At first I did not like the styling, but having seen it in the flesh, it looks stunning. And I love that it looks nothing like a normal BMW and its "out there" with its styling.

Managed to drive an iX myself. What a machine. You can sense BMW threw everything into the car to make it their electric flag bearer.

I think it looks pretty great. BMW get a hard time for their designs, and they don't always get it right, but I've got no problem with this one. New type of car, new look, very distinctive. I'd love to own one.

I am a current i3 driver. Been driving electric now for 3 years and I won't go back to ICE. As a daily driver, it is so much better than an ICE vehicle. I would likely have bought this, it is an awesome vehicle. I however preordered the Volvo P8 Recharge and I think it will likely arrive soon (TM)

The second set of rear lights are due to a quirk in US law. The rear lights must be on a fixed part of the vehicle according to US law. But because the designer wanted to put the rear lights on the boot lid, they had to put a second set of brake lights inside the boot lid on the body of the vehicle to satisfy the legal requirement for fixed rear lights whenever the hatch is opened and the main rear lights are not visible.

The dream would be a EV that costs between R300 000 and R350 000, has a range of 500 km, seat 4 to 5 people comfortably and equipped with just the necessary luxuries and safety features.

Watching this after a year and buying a iX xdrive40. Charging at this SMG BMW in century city is no longer free for anybody. Also, great review and the car really does look great in the video. This is kinda my perfect family car if you have a bunch of kids.

I love the crystals inside the interior and I like the wood too, they should put it into regular cars like the 3 series or the 7 series or even the 5 series

Having driven the car the last two weeks, I can say everything you say is true. It’s hard to put it in words, but I have never driven anything that is close to it when it comes to refinement. When I had to go back to my 3 series I had similar feelings when I had to drive a VW Polo (compared to the 3 Series) Autobahn consumption (120-140 km/h) was about 26 kWh/100 in in german winter (-3 C). City consumption 22kwh

Looking forward to the replacement of the i3 or the even smaller electric one..

This reviuw was one of the best I have seen on yt, new sub here and looking forward to your next one. Yes it seems that these so called "Legacy Auto Makers" is actually still alive... Last year the EQS series from MB was a big surprise, Volvo and Polestar looking very interesting with the new concept cars, VW/Skoda/Porche is doing really well, the Stellantis group is selling high numbers in Europe, and the Hyundai brand including Kia and Genesis, is maybee the EV leaders in new ideas and developing. About interior, take a look at almost everything from Genesis, if you like driving cars.

What a great car, I love the direction BMW is taking especially for it's designs. A little bit adventurous but I applaud them for not playing it safe and with that, their cars have presence especially to the normal people who see cars as objects to move them from point A to B. Unfortunately I think the move to a fully electric car in South Africa (for obvious reasons) is not practical. I would love to see more developments on their Plug in Hybrid SUVs to be exciting close to this. Otherwise great review as always , keep up the good job man!

Picking up my ix50 on Friday. Wasn’t looking for this option, but comes w bronze titanium trim including a bronze colored front grill. Wife thinks it looks a bit over the top and ghetto but it works for me.

This is an incredibly good looking car in the metal. It’s big, bold and just makes a statement.

The interior is amazing! My new favorite.

OK done trading in my X5 M50d on one of these! Thats if i can get one!

The rear design is stunning. The front is not great. But I love the rest of the car. The interior material and build quality of BMWs these days is exceptional and far ahead of Audi and Mercedes (especially Mercedes who's interiors have too much hard plastic these days). I think this is a great effort from BMW. The price is really not bad at all. I was expecting over R2 million. I saw one in Roodepoort the other day and it's beautiful (apart from the front). BMW, I feel, is the last proper German car company still sticking to that quality feel.

How long does it take to charge from say 10% to 80%? Normal charging vs fast charging. In a performance SUV I can do 500km on a tank of gas, but refilling takes about 5 min, 6 if the wash your windscreen..

The BMW ev is very unique with the it's looks. Price expensive definitely not cheap yoh but worth the money.
