I love this portrayal of Lissandra. She isn't evil, just desperate to the point it warps her into committing evil deeds.

Man Lissandra needs more attention. One of the best designed champs in the game.

I love Lissandra's villain-ness. She was tricked by the Watchers into opening the Void and, in retaliation and regret, she sacrificed Avarossa and Serilda and their reincarnarions to make True Ice that will freeze the Watchers over and over again, however, this desperation led her to evil and she further spiraled into oblivion just to cover up her mistake. She is a purposeful villain, not just bored-evil.

Damn that final monologue she does is so good, that last line especially about watching him as the watchers do to her. I can just imagine her now trying to train him to prepare him for them

Lissandra is one of my favorite champs, and that was BEFORE they changed her lore to the new one (which I prefer). She's so wrong in so manu ways, but she's also right. The best characters often are.

I believe that Lissandra was an anti-hero throughout this story, while at the end of the story, when she realized that she was her own antagonist due to her desperation, she might even have become a hero. It's true that she originally brought the Void to the Freljord, and perhaps at the origin of her story she was a villain, but then she realized her mistake. I think the conclusion to her arc was perfect, especially when she said "I am not the savior I thought I was", and I can't wait to see Lissandra teach Nunu how to fight the Void.

I really hate how most conversations are framed so that the characters are behind the frame just so they have to save budget from animating all of the faces. It would have added so much flavor if they were to show that much emotion and for the cameras to move on campfire scenes. Especially when it is on sad ones.

To those that think Lissandra is good - make no mistake, she is not. Remember, she made a deal with the Watchers to acquire power and to rule Runeterra. However, she ultimately understood that they were going to consume everything into nothingness. To that end, Lissandra sacrificed many, including her own sisters, to seal the Watches within True Ice. True, she may seem noble in preventing them from escaping and thus "saving" the world but she has plans within plans. Indeed, she intends to keep the Watchers encased in True Ice forever but she also plans to bury the world in ice as well as become its sole ruler.

So nunu mom is dead why? And Lissandra going Palpatine on us.

The best villains are the ones you want to win but hate the way they go about it.

Not a fan of her voice, wonder if it's the same VA is the og game or not.

I actually don't like this performance of Lissandra. The voice... is (sadly, i liked the old one) a better fit for her, a true Ice Witch voice. But what I don't like is the dialogue. She's monologuing the entire time and it feels really unnatural, and in her bossfight she really is just evil, not maquiavelic. Let's see some way it could have been better. The first one can start as it does, but with a more gentle tone (Lissandra knows what loss is, and she already acknowledges the dream is dark). Then goes like this: "But the boy and the yeti are alone in that secret region I know too well. And this... Heart of the Blue. 'A fire for the dark', (giggles) but it is Ice which keeps the Void at bay. True Ice. It is True Ice I so desperately need... and that, this yeti holds the power to create." "The ice is melting. The sigils are fading. The cracks go deeper and deeper every day. Behind, you, as you always have. You'd devour the world... But I won't allow it. As long as I live. And this yeti... could just be the blade I need to stop you." When Lissandra goes again in Nunu's dream, she'd have to change dialogues since she's supposed to be listening from the beginning (as she repeats what Nunu's mother said in the first dream). She would instead ask "A candle... And what else is it?", so it looks like she's searching for more info on it. When Nunu answers "a fire for the dark", she keeps asking, "And what else?" which then is followed by "Umm... a weapon?" which jumps right to when she asks about the weapon. It skips the "did i get it wrong?" but it is what it is. The second monologue would go like: "They are so close... to the Freljord's darkest secret. But why would the yeti go there? It would only find pain. The pain of losing your closest kin... an agony I know all too well. (pause to reflect) Or is there something else? Has the yeti hidden something there? Something hidden even to the boy's dreams... this ultimate weapon, the Heart of the Blue. But first, I have to deal with that foolish hero, the so-called Heart of the Freljord. Once that's done, the yeti will bring me its secrets." The third (as context, Lissandra is pretty much one of the first Iceborn ever and has also tried to deal with Braum many times via the Frostguard): "Freljord's greatest hero, taken out of the picture... for now. Iceborn do not die that easy. I, too, know that all too well... But now, you, yeti, are next. This Heart of the Blue... you will wield it for me." The last of Nunu's dreams remain unaltered. The fourth monologue (context: lissandra mistakenly welcomed the watchers upon the world without knowing their danger): (Quiet, still voice) "Serylda, the wordless. Avarosa, the soundless. (quieter, sadder) And Lissandra... the sightless. (short, sad giggle. now, almost a whisper, in cold tone). I have not forgotten. I never will. After nine thousand years... I still have to mend my mistakes. And, as before... A sacrifice must be made." "It was here, I can feel it. The beating Heart of Anivia. The Heart of the Blue... The only way to restore the True Ice. The yeti knows, I'm certain. And it will answer to me. (growingly sinister) It will." Her first discussion with Nunu (Lissandra has empathized with Willump before, she won't just objectify him, and she understands Nunu's place, so she'll attempt to convince him): "Step away from it, child." N: "No! Leave Willump alone!" (not mocking, just reflexive): "Willump? So it has been given a name... (doesn't laugh) Oh, child, you know nothing of what this creature is." (obviously Nunu doesn't know) N: "He's... he's my friend." (calmly) "It is a weapon. A weapon direly needed in the war to come." N: "What are you talking about...?" "A great darkness stirs. A darkness that threatens not only the Freljord, but Runeterra as a whole. It almost destroyed this land last time, and with it the entire world. This creature holds the secret to the power to stop it: True Ice." N: "True Ice? I don't understand..." "It is the only thing that can stop it, child. As it was so long ago. And just like then, a sacrifice is to be made, so the world can be saved." N: "A sacrifice... but he's my friend!" "Yes, and yet it has to be done. I know so. Long ago, I sacrificed all that I loved, to stop this very same doom." N: "You did?" "Yes. To sacrifice what you love most for the greater good isn't easy. But it is the only way, child. To stop the Void, this creature is... but a small price to pay." N: "..." "Now, child. Step away from the creature." N: "RAAAAR" "...so naive." (puf) "Come, yeti. Your purpose is in another place." Second discussion with Nunu: "Such displays of friendship. A warmth to thaw the coldest of hearts." ROAAAR "You know what's at stake here, child. The yeti, or the world... and yet here you are." N: "And here I'm staying. With Willump" "And so, you choose to throw away the world, in the futile pursuit of friendship. Your naivete would doom us all..." N: "No. I'm choosing another path. I know the sacrifices that you made, and why. What's the point in living without your family beside you?" ROAAAR "And what precisely is this 'other path' you speak of? Enlighten me." N: "I... don't know yet. But we'll find it together. No problem ever has only one or two easy solutions. There's always a secret option number three! You just got to look hard to see it!" "(sardonic) 'I just got to look hard to see it'? Oh, child... (enraged) I have spent nine thousand years, searching for any way to stop them, without rest, without sleep, and you tell me 'I just need to look hard to see it'! Where is your third option, then?! Where haven't i LOOKED?!" N: "I..." "And where was it back then?! WHERE?!" N: "I don't..." "Enough. Talking is useless." BOSSFIGHT STARTS And during the bossfight, Lissandra wouldn't evil-laugh like a villain, because she isn't fighting for the pleasure of it. She's fighting because that is the only thing she can think to do now. She sees in Nunu a painfully naive boy, who not only denied the world, but also basically negated the life purpose Lissandra has endured herself through for the last nine thousand years. She has to prove him wrong, even if it hurts him, because otherwise she'd be accepting her life mission, her suffering and her "redemption" have been all in vain.
