I just baught the 2023 X1. It took me a couple of months to get used to it. It’s exceptionally adaptive. I looked at the A3 and the GLA AMG. The X1 was by a million miles, the best in its class. In my opinion. Fun to drive. Comfortable and small.

Looks terrific. At $40k starting, it may be successful. Upgrade the engine for REAL POWER and you're starting at $49k. I would consider it, but my next purchases will strictly be Hybrids.

I drive an Xline X1 with 18” wheels, sport seats, lumbar support, heated wheel, adaptive cruise, etc $45K. The car is roomy, quick, and nimble. On highway at 75mph gets 36mpg. About 22mpg in suburban driving. Has a wonderful feature of automatically backing itself out of a tight parking space by remembering how you put it there. It has three drawbacks. 1) The menu system is complicated and awful. 2) On a washboard it feels like a minor earthquake. 3) Starting up from a stop it lags and/or jumps ahead. In a tight spot , a sudden jump is disconcerting.

Oh, BTW, all-wheel drive with the X1 is a joke in snow. If you have to turn in snow at slow speeds the car simply skates in any direction it chooses.

biggest issue the center console.... the center console is practically USELESS! what was BMW thinking... just use a traditional center console for STORAGE...

I prefer my UX. Especially on the highway (noise/comfort) and cost to run. If you can afford the BMW, surely you can afford to have the TV delivered. 😉

Great looking inside and out, but, wouldn't consider BMW anymore for reliability. Once burned...... DCT doesn't work for me in city driving. Just my opinions.

Lease? Put the engine in Sport for city and it's always ready to party. If it's in comfort it's a bit laggy but gives you the 7th gear and 30mpg

tonale I've driven fairly recently. Tonale feels sharper with rwd push. I like tonale software better. X1 has great space for me kids and cargo.

I like it. I wanted to buy one in Germany but unfortunately it was to expensive for me and at the end I buy, with the same size, HP and options, a Sportage for $ 20k less. Thanks Kirk.

Sportage is a compact SUV, the X1 is a subcompact luxury suv

Can't get away from the impression that in spite of the kidney grill and beautiful blue paint (Why can't Lexus do a blue like that?) it looks like a hightop sneaker with wheels. That's the way most SUVs look when they want to sell "space". Not everyone is 6 feet tall, and the back seat of such a car is generally for children. Or your mother-in-law. BMW is known for performance - no argument there. Fuel economy? Hybrid? Dependability? I also can't believe how much this channel has changed. Not surprised it has grown.

The suspension is not really adaptiv. You cannot change it manually on the X1

Longitudinal mounted engine doesn’t necessarily mean RWD. Most Audi’s and Subaru’s have longitudinally mounted engines but are FWD based. MLB evo products are also another example of longitudinally mounted FWD based but have a rear biased AWD system.

I have an X3 M40i and yeah, the steering wheel is too fat. Not sure how fat wheels came to signify “sporty”. The tranny in this isn’t appealing but I’d otherwise consider one since I prefer smaller vehicles.

I have a 2020. Even the non-msport version is way way better than UX F. My friends has the UX F sport and it feels rather poor in comparison.

@@avdp9095 💯 % reliability in a 10yrs span & then some for sure. Fam still have Lexuses & Totoyas. I moved on & have an all bimmer fleet. Lexus has no product that touches ///M (not Msports). Maybe when I hit the 40-80yrs bracket. I may add a Lexus for reliabilty & comfort. Still far away in the future. I do standby 20’ Msports F48 > UX F. Even if it’s a Fwd bimmer, that baby B58 (b48) is soooo gooood! Not as fun as the 6spd Mini Countryman.

Kirk. Quality wise you cann't compare a Bmw with a Lexus. Lexus, Infinity, Honda, Kia, have surpassed the German " premium" brands ..... . Build quality, materials used, reliability of the once premium brands Bmw, Mercedes, Audi, below average. In Europe their is among the established carjpurnalists a lot of critics regarding Bmw, Mercedes and Audi, VW.... . Paintjob of a Bmw is considered poor, Audi has a lot of cheap materials, onterior and EQ series of Mercedes, wow, this comment section to short. .

@@KirkKreifels but at what cost? It’s cramped, severely under powered, very slow, boring to drive and way overpriced I’ve driven a ux and what I said is true. Almost any other Toyota hybrid will obliterate the UX
