Female glowing puffy mutants have got to be the most dangerous mutant in this game lol. That jump attack they do shreds through armour especially in hard survival.

i always call the fingers "hot dogs" because they look like when you accidentaly put a hotdog in the microwave too long

Light class Mutants: 0:01 Fingers Probably your second mutant youll run into after puffy. They apear slow at first but can pick up speed if you get too far. However they dont have much health, they do mediocre damage and if you poke their legs with a spear theyll get stunned for a moment. I believe this also works with Bullets and Arrows. While fragile for a mutant, Fingers can often be found in groups made up from 2-3 Fingers aswell as some Puffies. You might have seen wierd sludge on walls inside caves at times. This sludge is made by the Fingers. The Fingers also seemingly have a horrible eye sight so stealth is very effective against them. 3:00 Puffy The first mutant youll most likely run into. Seem slow but can pick up speed if attacked, more durable than youd expect but still weaker than Fingers, They tend to play dead so be sure to make certain they acxually died and arent just acting, While their health is low, their attacks weak and their movement mediocer their strenght is in numbers, expect to see groups of 5 - 10 even. Usually acompanied by Fingers mutant. Stealth is decently effective against them. 5:20 Baby Weakest mutants in the game, their attacks are also relatively weak however they are somewhat agile and can be dificult to hit, they can be found often in large groups of 5-8. However Mutants Legsy and Jianyu can birth them so expect to see them acompany these 2. Stealth is pointless from close but ranged attacks are decently effective if you can hit such small targets. Mid Class Mutants: 0:50 Twins Slow but suprisingly tanky mutant whos hits hurt. Their attacks are all over the place and fast however by hitting one side of the twins enough it will for a moment stagger giving you free hits, the twins can climb up walls and often ambushes the player by attacking them from the cealing inside caves, they also can burry themselfs underground and ambush you in certain caves. They tend to be alone but can acompany Fingers and puffies. Stealth is not great unless you can spot them before they spot you. 2:25 Demon Very fast speed, decent tankiness and damaging attacks make the demon very dangerous, they tend to attack in packs of 2-3 aswell. They whould be in heavy category however their weakness to the cross item makes them considerably less dangerous. These mutants can be encountered in story dungeons where they are only acompanied by themselfs and the Giant demon boss. However after beating the game and staying in the island you might see these monsters apear on surface. Stealth is near useless as Demons can see you from very far away. Range is a good option but the cross is even better for saving ammo. Heavy Class Mutants: 1:40 John 2.0/Slinky They tend to apear from out of nowhere startling the player, Slinky is the largest Mutant in the game if bosses arent counted and posesses a ton of health, Slinky can break structures slightly faster than other Mutants (exept Armsy) and had (not sure if it was patched) the ability to go throw walls. However Slinkys damage is not great towards players, his speed is mediocre and his swings are slow and predictable. Slinkys can only be encountered on the surface (exept one dead one in MR and MS Puffton boss fight) stealth is pointless as its near quaranteed slinky has seen you before you see him. Slinkys apear allmost allways on their own. 3:40 Glowing Puffy Hard to tell apart from regular puffy in the sunlight however these are arguably the most dangerous heavy Mutants in the game, while they apear frail and identical to regular puffies they have an absolute ton of health and their hits hurt a lot. If that wasent enough they are never alone and will be acompanied by other puffies and even possibly a 2nd Glowing Puffy. Stealth is just as afective against them as regular Puffys. 10:00 Armsy Slow mutant with ton of health and strongest attacks out of all non boss mutants, his attacks do extra damage against buildings and he often compo attacks meaning your walls will go down pretty quickly. Armsy can also slam its hands on the ground causing a shock wave that throws you on your back but its range is very small. They could and possibly still can also cut down trees with their swings. Stealth is decent against them. Armsies are particularly weak to fire aswell. Armsy is a late game mutant so dont exect to see him in a while. 10:30 Legsy Fastest Mutant in the game (or second if you count Giant Demon). Legsys attack fast and can even leap at you. Their damage is decent however due to their attack speed it doesent really matter. Their health is relatively high but not incredibly so. However Legsys are one of only 2 mutants (3 if you count agressive Sluggy) that can summon Babies so expect to face Legsy together with 2-4 babies atleast. Stealth is just as effective as with Armsy however Legsy tends to randomly make wierd turns so you might get unlucky while sneaking if it turns around. Another Mutant that you wont see till late game. Bosses: 5:50 Mr Puffton 6:50 Ms Puffton Boss fight taking place in a bunker these 2 will be the first bosses you face. Their health are even higher than Glowing Puffys and so are their damage. Stealth will not work for they will automaticly spot you. Ms Puffton walks on all Fours wich makes her harder to hit and faster than Mr Puffton. Explosives are your friend with these 2. 7:47 Giant Demon I dont have much experience with this guy for somereason my game bugged and it didint spawn however just like regular demons hes incredibly fast. Thats about all i can say for i havent experienced it enough. 8:57 Jianyu The tankiest mutant and the final boss of SOTF. Jianyu is easily the largest Mutant in the game. Jianyu deals a ton of damage and moves faster than youd expect. You are imediatly spotted so stealth isint an option. Jianyu can also spew other mutants at you such as Twins and Babies (Possibly puffins too?) during the fight so killing Jianyu fast is breferable. Explosives work the best. Jianyu also can pick up the helicopter during the ending and use it as a club. Jianyu can throw rocks at you during the fight making it the only Mutant with a ranged attack in the game unless you count Sluggys Exploding and Armsys Shockwave. Honorable mention: Sluggy Can be found in most caves. Blocks entrances but is pretty much harmless otherwise. They can be instantly destroyed with explosives. Agressive Sluggy One Sluggy is not like the others, it apears in a cutscene where its acompanied by mutant babies. It knocks you out however once you wake up the sluggy is dead. Why was this one Hostile while the others werent? No clue. The Hand We know nothing of this mutant exept that its not in the game curently or mayby never if it was scraped. We can see 'The Hand' in a early Trailer for Sons of The forest where it hits the Helicopter causing it to crash down. In the curent version of SoTF our helicopter is Shot down instead (Most likely by Jianyu)

Okay, just saw the twins and had a fucked up idea. What if each twin had a separate health bar, and when you killed one then the other would drag it behind itself trying to still attack you.

I watch a couple KZfaqrs play this and I've never seen any above ground without console commands🤷🏻‍♂️ also I think it would be cool if they add like a 5% chance of a mutant like jianyu to spawn after he's defeated kinda like the Megan monster would spawn in the world sometimes after defeating her in the first game

ye they kinda did nailed a few of them really well armsy, demon, virginia superb especially how virginia and demon manage to resemble insects but they would probly didn't stand out as much if others were done in the similar manner
