferata is a must DLC in the future.

Remember 6th Edition. The fluff was so great, specially about the lahmians. The poor Kislevite got lured in to that sweet, "innocent" girl. And Zacharias with more that 1000 points.

regarding the playable bloodlines, there are actually 4 von Carstein vampires playable at start because Count Noctilus is from that bloodline. The only non-Carstein vampire to start as is Luther Harkon, seeing he is a blood dragon

The Abyssal terror mount could be exclusive to nechrarchs tying into a mechanic of them making their own undead monsters I've said this before, but regarding the lords there should be a legendary lord representing all bloodlines, and the extra lords should become LH. Helman Ghorst LH, Isabella LH. Heinrich representing the master necromancers; Vlad - Von Carsteins; ( acting as Elector count with militia ) Neferata - Lahmia; ( espionage and manipulation, mix of HE and Slaanesh ) Zacharias - Nechrarch; ( Mechanic making new undead monsters from other races, and finding lost artifacts to increase magical power) Red duke - Blood dragons; ( Black Grail knights, and mechanic to turn LLs into vampires ) Ushoran - Strigoi. ( Leading a prosperous empire, with many Landmarks like Settra has many Landmarks at his disposal and living strigany ) Ps: i forgot Mannfred ( lel) he'd have the same objective as Nechrarch lords, to find magical artifacts as he's done before.

One player in my club made a 'zombie dragon' that was just a found bird skeleton he found in the attic, cleaned and glued together.

Loved the video and yes Konrad was always popular. I don't have the VC book anymore but the Black coach could have been done like the pump wagons with variants. The current one should be a tier 3 model. I can't recall but I though one of the rules was etherial and that could be a tier 4 version and lastly add fly for a tier 5 variant.

I know he’s from 6th but I really want to see Gashnag the Black Prince. He’s a strigoi who lives in the border princes but has managed to convince the people that he’s is a man cursed. He has an interesting story which includes conflict with the ogres. I would love to see him appear in game 3.

The Cannibal Knight could be a fun Ghoul/Strigoi centered LL

If Konrad becomes a faction leader I feel like he should be a horde leader. It kinda fits with his madness and the way he rampages across the Empire. If a new master necromancer is added, I'd prefer that it be Dieter Helsnicht. I'd love to see him diving into battle on the back of his manticore, with that massive banner waving behind him, swinging that red skullstaff when casting spells, and decapitating people with that sword. The Doom Lord of Middenheim. Come to think of it, that would be a good opportunity to make Boris Todbringer a playable legendary lord for the Empire, and introduce the Knights of the White Wolf and Knights Panther.

The vampire counts have always been in a good place in Warhammer. the bloodline mechanic added in Warhammer 2 was very needed and added a lot of variety to their camiangs. however the vampire counts only really need one thing. more starting positions. even though they have 6 legendary lorsd (including duke) they're all congested in or next to the empire. if a rework happened i'd be glad to see if they get spread out in the Warhammer 3 mega map.

I wonder if CA considers the Vampire Pirates the DLC dump for Total Warhammer II. Hence the lack of DLC: if you want to play Vampires on the Vortex campaign, just play Vampire Pirates mindset. I think your right, mostly what they are missing for Vampires are legendary Lord versions of the generic lords we already have. Though I have heard someone mention Jade vampires before (Cathay vamps, basically) so I wonder if they would do anything with that.

i think VC should have a undead version of every Living Species. Undead Elves, undead orks, undead Hydras and so on. Yes thats really much iam asking for, but it would make sense and would be cool.

I recall a Murthy’s Rules from ages ago that Vampire Generals were a bad idea as all battles in Warhammer happen during the daytime.

For Neferata, I think she should be in her own faction as the Vampire counts race mechanic does not really fit her. Like you could make cases for Neferata working with some other vampire bloodlines but Strigoi? She should be all about developing the sisterhoods spy networks

Gashnag would be pretty cool for Strigoi. Give him quest battles to find his waifu.

I feel like common Lords are a bit useless. You get a bright variety of LL and Bloodline Lords - why recruit a usual Strigoi or a necromancer lord ?

I think Neferata will be one of the Lords for the Legions of Nagash. The Big Bad Bone Daddy will arrive at some point and she's a prime candidate for arriving with him. I think Abhorash would be best as a LH(though one wildly more powerful than any lords in melee as he is arguably the greatest individual fighter in all of WHF).

I think they should get zombie dragons on there own, as well as get there own versions of morguls and necrofex colossus, I can see to more dlcs for the vampires one where you could have zacharias vs Ulrika from kislev, and a second dlc going up against Sleenesh mabye with neferata, Another idea and I don't know how this would go down, but mabye a vampire character pack where they just add in all the missing vampire Lords/hero's after those 2 dlcs, only way I can think off to get them all in Another issue is if you think nagash should get his own race pack with the legians of undead, and which characters he should get for that pack, I personally think all his disciples should go with him

They could also add the Cathayan Jade Blooded Vampires.

Sheesh feels like the vampire counts were missing more monster category creatures...

What I need for VC is: Them to get the Greenskin hoard mechanic. I won't go in to exacts, but in essence, the more you fight the more the hoard builds up. Along the lines of 10% of total battle casualties become fodder for this. The units in this army should be Zombies, do not regenerate and should start on the field. Each of the bloodlines could have their own flavour to the hoard, like bats and wolves appearing in Von Carstein armies. This should probably be applied to Skavenslaves in some manner

Really looking forward to Neferata and as others have said - she should have living minions as well as her handmaidens, coven throne. A mechanic like High Elf Court Intrigue would work really well. Also who should they get to do the voice....

2:30 i disagree with lords of different lores, looks like it was a rule previously and they've kept it like the crackfox said. Makes it like only the highest vampires can cast from that lore. Necromancers casting from vampires specialize in one half of the lore while the vampire lords focus on the other half. This way the vampire lords can skip those spells to put points on other skills. The other part i don't agree with is having generic lords, when the bloodline mechanic exists. Like the Beastmen, it'd be cooler to unlock lords, since they're already better than generic, so there could be a mechanic to increase the limit.

Dude we could totally have a massive number of vampire count characters, but I do hope they add like a really crappy skeleton archer unit, even though it’s technically not accurate to the game

And also giant bat transformation ability for some lords also would be cool.:)) And incarnate elemental of death would be cool too. :)) Yes I know it is pretty old but adding simulacra would make the roster more fascinating in my opinion. And also zombie dragon is only a mount option. Making it as a monstrous unit option would be awesome. :))) I think CA can make with those additions two DLCs with vampire counts. :)) If they want to get more money from DLCs by Warhammer they should use quite well this options and should make two DLCs with the implementation of one FLC will make vampire counts magnificent. :))) In terms of DLCs I think, Zacharias and Neferata deserve. And in terms of legendary hero I think Konrad von Carstein fits. And one strigoi legendary lord as an FLC. :)) Best regards my dude. :)) Keep it up.:))

The Strigoi did not become bestial until the fall of Mourkain and destruction of the kingdom of Strigos in the now marsh badlands. They were forced to feed on corpses after the destruction the savage orcs wrought....

Units don't necessarily have to be attached to their Lord's DLC we see this all the time with Sniktch for example we only got 1 Eshin unit and a hero and 2 Skryre units and with Malus Darkblade we got mostly units that fit more with Rakarth and Morathi rather than Malus, only one that fit with Malus was the master hero. Also Alariel brought 3 things with her 2 were Averlorn specific and Shadow Warriors belonged to Alith Anar. Helebron brought only 1 Cult of Khaine unit and that's the sisters of slaughter the rest like Supreme Sorceresses and Doomfire Warlocks were better suited to Morathi. Where I'm getting at is that units don't have to be attached to a thematic lord and that lord may come for free. I think it mostly depends on what they consider unique enough.

I'd love a bloodlines character pack. Each bloodline could also be accompanied by a fitting unit for each bloodline. We could also get konrad as a legendary hero. I personally would also prefer to get the blood line progenitors. I've said this before on some of your other vampire videos, but I find the vampires are in the list of most bland races in tww. They're right next to norsca, WoC and the lizardmen. Their rework was mediocre at best and some changes like the technology tree feel badly executed. You're never gonna go for anything other than the free upkeep on skeleton warriors and zombies. Imo all undead factions should be upkeep free, but have unit and army caps instead, like the beastmen and tomb kings. There are way more things CA could do with them to play into the fantasy of playing a manipulative, scheming vampire, who has to outsmart his surrounding enemy factions instead of brute forcing things. Vampire covens similar to undercities could be a way to achieve that, and ways of vassalizing human factions via bloodkisses and covens would be a fun and engaging way of expanding your influence across the nations of men, while staying within the safety of your dark home and building up your economy (especially through vassals) and forces. Corruption is also just boring, but we'll have to wait and see how corruption plays for daemons. I think that tying the vassalage system to the amount of vampiric corruption within a faction's provinces would be a unique and powerful spin on it.

Blood Dragons did get skeletal archers in 6th, also they had lance formation.

Ushoron and Zacharias joining the Vampire Counts makes since, but Neferata does not. She should be in a Legions of Nagash race pack.

*sigh* Oh Konrad again. I swear you've made this video before but I understand there's a bit of a content draught. So I'll repeat myself too. Konrad's thing is no magic and melee champion before Blood Dragons were a thing, and in terms of personality he's mad who collects skulls, which is Queeks thing now days. He brings nothing to the table. Ok, he can be a legendary hero but that would make him stronger than Walach or Aborash if they were added in as legendary lords which would be weird. I can totally see Wallach as a legendary lord and then Aborash as a legendary Hero.

Out of all of them, all I want are my Strigoi Ghoul Kings with Strigany mortal levies.

I would like to se Nepherata able to force break treaties and force wars.

A customisable vampire like the demon prince would be cool.

What do you think about a campaign pack releasing all these. Say on the main campaign you have nagash trying to reclaim all his minions to take over the world and become God while chaos rifts open to stop him. He gets his own campaign, him neferatta, the scarab tomb king and maybe a strigoi are playable on the main game map. If you have all three games ALL the vampire/tomb kings lords are playable. It would be a semi race pack with recycled goodies for people who don't have the first two games and some new models, but multiple lords for people who own all three games and the mortal empires.

Because we have Cathay - as symbol of eastern mythology -Jade Vampires and their zombies with "scrolls" on their face would be nice. @TheGreatBookOfGrudges Do you have any info about Warhammer 3 date of possible Pre-Release " Walkthroughs" and any other "surprises" prepared by The Creative Assembly?

And what about norca lol 😂. I think they will probably get as a legendary lord lord mortkin as he is undevided and as such easy to be made without controversy .

They all need their own unique campaign mechanic similar to that in SFO.

Creative Assemly and Games Workshop might avoid appearances of the Strigany like the plague, since that culture could be seen as being based around stereotypes of the Roma people. The decision will probably come from the same people that decided that the Ogres shouldn't sound Mongolian, and gave them all Cockney accents like the Orcs.

Vampire Counts being split into further sub-factions makes the most sense to me, since it would allow them to plumb that roster for all the characters and units they can. Splitting the VC’s into their core faction, Vampire Coast, Jade Vampires and Legion of Nagash let’s you add pretty much everyone people have been asking for.

Personally I like how Boris and the red duke aren’t playable I can’t see them leading their entire respective factions only small provinces. Tbh I’d like if they add in legendary lords you can’t necessarily play as from the start but incentivize certain play styles (like if you just play infighting with other empire factions as Karl franc you would have a hard time confederating with Boris. And if you want the red duke you go southeast through estalia and Magritta to start fighting brettonia first

Elspeth von Draken would be a cool character for the vampires.

IMO there should be a way to get vampires and apart from that you only have base necromancers.

Cairn Wraiths could be introduced as an elite ghost unit of smaller size. Considering the Deamons are here, elite ethereal units would be counterable now with introduction of more sources of magic dps. I think the human levies under the Vampire Couunts should be armoured archers, fanatical melee and the dreg hero from mordheim (shotgun hunchback deserves the love). This would both give all the bloodlines legendary lords representation of dominated levies while von Carsteins would still keep the formations of gunners from the empire. Add to that Strigany units and you could cosplay armies of human followers. I also don't want to see more generic undead as Vampire counts in theory should be a mix of mortals, undead and various mutants under vampire leadership while all the advanced undead like the OG Necrofex Collosus should go to the Legions of Nagash faction which could be put together from all the more intresting undead from suplements and lore. I think the current Vampire Counts should get 3 more lords during the DLC run: Konrad (strand him somewhere in southern Norsca), Neferata (Silver Pinnacle) and the Red Duke. But Ghorst and Krell could really benefit from beeing moved to the Legions of Nagash race when 2 FreeLC characters would take their slots in the VC rooster - Ushoran and Walach. The Necrarchs legendary lords (mostly W'soran) are more fitting to place in legions of Nagash as they don't keep any living levies or beasts around in favour in experimenting with undead.

Abhorash doesn't make as much sense in total war. He is more of a solo wandering warrior rather than a commander these days. Walach though is currently a commander.

I'd rather not choose, we have the Choice of Vlad and Liz Von Carstein, It'd be nice if we got Abhorash and Harkon and maybe both Strigoi, though i'd definetally want to have both Harkon AND Abhorash, if we cant get both, I'd take Abhorash over Harkon.
